    Not worth the cost AT ALL. The tv had better sound

    NOT worth the money at all. The sound from the sound bar was no better than the sound from the Sony TV it was mated too. The sound is bland, tho not bad. The sub was basically non-existant in the room. Certainly not worth the cost. Solution? Returned to Best Buy!

    This sound bar markets as Dolby atmos and was looking for a sound system in my projector room. Nothing exciting about this system as it sounds very normal and feels its very over priced. We can get way better sound bars for less than the price its tagged. Can easily skip!

This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our premium soundbar. The loudness as well as the sound quality of this soundbar will depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. We are not sure what brand/model of TV/Projector you had our HT-G700 connected to. However, you may try adjusting various settings related to the sound settings of the TV/Projector and soundbar to isolate the problem. For the HT-G700, this soundbar features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources and voice mode to make dialogs clearer. If you haven't yet, you can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control. We also suggest having your HT-G700 placed closer to the ear level to allow you to hear more details. If the bar is mounted low, you may not have the best listening experience.     Quirky not in a good way

    I have a Sony tv and sometimes the sound bar randomly turns on after I turn the tv off. When that happens I need to turn the sound bar on with its control. Also, the sounds are different when I use my Apple TV vs XFinity. I really didn’t want to have to use the sound remote after setting it up.

    So I do not know where to start. I had zero expectations when I received the Sony 3.1 Channel sound bar with wireless subwoofer. I have never used any Sony speakers. I’ve only used Polk Audio, Samsung, Boss, LG, and VIZIO. This setup blows all of the above mentioned out of the water! I’ve never heard so much sound coming out of one speaker bar. It isn’t just loud, it is truly Dolby Atmos without above firing speakers. When you watch your movies, it will feel like you are at an actual movie theater. The bass is strong, and the kids and highs are all there. Even the vocals come through with their technology to boost speech so you do not constantly have to turn up the sound to hear the speach, then turn it back down because the over all volume is too loud. It has an auto selection mode as well. So it will choice it’s best sound depending upon what is playing through the speakers. I’ve tested music, YouTube videos, Netflix, and the Bluetooth audio. It all sounds amazing! I have had this unit for about a week now, and I have not ran into any issues. Without making comparisons, the Sony setup is definitely better than any speaker bar and wireless subwoofer combo I’ve ever used. I will say after using Sony’s speakers, I may have to test out one of their TVs just because this product was so high quality. I would recommend this setup to anyone looking for a newer speaker bar and wireless sub setup in 2020. My Polk audio setup was bought in 2010, and it needed to be replaced. I’m thankful that Sony came out with this setup so I could be able to use it.

    SUBWOOFER FAIL. The subwoofer doesn’t really kick in until higher volumes. Highs and vocals sound okay but the bass is missing until you crank the volume louder than you really want it. I have the sub set at 12 which is the max and I’m highly disappointed. Sorry Sony but this is a fail.

    Keep shopping. I am sure there’s better out there. The sound is very mono with no way of changing it. I used a gift card so this purchase was basically free for me. Otherwise I would have returned it to get my money back.

    Sony soundbar disappointing

    This was our first sound bar, and we were very disappointed. This soundbar supposedly has a separate channel dedicated to dialog, to make dialog easier to hear. We had just the opposite experience. Dialog was hard to make out unless we turned the volume up so high it boomed through the whole condo and risked disturbing our neighbors. We ended up unplugging the soundbar and just using the TV's built-in speakers. We also noticed that volume tended to build and abate on its own, requiring us to adjust volume with the remote periodically in order to return to the level of sound we wanted.

Setting the Voice function to On will make dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range on the HTG700 Soundbar. This can be enabled or disabled by pressing the Voice button on the Sony Remote. You may also try the Night mode feature of the HTG700. Night mode function outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialogue.

    This thing is so bad on so many levels. It somehow manages to be *extremely* bright on the soundbar with very muddy center channel/dialog. And you might as well disconnect the sub because it does next to nothing. The sub volume goes up to 12, but it needs to go up to 50 because no matter the source, no matter the material, it just barely makes a rumbling noise. I spend half a day playing with every setting that exists on this thing and nothing helps - the muddy dialog on the center channel and absence of any sub is a deal breaker. Bringing it back.

    First off, this soundbar system looks great. The soundbar is really attractive and I quite like the LEDs that indicate different modes and settings that is hidden under the grill. It’s a nice touch. Setup was also incredibly simple. Pairing the subwoofer to the soundbar was a breeze and took just but a few seconds. I do wish the power cords were a bit longer as they seemed a little short. I plugged it in to a Sony TV via HDMI eARC and it worked flawlessly in syncing up with my TV’s audio where you can just use the TV remote and the volume changes on the soundbar. Sound quality is for the most part incredible. Listening to it in 3.1 mode is fantastic with a clear distinction of dialogue coming from the center channel. You can also enable this Immersive Audio mode which simulates 7.1.2 audio. I was skeptical but this worked quite well! Being able to have close-to complete surround sound while not having to have speakers strewn about your living room is pretty sweet. The clarity of mids and highs is really crisp. Quite impressive compared to a much more expensive system I also have in my home. Although the clarity and sound effects from the soundbar are great, I found the subwoofer to slightly muddled especially with very low frequencies. That is probably the weak point of this product but for the price of this system, I think it is perfectly in line and it’s hard to expect perfection since it’s a pretty good value for all the other features that it has.

    Probably the first time I’ve ever been really disappointed with an electronics purchase. Subwoofer is astounding, sound balancing is all over the place even after recommended settings and adjustments.
