It is unfortunate to hear you are having an audio issue with your HT-G700 3.1ch Dolby Atmos®/ DTS:X™ Soundbar. This is definitely not the news that we would like to hear. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience.
The sound quality of this soundbar usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. While are not sure what brand/model of TV/audio video device you had our HT-G700 connected to, you may try adjusting various settings related to the sound settings of the TV/audio video device and soundbar to isolate the problem. For the HT-G700, this soundbar features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources and voice mode to make dialogs clearer. If you haven't yet, you can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control. For more details, please refer to the below:

Don’t buy this system

Great buy at this price!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The first upgrade I make when I get a new TV is to look for a new sound bar, and this one fit the bill. Out of the box setup was quick and simple. Connected it to my TV using the optical input and plugged in the sub woofer, and BOOM! Done! Sound was really good off the bat… I always mess around with the settings and did tweak them a bit to optimize the sound for my room and TV. Now I like it even more. Looking at other sound bars in this price point w/ a subwoofer included and this one really does feel like a great value. One thing I noticed right away and LOVED on this sound bar is that when switching channels the volume doesn’t fluctuate very much…. On my old sound bar, if I was browsing the channels going from a talk show to a movie or action scene, the volume would be VERY different on every channel and it drove me crazy… I understand some of that isn’t on the sound bar, but it was very noticeable with my last model, and hardly noticeable with this one. Voices are clear and loud, action sequences are fun to watch on this too, it’s pretty amazing how this sounds like you have surround sound, but the audio is coming from one sound bar. This is a great buy at this price!

Poor sound quality

Night mode function outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialogue. Also, please make sure the input source is selected correctly. You may also use one of the sound modes of the HTG700 to further enhance your listening experience.
Standard Mode - This will allow you to hear the sound of a TV program clearly.
Cinema - This mode is suitable for watching movies. You feel immersed by the sound that travels behind you and surrounds your entire body
Music - Vividness, and glossiness of the sound are expressed in detail. This mode is suitable for enjoying music in a way that moves you
You can also use AUTO SOUND mode which will change the Sound Mode from Standard, Cinema, and Music based on the content played.

In the meantime, setting the Voice function to On will make dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range on the HTG700 Soundbar. This can be enabled or disabled by pressing the Voice button on the Sony Remote. You may also try the Night mode feature of the HTG700. Night mode function outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialogue.

Big Sound, Small footprint
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Sony - 3.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is a nice solidly made soundbar. Black blends in well just about any entertainment system. Setup and installation was quite simple and straightforward. Two power plugs one for the soundbar and one for the wireless subwoofer. A HDMI cable to to the TV. That's all it took. The clarity of audio from the soundbar is quite amazing for the price point. Plus the option to adjust different settings for different types of audio is a nice feature. The wireless subwoofer is adequate. It does add to the bottom end, however if you're looking for room shaking bass, well it isn't there. Would be great for an apartment or a bedroom. I do like how the soundbar performs with spatial sound.
