Best Soundbar for HDMI Access
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The best feature of this soundbar is the fact that it has two HDMI input ports. Most of todays soundbars only include one HdMI input for all your devices! But, who has just one device that they want connected to their soundbar system!?! I guess these companies expect you to use the HDMI ARC, which, in my opinion, is inferior tech! ARC is difficult to set up, errs half the time, and most of the time includes unacceptable lip-sync issues that are uncorrectable! This Sony soundbar takes care of those problems by including a second HDMI port and it does so at a highly reasonable price. I could not have been more satisfied with this purchase! Thank you Sony!!

Please try to disconnect the cables that are connected between the TV and the system, then connect them firmly again. Disconnect the AC power cords (mains leads) of the TV and the system from the AC outlets (mains), then connect them again. Make sure the unit is updated to improve its performance: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/ht-g700/software/00278528. The updates also include key features, applications, and bug fixes. Feel free to test the soundbar again and verify if it resolves the issue.

Priced high for what it is.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a klipsch 400 and i went to buy a Klipsch 600 and they didnt have any in stock. So this sales tells me the sony is better. Its not, my smaller Klipsch is better sounding. Should have waited but unfortunately i burnt the box. Plus the price is too high for the sound quality. I will say the Bluetooth range is farther. Bur that’s it.

HTG700

The sound can be max'd at 100% and even sitting 5 - 7" away from the sound bar you can still carry on a conversation on the phone. The sound of my TV is louder than this sound bar. I have spoken with Geek Squad regarding both sound bars and Sony also did trouble shooting. The Sony rep indicated this bar will not be very loud. since it only has 3 channels. Yet what was demoed in the store was much louder. Well, if I am standing in my kitchen I should not have any problem hearing the TV while preparing dinner. I paid $400 for this sound bar. Best Buy is now selling for $500. Definitely not worth the money.

Horrible garbage from Sony

I purchase this sound bar subwoofer and surround speakers from Best buy but did not buy their purchase protection so I ended up having to go through Sony for the warranty. Please do your research folks these systems cut out all the time. The subwoofer cuts out the surround comes out. A packaged it up and sent it out to New York where somebody wanted me to to get it prepared with a nice letter saying why it cuts out and when and they sent it back saying everything is fine and there's nothing wrong and that there was a tiny nick in the back corner bottom of the subwoofer so therefore all warranties are void. The cutting out of these speakers is a huge problem. So many people have had so many problems with these speakers and it seems a lot of the reviews are purged. Nobody was willing to do anything either Best buy or Sony. And now I'm stuck with over $1,000 a stereo equipment that is junk. Terrible service all around.

Connection issues make it unusable.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible. Constant connection issues due to weak transmitter, and flaw in software. Connection to sub and rear speakers cuts in and out constantly. I mean to say "constantly" as in multiple times every few seconds. So distracting as to be worse than nothing at all. Doesn't matter how close or far the sub is away. The problem is wifi band interference. Found a way to fix it temporarily, but the system will automatically revert back to channel with most interference after a day to a week. A software update could fix this. Sony knows all of this and they know how to fix it, but they've apparently abandoned this soundbar. Last update was in 2020. DO NOT BUY. Google search "htz9f cutting in and out". You'll find hundreds of horror stories just like mine, as well a Sony's complete lack of response.

We are really sorry you are encountering an audio issue with our HT-Z9F. This is usually not the case and the experience we wanted you to have on our premium soundbar.
There are some things we’d like for you to try and see if we can resolve your audio cut-off.
First, verify the HDMI cables you are using are rated for high speed and are at least 18 Gbps cables. Try replacing them if you have not. Next, ensure CEC control is enabled on the soundbar and your TV. You’ll need to refer to your TV's manual, and for the soundbar, it’s on page 64 of this link https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4727/d3668cdaf4f83107b52ee9bdb84fa5a0/47275331M.pdf.
Please ensure that any Wi-Fi router or modem is placed away from your audio as they may cause interference with the operation of your soundbar and speakers.
You can also try this procedure if the drop-off is caused by wireless interference within your home:  https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/home-theater-sound-bars-home-theater-systems/ht-z9f/articles/00200429.
When doing this RF Channel procedure, please ensure the connection process takes 1 minute to connect. If the connection process takes less than 15 seconds, repeat the operation a second time. Once that is done, you may also perform the Secure Link operation which is shown on page 33 of this link https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4727/d3668cdaf4f83107b52ee9bdb84fa5a0/47275331M.pdf.

Big price, small sound

Right away we noticed the lack of mid range sound and the voices were hard to hear. We turned the volume up only to find it doesn't even come close to filling our 12' by 12' livingroom. We will be sticking with the old soundbar for now. Very disappointed.

For clear dialogues we recommend to try and set the voice function to on, this will make the dialogues easily heard by enhancing dialogue range.
For the volume level please make sure that the night mode is disabled. Night mode function outputs the sound at low volume with minimum loss of fidelity and clarity of dialogue. Also, please make sure the input source is selected correctly. You should try other input sources by pressing INPUT repeatedly.
