Great Soundbar

It was a Samsung sound bar and I'd had it for over 10 years, so it was due to need an update. This Sony soundbar gives off great sound and excellent bass with the subwoofer. Was super easy to set up and has been working excellent!

LOW VOLUME

PS I am not deaf. My volume on TV is louder than this. My old Polk audio system was way better sound wise. We gave SONY a chance because we have a SONY TV and thought it would be better combatable. Unfortunately it was too late for me to return it and get something different.

The overall volume may vary depending on the source content. Aside from adjusting the volume, the soundbar features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources and a voice mode to make dialogs clearer. You can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control. For more details, please refer to the link below:

The older model was 2.1 and had very poor voice/center channel issues, but the physical upward firing atmos speakers were fantastic. This unit simulates atmos and doesn't do it well. Both units sub lacks real punch but acceptable. The voices and center channel on this unit alone make it a better choice, but don't expect quality atmos effect. If your looking primarily for Atmos, skip this unit. If you just need acceptable 3.1, this will work well. Note - the 7.1 simulated effect is as good as the Atmos, meaning not much. I'll likely upgrade this unit soon once I find a 3.1 with built in atmos speakers that work as good as the X9000F.

Please make sure that you enabled the eARC function to On to enable transfer of signal Dolby Atmos - Dolby TrueHD and DTS:X, or multichannel LPCM content using an HDMI cable by connecting the system and a TV compatible with eARC. The HDMI ARC hookup integrates and works with no effort required. The TV and soundbar immediately recognized each other, and paired without any additional settings needing to be adjusted. The TV and soundbar pair every time the TV is powered on, and I can use the TV remote the control the volume of both. The center channel makes it easier to hear and understand dialogue in various content. The subwoofer paired wirelessly to the sound bar, and works well. I did deduct 1 star as it doesn't seem to normalize volume across multiple inputs very well. Some inputs seem loud at volume 20, while others seem at a normal level at volume 45 or higher.

Not as good as Samsung's comparable Q70T

It lacks bass from the subwoofer I hear practically nothing out of it, and surrounding sounds. I have it paired with Sony XBR-43X800H. I just purchased Samsung's Q60T 43 inch tv with Samsung HW-Q70T sound bar and put it in another room to compare becasue when I buy my 80" TV system I want to know what is the best system, immediately upon setting up the Samsung system the sound was noticable better than the Sony which I was surprised. Not only do I hear bass from the subwoofer but I hear sounds of helmets and players as well as anouncer from center speaker. This Sony Htg700 I do not get that. Love the Q70T, like the HTG700.
