The subwoofer is definitely on the more anemic side but it more than makes up for it in clarity and power. I really appreciate the one e-Arc 4K HDMI input - it allows you to directly plug something up to the sound bar and utilize Dolby Atmos even if your TV can’t handle it. Most sound bars don’t have that option. As for sounding like more speakers than it is, the simulated surround sound is just fine. Occasionally sounds do feel like they’re around you, but if you really need that true surround effect, you’re not going for this system anyway.

Enjoying this Soundbar

I did do the latest firmware update to the soundbar which was recommended by Sony which was a little bit of a pain in the a.. because of the soundbar not having wifi or a ethernet connection and you had to use the usb connection on the soundbar using a usb drive and download the firmware from the Sony website but was still fairly easy to do..

This is my second sound bar have a older Sony sound bar, the HT-CT290/291 this one was great as well until a few months after purchase the subwoofer went out. Haven’t had a chance to get it fixed. But Sony in general have great products, all my TVs are Sony Bravia have them for years and no problem. So if your looking for a great sound at a reasonable price this is the ones.
