We had a cheap one that broke in a few months with only a couple moves. Got this one on sale for $10 more than the last one and love it. Picture is great on her basic TV and it can okay any type of DVD, so we don't have to worry if it is BLU-Ray or not. Remote is basic and it hooked up really easy. Plus it is compact so it fit perfect on her chest of drawers.

Great slim size DVD player Fits nicely on a shelf doesn't take up a lot of room as the larger units. But with high quality picture and features. Easy to take along on trips. Great value

I NEEDED TO MAKE CONNECTIONS FROM AN HDMI DVD PLAYER TO AN HDMI TV. I AM RUNNING MY VOLUME THROUGH MY SURROUND SOUND SPEAKERS AND I HAVE A 20 YEAR OLD RECEIVER THAT HAS THE 'RCA' CONNECTIONS. I NEED TO PLUG THE DVD PLAYER INTO THE RECEIVER. I BOUGHT A DVD PLAYER AT WALMART THAT HAD RCA CONNECTIONS, AND I USED A CONVERTER BOX THAT HAD HDMI TO GO TO THE TV. I WAS GETTING A BLACK SCREEN WHILE STILL HAVING AUDIO. WHEN I WOULD UNPLUG THE CONVERTER BOX FROM THE TV, THE BLACK SCREENS NEVER CAME BACK. SO, AFTER A PROCESS OF ELIMINATION, AND AFTER REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR TV, THE CABLE BOX, AND RETURNING THE DVD PLAYER, THE CONVERTER BOX ALONG WITH THE HDMI CABLE AT WALMART, A FRIEND MENTIONED TO BUY A DVD PLAYER THAT COMES WITH BOTH HDMI AND RCA CONNECTIONS. BEST BUY AND WALMART DID NOT HAVE THEM IN STOCK, BUT I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND THIS ONE AT BEST BUYS WEB SITE, AND IT WAS 40.00, WITH [1] DISC. IT HAS BOTH TYPES OF CONNECTIONS, AND PERFECT FOR ME FOR WHAT I USE IT FOR, BECAUSE I NEVER WATCH DVD'S. I LOVE IT. THE SOUND AND PICTURE QUALITIES ARE PERFECT. I AM SO GLAD THAT BEST BUY CARRIED THIS 'SONY' DVD PLAYER. . IT WAS VERY EASY TO HOOK UP, AND THE PRICE WAS FANTASTIC. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DVD PLAYER. IT COMES WITH THE RCA CABLES AND A SMALL REMOTE CONTROL WITH BATTERIES. YOU NEED TO BUY AN HDMI CABLE. I BOUGHT ION CABLE. IT WORKS BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONE THAT WALMART SOLD ME. Purchased this DVD player because many modern TV's don't support analog video plugins, but I'm too stubborn to part with my digital collection just yet. If you are like me and need a simple machine to play those DVD's are a modern HD or 4K TV, this is a must. The setup could not be simpler. Took the machine out of the package, hooked up the power cable, and then plugged in my spare HDMI cable. Unfortunately the package only comes with old-school RCA cables, so you WILL need your own HDMI to take advantage of the upscaling. That being, said, there were zero issues. I powered up the DVD player once all cords were connected, set my TV to the appropriate output source, and the screen popped right up. No tedious setup, no complex installation requirements. Upscaling makes DVD imagery look surprisingly well on a 4K TV. It obviously won't look as crisp as 4K resolution, but the 1080p upscaling looks very good on my 55' 4K TV. Looks much better than the old 480p image I had on my previous TV. System had no problem reading discs and worked as quick as one can expect a DVD player to work. Remote layout is simple so there's no confusion there. For the price, this is definitely a quality product. You'll need your own HDMI cable, but the upscaling feature will keep your DVD collection viable on modern TV's as well as make the image look a little more crisp. If you still have RCA connections and just need a DVD player, you can find cheaper but it's still a solid pick.

If your like me and you stil use a dvd player this one is perfect thin and sleek

The DVD player is compact and it fits well underneath the tv. The picture is clear and it is easy to use.

The quality of playback is not as good as I would have hoped. But I'm sure if I would have researched this a little I would have bought different. But having said that, it works just fine and I saved a bundle over the other one on the shelf. Our old one had died, and I came in and bought this one without talking to any of the sales team. I got home and realized the other DVD player was fine, the power strip had died. So, we donated one of the players to the church. Let's just say it's fine for old people who only watch DVD's when the Disney channel is not working. Which is never. We needed the Player to show a teaching course to people. We are happy with our selection as it is more than adequate. I would recommend if you are looking for a cheap fast fix. Otherwise, go for a longer dollar product

DVD player works great. It is compact in size but not in quality. Very easy to set up and program remote to the TV. I used a HMDI cable instead of the included AV connectors. Clear picture, good options, sound fine. Remote gives all the options you need. Button to see time left on DVD. I actually like that there is no display on the actual unit.

Much better than their low-budget $65 player which does not play BlueRay. This one is easier to operate, has a much better remote and a sharper picture.

The DVD player was bought to replace one that had become obsolete. Although I am an old lady and not very tech savvy I was able to connect it to the tv with no problem. It works well and the remote is easy to use. The buttons on the remote to operate the DVD player are self explanatory. When playing a dvd it will automatically return to where you left off without you having to do anything. The quality of the picture is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone.

This DVD Player is so good I purchased one for my son's room. DVD TV and Movies from the 50s to now are so amazingly clear. The Sound Quality is superb as well. The remote control is so very easy to use with every control needed for every operation. I read a lot of reviews before my purchase of this Excellent DVD player and this machine far exceeds the reviews I read. The cost of this machine is so reasonable I am going to buy a third for another family member, Plays Music CDs perfectly as well. Upscales to 1080P. Must have HDTV for Maximum Quality.

Quality is great easy so easy to use and looks very sleek

Easy setup and operation. Takes up very little space. Easy to use remote. Have watched many movies since I got this! Great value for the price. Very pleased with my purchase!

Finally, I got a basic DVD up-conversion player the works great and didn't cost a bundle either. My previous two Samsung DVD-C500 units both failed in less than 6 months, plus they 'growled' while playing since day one. This little Sony is so quiet I don't even know it's playing. Also love that the 'remote menu' really takes you to the Play Movie screen with one push, bypassing all previews. Money well spent plus a decent up-conversion 1080p DVD picture makes me a happy movie buff.

I love my new Sony DVD/CD Player. It was delivered promptly and was securely packaged. It was easy to install and plays perfectly. I highly recommend this item.

I really love this DVD player. It is extremely compact, and more importantly, works really well. Even my older DVDs look better with this player than with my old one. I had been looking for a very small DVD player and had thought this might be bigger than I wanted--it wasn't. It is really quite tiny but performs mightily.

I got this to replace a different unit that failed. Other unit was a Magnavox. I've only watched a few movies on it so far, so I'm not exactly sure if the DVD quality is a blame (15 year old dvd's), old hdmi cable or unit itself. I doubt it's the unit. All movies have played flawlessly with varying quality. Unit itself is best controlled with remote. Only basic open/close, power, play/pause and stop. The setup menu offers more than what the unit can dish out in our home. I assume more options for home theater and newer tv's. Overall I think I got a great buy since it's only for a movie once a month with only a roku soundbar. Under $50 total delivered. It's worth it.
