This review is for the Sony DSC-HX400. Stills, video or both are your choices with this camera. It has GPS and WIFI and a 50X zoom Zeiss lens. The LED screen is excellent if you like to shoot that way. It's only fault is mediocre quality of it's viewfinder. I'm used to the view through an SLR and find the Sony's to be a little contrasty and fuzzy in comparison. It does have adjustable diopters for the finder but it just not as sharp as my SLR. However, it is light and compact in comparison and takes excellent quality video and still shots. 90% of my shooting is with this camera. It has a host of features I haven't used yet, like remote shutter release using a smart phone or mobile downloads.

The photo image is spectacular and it has great telephoto and wide angle. It is light and quite compact and makes good transfers to my smart phone. Very easy to use.

This camera takes good pictures, is easy to set up, and very simple to use. I really can’t tell the difference between my DSLR and this in terms of photo quality.

Very easy to use, no complaints, takes nice picture from distance with very little movement,so far used for taking pictures of birds in backyard and grandkids.

Great camera, don't need to worry about which size of lens you need to zoom, just point and shoot. Takes great pictures during the day and night. Used it for my son's wedding and everyone was raving about what a great camera it was, even professional photographers wanted to know more about the camera. I'm happy for the Quality of the pictures and even better than some of the professional photographer. Oh, even has video. Awesome job Sony!!!!!

I bought this just before we left for vacation. Great camera, takes great pics and pretty user friendly. Can't wait to put the photos on my computer to see how easy that can be.

I absolutely love this Sony camera. It truly is so easy to use compared to the many others I have tested out beforehand. The zoom is incredible.

This is my second Sony camera. I love that it has a great zoom with awesome definition. This model is just a Lil harder to focus than my last one. But still great!

I bought this camera to replace my old point and shoot. I was very happy and impressed with the optimal zoom. As this allows much clear images than digital zoom. The navigation of the camera I found to be very easy, and can be a great for anyone learning how to use manual mode. The flash I was surprised that it worked really well, as it lights an area well but not to much that it makes people look oily. Only down side is that I wished the screen could pop out more and that it can be turned. Also the viewfinder image is very grainy, and what you see throughout the lens is much clearer on the screen. This though is not a deal-breaker for me as my old camera was like this as well. It has a annoying feature of automatically going to viewfinder if your face gets near but your can easily change that in the menu.

Bought this for a trip to alaska. It took amazing pictures and even my 11 year old daughter could operate it and took several photos by her self.

I've owned two Sony cameras before that were awesome. This is less so. Still a great camera with a 50x zoom, 20.4 megapixals and a viewfinder! I don't like the lense cover because it is difficult to remove if you have any fingernails at all. You really have to pinch it hard to remove it and not much space for fingers to do this. Once it is off, it is not attached to anything, nor is there anyway to attach a cord to it. I added velcro to it and the bottom of the camera but it's awkward. I like my lense covered when I'm not shooting so it's awkward a lot if I'm out taking shots, walking a bit and shooting again. Haven't had it long enough to really review anything else about it. Still learning.

Awesome zoom, easy to use. I appreciate the easy settings. Nice quality pictures and nice not to have to switch lenses. No more dslr for me.

This camera was a bit larger than I expected, but I am happy with it. It took a while to figure out how to use many of the settings, but I am very pleased with the photos. Definitely download the instruction book.

We bought this after listening to the advice of a sales associate after giving her our needs and wants from a new camera. We took it Hawaii for two weeks and it took some of the most amazing pictures. The zoom is great. Taking pics up close? Wow. Our best shots came from being on a helicopter tour. We've pegged n few of the best to turn into canvas wall hangings. No regrets. It's great for what we need it for and doesn't require carrying additional lenses.

Easy to use, right out of the box! Lots of built in features make it a pleasure to use. Only drawback is you cannot add and eye cup.

I love my camera but the USB connection is not working. I need to take it back. This was the first time I tried to use it. I was updating the software and now my camera is inoperable because it is waiting for the info.
