I had just purchased a 50 inch Sony TV. My kids were right! I enjoy the sound quality very much! I am a movie goer and have missed the sound element of the threater! Sony 3.1 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer

It’s a great product and works well. Ideally it would be for a smaller room or for two people watching. I would say it does NOT blow your hair back. If your looking for intense clear sound with amazing bass this is NOT it. Overall my needs were small so I am happy with it.

Technician was professional and very efficient and knew what he was doing.

However, at lower volume levels, the dialogue is barely understandable while background ( music, explosions, ads, etc.) still wake up the entire house. I have only found one adjustment on the tv to control volume leveling, but it does not seem to control sound bar operations. We seldom use the sound bar anymore.

Posted .Hi VolumeLeveling, We are sorry to hear that the HTG700 did not meet all of your expectations when it comes to the volume level and that you are having a hard time hearing the dialogue. We'd love to troubleshoot the problems and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please make sure that the soundbar Night Mode setting is disabled. Please use the Sony Remote to enable/disable the Night Mode on the Soundbar.
For the dialogue, setting the Voice function to On will make dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range on the HTG700 Soundbar. This can be enabled or disabled by pressing the Voice button on the Sony Remote.

They did a wonderful job. I am very satisfied with the sound quality that this soundbar puts out. I later purchased a 2.1 sound bar for my TV mounted in my garage. The 2.1 sound bar does not come anywhere close to the quality produced by this 3.1 sound bar .

Doesn’t always come on auto when I turn on the tv. When it doesn’t turn on automatically it takes too long to come on. Can’t tell much difference between modes.

Another disposable product

Best Buy and two separate repair shops told me that they dont work on them and to just trash it. Everything is disposable anymore. I'm done with Sony products.

ATMOS is somewhat lacking as, regardless of what Sony says, synthesizing ATMOS from from-firing speakers is just not as effective as directing the sound from top-firing, which this bar lacks. Would also have liked more user-adjustable settings like Subwoofer cutoff frequency and some way to better sculpt sound to room shape. If you want a decent sounding bar that automatically adjust to the broadcast and gives improvement to your TV’s speakers this one does a decent job. Just don’t expect booming bass from the subwoofer, even at maximum setting.

Sony Sound Bar not the problem

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bundled with the Sony TV purchase, had it installed by Best Buy's team for a fee at the end of December 2020. After the first week the TV stopped communicating with the sound bar but the DVR which is hooked up to the Sony TV connects just fine with the sound bar on its port. Of course, Best Buy says it is the sound bar and the extended warranty on the TV I bought doesn't cover it. So I called Sony and they fixed over the phone for FREE. 2nd week the TV sound from the sound bar stops working again but the DVR connected to the TV works great with the sound bar. Seems there is a pattern here and it is not the sound bar, it is the TV.
