The camera is a little bulky, but this is not a pocket camera. It takes amazing HD video and great photos. Wishing the shutter speed was a little quicker. Did not come a lens cap that can be attached. Had to purchase an add on to keep the lens from scratching.

Let me start by saying that I picked up this camera in the clearance section for $130. It did not have a battery or lens cover. Those were easy enough to find on another site inexpensive. The camera is light weight and the pictures are spectacular. When zooming in close be sure to use a tripod.

This camera is a great camera for a novice and serious photographers. Picture quality is excellent. My wife had the 30x model and moved up to the 50x. I have a Sony DSLR and use her old camera for a backup camera and wide angle scenes. Most people will be very happy with this camera. I wish it had raw capability. This camera is an improvement over the 30x. Both cameras are great.

I am happy with the camera, however the USB cable was missing from the package. I spoke with Sony representative who refused to send out the cable and instructed me to contact Best Buy. I have been waiting over 3 weeks for the cable to come from the Geek Squad. It has been reordered today so I hope it arrives so I can actually use the camera.

I had the DSC HXV100 BUT THERE WAS PROBLEM WITH THE POWER BUTTON IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO GEEK SQAUD AND THEY FIX IT. AND WHEN I GOT HOME IT DID NOT RECONGIZE THE MEMORY CARD SO AFTER A COUPLE DAYS BEST BUY CALLED ME AND SAID YOU HAVE $368 CEDIT TOWARDS ANOTHER CAMERA .SO I STARTED TO SHOP FOR A ANOTHER CAMERA. I WAS HESITANT ON BUYING A CAMERA THAT REQUIRED LENES THAT WOULD COST ME ANOTHER EXTRA $500 ON TOP OF MY $368 CREDIT . THEY WERE NOT MAKING THE SAME CAMERA THAT I HAD. SO I DECIDED TO GO ONE STEP UP FROM SONY'S CAMERAS FROM THEIR HXV100 TO HX300 IT HAD A OPTICAL ZOOM OF 52 AND MY OLD ONE WAS ONLY 32 OPT ZOOM, ITS WAS ONLY GOING TO COST ME AT FIRST $100 EXTRA ,WHEN IT CAME TIME TO BE CHECKING OUT AT BEST BUY I WAS ONLY CREDITED $322 SO I ENDED UP PAYING AN EXTRA $200 FOR THIS CAMERA IN WHICH I DID NOT WANT TO SPEND SO I PUT IT ON MY BESTBUY CARD AND HAVE 18 MONTHS TO PAY $200 BACK NO INTEREST BASICALLY THE CAMERA IS THE SAME AS THE ONE I HAD BEFORE EXCEPT WITH A BIGGER OPTICAL ZOOM 52 AND PIXELS ARE HIGHER 20.4

We used this on our trip to Glacier National Park in Montana. The roads are sometimes narrow and you can't stop to take all the pics you would want to. Well this camera can take them from the car's open window and they don't come out blurry in the slightest. The long zoom lens is amazing... the pictures are quality. We have owned other Sony cameras and have been pleased but this tops them all. Battery life is amazing.

I'm still learning my way around the camera. The last camera that I really liked and used alot was a pocket camera. so far I LOVE my SONY!! relatively easy to use-- gives you the option for auto setting (aim & shoot ) and other settings for those more advanced. my eye sights not so fab anymore so I love the view finder with focus setting to your own eyesight. LCD screen is movable, great for shooting in crowds. Very satisfied!! Would purchase this camera again. Definatel;y reccomend!!

Love the anti-movement technology and 50X zoom lens. Great video feature. Long battery life.

This camera takes some of the best pics i have seen yet from a digital camera in it's price range and has more features than i could ever want!!!!
