The battery compartment that powers the noise canceling aspect of the headphones is heavy enough to pull the ear bud out your ear. The noise canceling ability is questionable. It only cancels so much. On a smartphone, with its built in volume control limits, does not allow a user to increase the volume of the music to accomodate for the lack of noise canceling ability. altogether the headphones are average.

The frequency response is great with my iPod Touch and iPad. I live in an airport flight path, and these things definitely attenuate the roar of the airliners on approach and takeoff. I can definitely tell the difference in ambient noise when I turn the noise cancelling on. I'll be trying them out in a few weeks on an airliner. I have a set of Bose QC 2s, and these have far less distortion and better fidelity.

I used these recently for a flight. Really good noise cancelling headphones!! And sound was awesome.

I'm not sure how the noise canceling works, but I can still hear when I turn on the noise canceling alone. Overall I am please with the product, because I can watch movies on the laptop while my husband watch sports and I can not hear the t.v. and that is without the noise canceling on.

I'm still trying to figure out why there's a little bulky box with a battery on these headphones. I guess you're supposed to clip it to your shirt jacket...ect. I find the to be a bit cumbersome. Sound quality is so -so and would not recommend them at this price.

I use this every time I travel and at work. It's small but still provides good sound. I do wish it did better at noise cancellation on the airplane.

I purchased these noise canceling headphones thinking they would cancel noise unwanted while listening to iPod. However, I have found I paid $100 for a $10 pair of ear buds. I cannot tell a difference between my cheap Wal-Mart Sony ear buds and these $100 (Supposedly noise canceling) ear buds.

I got these headphones for my father in law and he loves them!

I bought these before a recent flight to San Francisco. Tried them for the first time on the plane and they had zero noise reduction on the plane. They are going back once I return home.

These are supposed to be noise cancelling headphones, but they do nothing.
