We simplified our set up by eliminating 4 speakers, center speaker, sub woofer and receiver than ran all the sound. Just as good as so much simpler. Quick easy set up. Had to replace a speaker so all three worked. But now having issues where it’s really quiet. I need to turn the volume up to higher levels in order to hear anything. Where that wasn’t issue before.

The sound quality is very good-much better than the built in spkrs. I would recommend this product.

Read all instructions on the manual of the sound system, and look through the TV/device/program settings you are using so that the settings are all consistent and compatible with each other. Bass could be slightly more prominent, but that's a personal preference. The remote is not very intuitive, and requires some getting-used-to. Otherwise if you're not looking to spend thousands on a sound system and your room is not huge, this is a strong choice.

When the input source does not contain much bass sound, such as in TV programs, the bass sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. You can adjust the subwoofer volume by pressing SW buttons on the remote control.

Not worth the stress

Subwoofer would cut out, soundbar would randomly stop communicating with tv and sometimes wouldn’t turn off or on. When it worked was great but too many hassles especially for the price. Went with a jbl now that was half the price with same functionality and same sound. Outside consoles I always have problems with Sony products idk why.

If your subwoofer isn’t adjacent to a wall in the corner, we recommend placing the subwoofer there to improve your bass performance. Please keep in mind that if the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear.

I have had multiple instances where the soundbar fails to produce any sound. I'm still unsure of what got the sound working again, but it may have been power cycling the product. I should note that I have not tried to update the firmware yet. I plan to try it, though I don't look forward to loading the update onto a USB drive and transferring it to the soundbar. It seems to me that there should be a way for the smart tv to handle that.

For the firmware update, you may check on this link for more information on how to update the soundbar. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/home-theater-sound-bars-home-theater-systems/ht-g700/downloads/00017093 (version 1.055). Also, please try these steps to troubleshoot the audio cut out issues.
- Disconnect the HDMI cable or the optical digital cable and then reconnect it
- Disconnect the cable from the soundbar and playback device and then reconnect the cable.
If the issue is resolved, the issue may have been caused by a faulty connection with the cable.
- If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
- If there is an obstacle between the bar speaker and the subwoofer, move or remove it.
- Do not cover the top of the bar speaker with metal objects such as TV frame, etc. Wireless functions may become unstable.
- Locate the bar speaker and the subwoofer as close as possible
