This lens has been 100% well worth the investment. I learned about it from a Best Buy associate - before that I didn't even know it existed but when he showed it to me I thought I was dreaming. I had to reconsider my 24-70 F2.8 that I went into the store to buy... BUT it was SO worth it. It is much lighter than the Canon version and takes absolutely stunning images. I love using primes, so this is the ideal set up for weddings, mini sessions, family sessions, portraits sessions, pets... you name it. I have other lenses for traveling and real estate photography, but this takes the cake for everything else I shoot.

Avid photographer here. I shoot mostly Sony and some Leica. I have used the Sigma DG DN II and the Sony 24-70mm GMII and I will say that this lens is better than both. The quality and speed are unmatched. It's not as heavy as I thought. The smooth zoom makes framing shots a snap. This will be on my camera a ton going forward.

This lens is a game changer!! I like it so much more than the other zoom lens 24-70mm f/2.8 I am used to shooting with the Sony 50mm GM f/1.2 and love the creaminess it produces. This lens does exactly that and easily replaces my 35 mm, 50 mm, and 85 mm. You will not regret this purchase. These are the photos I took with my Sony a7RV + Sony FE 28-70 F2 GM lens.

It’s great. Very happy with this purchase. It’s a little heavy, more than expected, but the sharpness and the aperture is fantastic. This has become my everyday lens.

Boxed my $2900 lens with no effort to protect it. Arrived damaged and had to return. Can’t even get a replacement through Best Buy as it’s sold out. Extremely poor quality control!

I Lost 24-70 f2.8 GM abd boy am I stoked I held out to buy this lens. The image quality is fantanstic and does excellent with video. Going from f2.8 to f2.0 doesnt seem significant to many but if you understand how a camera works, this is a full stop of light. The bokeh is beautiful, the auto focus is spot on. This lens in incredible. F1.8 would have been nice but dreamers can dream. The extra features allow you To select how smooth the zoom ring moves, as well as an iris lock. This lens has all the bells and whistles. 5/5 from me, first lens ive ever rated so high.

This lens has made my life easier. I first used this at a wedding gig and had no issues. It does lean on the heavier side but that didn't bother me. I wear medium size gloves in case anyone wants to compare hands and with hours of shooting and changing zoom ranges it didn't bother me in any way. I also used it on a recent trip and although I had no issues with it I would have rather preferred my 24-70 2.8 due to its size and easier to take in and out of the bag. Just convenience. Overall I think this lens is for anyone that does or is plans on doing professional work and/or projects. I'm not against it if its used for traveling however I am not suggesting it either.

Probably the nicest mid zoom I have used. Something magical about the images it produces. Even decided to sell my 50mm 1.2 GM however will keep my 85mm 1.4 GM Mk ii. Great job on the 28-70 F2 Sony!

As a photographer, I am constantly on the go and this lens has truely been a game changer. For the first time I have been able to replace all three of my primes and eventually my main zoom lens. That means I do not have to carry one 4 lenses anymore !!!

Incredibly sharp, even wide open. Ive been waiting on this lens since its announcement and couldnt wait to try it on my A7RV when it arrived today. Ive been using it all day and am blown away by the quality. You cant go wrong with this lens if you can afford it.

An excellent lens. Work perfectly for daily life. Especially, the lens performs well at dusk, making it perfect for capturing life after work.

This lens is sharp and a great buy if you do not already own the 24-70mm F2.8 GM2.

This lens is the perfect piece of equipment for a wedding photographer. 28-70 is a great range for wides and more intimate portraits. The f2 really shows off the bokeh at 70mm and is great for lowlight scenarios where I need something to still shoot quick at 1/250.

This lens is a beast! Tact sharp and extremely good auto focus!

Im an enthusiast, not a professional. As expected, the size and weight diffference versus the 24-70 f2.8 V2 is substantial. Unfortunately, this new lens underperformed versus the lens above in my testing. With a 15% restocking, this was a costly mistake on my part.

By far my favorite lens, All in one! I’ve used numerous prime lens but this is all I need!
