Movies and TV sounds great (especially Dolby optimized content). Music is a little tinny, whether streaming music or music from TV/film. Decent 3.1 system for a smaller room, with plenty of output. The wireless subwoofer really thumps and the 3.1 channel soundbar provides an outstanding surround sound atmosphere when watching movies, etc. It's also great to link other devices like your iPhone, iPad, etc. to the soundbar for playing music off of music apps. We got a great deal when we paired this purchase with a new Sony Bravia TV.

Standard Mode - This will allow you to hear the sound of a TV program clearly.
Cinema - This mode is suitable for watching movies. You feel immersed by the sound that travels behind you and surrounds your entire body
Music - Vividness, and glossiness of the sound are expressed in detail. This mode is suitable for enjoying music in a way that moves you
You can also use AUTO SOUND mode which will change the Sound Mode from Standard, Cinema, and Music based on the content played.

It wasn't what I expected. It had great sound and definitely for movie theater but if you are looking for a full experience and to be immersed in the sound, this is not it. The subwoofer was great for the really low bass and the highs were really good in the bar, but mid range gets lost between the two. So I felt I was missing some of the experience. Last thing, the subwoofer went out right on the 15th day. Thankful it went out in time for me to return. I bought it open box in all fairness.

For a truly immersive listening experience, we recommend turning on the IMMERSIVE AE function.
And also, try selecting MUSIC mode. This mode is suitable for enjoying music as compared to CINEMA mode which is more suitable for watching movies.
