    Average-Wireless Sub cuts out

    Good product, great sound, my issue is the wireless sub cuts out and cuts out often for me. It happens when using it with comcast cable or my ps5 or bluetooth to cell. Its very frustrating only happens for 20 seconds to 90 seconds but its enough to be frustrating. I need to read book to see if I can just go wired, but I dont think there was no other cables/wires in box. Defiantly not worth the money, but its capable of 4k throughput soo I purchased it.

We'd love to troubleshoot the problem and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.

      First, please make sure that the soundbar is up to date with the firmware (version 1.055) as this will improve the overall performance of the soundbar.       Unplug the Soundbar power cord and plug it back in

      1. Turn off the soundbar.
      2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
      3. After one minute, replug the power cable back to the wall outlet.
      4. Turn on the soundbar.

      Verify if this resolves the issue.

      - Disconnect the HDMI cable or the optical digital cable and then reconnect it
      - Disconnect the cable from the soundbar and playback device and then reconnect the cable.

      If the issue is resolved, the issue may have been caused by a faulty connection with the cable.

      - If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
      - If there is an obstacle between the bar speaker and the subwoofer, move or remove it.
      - Do not cover the top of the bar speaker with metal objects such as TV frame, etc. Wireless functions may become unstable.
      - Locate the bar speaker and the subwoofer as close as possible

    It is either too loud or you can't hear what they are saying. Tried every different setting can't seem to make it work. Going to return it.

If you still have the soundbar, setting the Voice function to On will make dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range on the HTG700 Soundbar.     I like that it has Bluetooth Capabilities however the power it’s not there. What’s the sound bar I was expecting it to have more power and a clear sound

For this, please make sure that the Night Mode of the soundbar is off you can enable/disable this function using the Sony Remote. and please try and set the Voice function to On.     Great Sound and Bass

    The soundbar is very sleek, though not small, and delivers great sound and bass from the paired wireless subwoofer. I ran the soundbar setup via both HDMI and Optical cable to test superiority between the two. I did find the HDMI arc produces better audio for voice as it directs it via the center channel, its possible optical still does the same, but I just found the voice audio to be not as loud, requiring the volume level to be turned up rather high; it then made other scenes especially with music extremely loud. 99.99% of my TV viewing is ran through the Roku platform and thus all of it is streaming. The missing 1 star from the rating comes from "Dolby Atmos" capability. This product, like others I have used, do not create the top down sound through artificial means to be claimed as Dolby Atmos, it dosen't even come across as surround sound. Even the sets that are surround sound, with the directional speakers from a soundbar to bounce the sound of ceiling or whatever digital wizardry is used still doesn't produce what Dolby Atmos has intended for the platform. Unfortunately, the Sony HT-G700 falls into that same category. It is a great soundbar for sure with excellent sound for standard tv watching and big bass and thus greatly enhances any set's built-in speakers, but the Dolby Atmos badge I think is misleading for what that platform is actually trying to bring. One aspect I did like is that I did test my Roku 4K Premium (not a stick version) via the HDMI ARC and had no issues with functionality, as some HDMI ARC soundbars I have tried in the past did not work well with that setup. Another huge plus is the simplicity of wall mounting only requires user provided screws. Sony provides the template. Sony also took the extra time to engineer the inputs to be at an angle, instead of parallel or perpendicular to the wall. This greatly reduces cable strain and makes the mounting an easier task. I also like that the power cord is not hard wired; that is just a personal pet peeve. My last soundbar was also a Sony and while it is still a great soundbar, in comparison the HT-G700 produces a more rich sound across the low to high ranges. The upgrade to 3.1 from 2.1 to definitely is noticeable. I cannot say I am disappointed in this soundbar as it does do a great job and I really didn't expect to get a surround sound experience out of a 3.1 setup, nor a Dolby Atmos one. If looking for the Dolby Atmos though, my opinion, is it can only truly be achieved with a custom in ceiling speaker setup. Outside of that, I really don't have any complaints about this soundbar and can easily recommend it over a lesser soundbar of 2.1 variation and definitely over built-in speakers.

    I bought a Sony oled and wanted to go all Sony with,y sound as well. The clerk starred me away from other products and said this was a great sound bar. It wasn’t. It was terrible. Super weak. I have bought soundbars for half this price that sounded better. I returned it the next day. When I glanced at the open box section at Best Buy, I noticed a lot of these units were returned. I don’t recommend

    Can’t understand words

    I bought this based on the salesperson’s suggestions. I am past the return period which is disappointing. I literally can’t understand what people say. My soundbar is far from the couch, however, I expect more than this. I work long hours and haven’t had a chance to return it, plus I mounted it. I have also had an issue with it having no sound, prompting me to have to turn it on and off again to work. I highly suggest you research these issues.

      The overall volume may vary depending on the source content. Make sure to try multiple sources. Check if night mode is disabled. Night mode function outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialogue. Press the NIGHT button on the supplied remote to set the function on or off.

    Sound quality is not what I expect from Sony. Volume has to be turned up really loud to hear subwoofer. Dolby sound is low and muffled. Playing music via bluetooth sounds better on my sony bluetooth speaker than on this system. System turns on automatically when I turn on my TV even though I have it set not to do that. I didn't return it because I thought maybe I just needed to study the user guide and learn the system better. Big mistake on my part.

    Sounds great playing ps5. But when watching movies or shows we had to turn the volume up to around 70 just to hear talking then when music or something loud happens we was having to turn it back down really fast. Lacks in bass alot also. Returned for a JBL and it blows at least this sony one out of the water.

    HDMI port failed after a week; Sony couldn’t fix

    A week after I started using the HDMI in port on my Sony HTG700 soundbar, the video started to deteriorate, and within a few hours completely failed. This is my second HTG700 to have the this issue. I had an Apple TV 4K(ATV) plugged into to the HDMI in port on the soundbar. The HDMI out port of the soundbar was plugged into the HDMI 3 ARC port of our Sony Bravia X900f TV. At first, everything worked fine. But after about a week, we noticed that the video from the ATV began to deteriorate. First we noticed white dots in the black part the picture, and then after a few hours the video signal failed completely. If I restarted everything, sometimes the Apple TV video came back briefly, but then iT failed again. I tried resetting the soundbar; sometimes that worked for a few minutes, but then video signal failed again. I was using high speed cables, and if I plugged the ATV directly into the TV, everything worked fine. (Of course then I lost support for ATMOS, which is why I purchased the HTG700 in the first place.) Also, if the soundbar was off while the ATV was plugged in the soundbar, the video was fine. Sent it Sony for repair, they couldn’t duplicate. Sorry Sony, I am returning this and switching brands.

    Looks great but very disappointed in the operation. It will just cut out sound at random. You then have to switch to TV speakers for a minute or so then back to the external speakers. It does it during watching Dish and Netflix, Hulu and Prime. Just replaced all HDMI cables but still same issue. Was setup by the Geek squad but looks like I will need to do a factory reset and start over. May be returned soon.
