    The price was right but the sound is not what i expected it is not very loud and the voices are hard to hear even with the clear voice on had a cheaper unit that this replaced that had good sound and could hear the voices clearly. Its not bad but just not what i had hoped for.

While we are glad to hear that you are happy with your new HTG700, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties hearing the dialogue on the HTG700 Soundbar. Setting the Voice function to On will make dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range on the HTG700 Soundbar. This can be enabled or disabled by pressing the Voice button on the Sony Remote. Also, please check if the night mode is enabled. If so, please disable the night mode feature.

    Sounds great... when it works! drops surround sound quite often when we are watching a program, doesn't matter if it's netflix, hbo nor hulu, happens on everything. Not extremely happy about it not pairing with the TV that we purchased the same day Sony - 65" Class X85J Series LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV.

While we're glad you like the sound quality, we regret to hear you are having a sound issue with your HT-G700. This is not the experience we want you to have. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Follow the steps below to isolate the issue.

      - Make sure that both the TV and soundbar have the latest firmware update. Downloads are posted on your model support page at https://www.sony.com/electronics/support.
      - Turn off the soundbar, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on, audio will resume.
      • If you're streaming Dolby Atmos® or DTS:X™ audio formats, it may go out again.
      - Disable eARC functionality from the TV side.
      • On the TV remote control, press the Home button.
      • Select Display & Sound → Audio output → eARC mode → OFF

      Note: This will disable the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio and down convert to LPCM / Dolby Digital® format.

    Not really worth the money

    Sound quality is not that great. I had a old Samsung sound bar before and it out preformed this system and it was half the size. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong sub is just not strong at all.

      Thank you for your review. We sincerely regret that the sound quality of our HT-G700 didn't live up to your expectations. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our premium soundbar. The loudness as well as the sound quality of this soundbar will depend on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. We are not sure what brand/model of TV/Projector you had our HT-G700 connected to. However, you may try adjusting various settings related to the sound settings of the TV/Projector and soundbar to isolate the problem. For the HT-G700, this soundbar features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources and voice mode to make dialogs clearer. If you haven't yet, you can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control. We also suggest having your HT-G700 placed closer to the ear level to allow you to hear more details. If the bar is mounted low, you may not have the best listening experience.

    It sounded much better in the Best Buy store than it did in my house I did the adjustments that I thought were correct but after 30 days I thought maybe it was me but I had other people to the house and it wasn’t they said that for the money it didn’t sound right so I returned it

    Sub par in every sense of the word. If it was 200-250$ I'd give 5* but given the cost the performance was atrocious. Definitely doesn't deserve to have atmos anywhere on the box. I went with the vizio 5.1 v series instead. I'd start looking that direction to save your time and money, Excellent experience with them.

    Sony is the way to go! Hands down have had a flat screen Bravia since 2010 never had a problem with it. Sony sound bar equally as good.

    Disappointed when paired with Sony tv

    Disappointed. Really thought a New Sony Bravia and new sound bar would work better together. Had Best Buy install so its not like I screwed something up. Every time I turn the tv on it starts as tv audio then the sound bar says please wait and the the tv says switching audio. Takes about 10 seconds so you’re waiting for it to happen to adjust the volume down quick when kiddo is sleeping. Every time I FF or Rewind my Directv there is 5 seconds of no sound which is really annoying unless I turn the Dolby Digital off making it just a basic speaker. Have the subwoofer at full volume but doesn’t do much until I turn the tv up way too loud for my small living room. A cheaper Polk system and it sounds way better.

    A Rare Disappointment from SONY

    I had high hopes that this high end Sony sound bar would improve the sound from my Sony 65 inch OLED TV. Unfortunately, the volume still has to be at very high levels in order to hear it! Since I’ve already attached it to the wall in my house, I’m not really able to return it. Oh well.

The soundbar has pre-programmed sound effects that are tailored to different kinds of sound sources. Also, please make sure that the night mode is disabled. This outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialog. Please press NIGHT on the soundbar remote to set the function on or off.

When the sound does not match the pictures on the TV screen, you can adjust the delay between the picture and sound by going to MENU > AUDIO SETTINGS > (A/V Sync). You can adjust from 0 msec to 120 msec in 40 msec increments.
