The sounds was clear and it got louder than the TVs speakers. But I was wanting more. I ended up returning and spending the extra money for a more powerful system.

Small Apartment Renters, Beware!

I decided to return the sound bar after five days of use. The sound quality was fine for the price, but unfortunately, the bass from this unit’s subwoofer was much too powerful for the small one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in which I live. This unit has the capability to adjust the subwoofer level independent of the main volume, so I had thought bass level would not be a problem. However, with the subwoofer turned down low enough to be comfortable for my living situation, this unit actually sounds hollow, boxy, and worse for general use than the TV speakers (which sound shockingly good for built-in speakers, due to Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio+ tech in the A80J). If you live in an apartment, this probably is not a good choice of soundbar for you. A unit with no subwoofer will likely be a better fit for your space.
