However it regularly cuts the audio out and constantly tries to change audio format making for a sour experience overall. I'll be returning it tomorrow to get the Bose system I originally wanted.

If you still have the unit, we'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.
Unplug the Soundbar power cord and plug it back in
1. Turn off the soundbar.
2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
3. After one minute, replug the power cable back to the wall outlet.
4. Turn on the soundbar.
Verify if this resolves the issue.
- Disconnect the HDMI cable or the optical digital cable and then reconnect it
- Disconnect the cable from the soundbar and playback device and then reconnect the cable.
If the issue is resolved, the issue may have been caused by a faulty connection with the cable.
- If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
- If there is an obstacle between the bar speaker and the subwoofer, move or remove it.
- Do not cover the top of the bar speaker with metal objects such as TV frame, etc. Wireless functions may become unstable.
- Locate the bar speaker and the subwoofer as close as possible

This model is a little hallow and tinny sounding but its not horrible and for the price is still really worth it.

We truly appreciate your input with the sound quality. The loudness as well as the sound quality of this soundbar will also depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. The HT-G700 features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources. If you haven't yet, you can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control.

We also suggest having the HT-G700 placed closer to the ear level to allow you to hear more details. If the bar is mounted low, you may not have the best listening experience.

Beware of subpart support options

My soundbar sounds great when it works, but it is frequently losing connection with the wireless sub while we watch shows. The sub is 3 feet away from the bar and there is nothing blocking line of sight between the two. I reached out to support and followed the steps to upgrade firmware, factory reset, unpair and pair, etc.. The support rep came to the conclusion that the unit needed to be "repaired" and sent me a shipping label to send the unit across the country to New York(residing in UT) This is pretty disappointing as I don't really have another option for a sound bar and for how much these sound bars cost, I would expect a better experience that doesn't involve shipping the device like that. Not to mention I don't have the original box so I have no idea how I'm supposed to ship this. Not happy at all with my experience with Sony Support.

The sound from the actual sound bar itself is great and loud but the sub is only average. Just wish you could turn the level of the sound bar down so that it would make the subwoofer appear louder. That's what I did on my old Sony sound bar

The subwoofer is designed for playback of bass or low-frequency sound. If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. Play the built-in demonstration music by following the steps below and check that the sound is output from the subwoofer. The subwoofer cuts in and out frequently. The sound also randomly goes out on speaker while power remains on. I have to powers down and back on to fix this. I should return it for a new model.
