Despite the good reviews of the Samsung soundbar system, it’s performance became disappointing and unreliable. I had to find a better system. Following considerable research, I purchased the Sony HT-G700. Pairing the Sony soundbar with my Sony TV was a quick and easy install process. The surround sound produced from the Sony system is a tremendous improvement over the Samsung system and I couldn’t be happier.

I noticed that I had exceeded my goal. I decided to upgrade to a 4K UHD television to receive the full benefit. I was not disappointed. Great sound and the bar took minimal space on my cabinet. Very happy with the outcome and performance.

Easy set up plug and play matched up well with my Sony tv. Watching movies sound fluctuates so much have to keep turning the sound up and down depending on the movie seen, not sure if it’s the tv or just how movies are made anymore.

I have found that the majority of the built in speakers are a bit on the lighter side of audio quality. I have 2 other TVs with (the same model) soundbars and splurged with this purchase. (saved $100 when purchased with the TV) Definitely can tell the difference in quality. Setup with easy, integration was spot on. Sound quality is much better.

Subwoofer Bluetooth Connection Issues

Sound is great when it actually works but it's very inconsistent. Brought the system back into BestBuy to have it serviced and after three weeks they got it back to us saying they replaced a part that should fix the connection issues. Less than a week later we noticed it doing it again. Very disappointed in the product. Would not recommend. We'll bring it back to Bestbuy again and hope that we're not required to send it out a second time. I'd rather buy a different system.

We are really sorry you are encountering some connection issues between the soundbar and subwoofer causing the sound to cut in and out. It's unfortunate to know you consider returning the unit. This is usually not the case and the experience we wanted you to have. There are some things we’d like for you to try and see if we can resolve your audio cut-off. To isolate and hopefully resolve this issue, make sure your unit runs the latest firmware by performing a software update. The updates include key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

You may unplug them and plug them back again. Please ensure that any Wi-Fi router or modem is placed away from your audio as they may cause interference with the operation of your soundbar and speakers.

I just LOVE the rich sound it projects... certain movies and TV shows make me look around to make sure I'm on my sofa not the theater! It was very easy to set up and easy to use. There is one major issue, I'm using a HDMI connection and the sound sporadically cuts out and requires to power cycle the sound bar to work again. I purchased a optical cable and will try that and see if the issues continue with a different output. I'll try to update the review and rating afterwards.

We'd love to troubleshoot this and make this a better experience. First, please make sure that the software of the HT-G700 is up to date this will improve the overall performance of the soundbar please check this link on how to update the unit https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/home-theater-sound-bars-home-theater-systems/ht-g700/downloads/00017093. Resetting and Initializing the soundbar will also help troubleshoot the problem
Press MENU. [SPEAKER] appears in the front panel display.
Press up or down arrow to select [RESET], then press ENTER.
Press up or down arrow to select [ALL RESET], then press ENTER.
Press up or down arrow to select [START], then press ENTER.
All the settings return to their initial status.
If you are unable to reset using the menu, please try these steps.
Press and hold (power) and – (volume) on the bar speaker for more than 5 seconds. The settings return to their initial status.

If bass is not a big deal than this sound bar has good sound and several sound modes and loud. For me I need some good bass that you can feel. This does not have that. But best thing would to try it out to see if it works for you.

Amazing sound but dialog hard to hear.

BUT... to my ear and people living with me. The dialog can not be heard. I was constantly have to raise the volume to hear dialog and quickly down when the action happens. Ultimately I ended up returning it.
