Honest Review: The idea of the portal is amazing, but you need to be ready to connect your Ps5 to the internet through a LAN cable. Too much of Lag while playing games if your ps5 is only connected on wifi. You will not enjoy the ps portal if all the devices are only connected to the wifi network. It is actually frustrating when you are ready to play a game but there is frequent disconnections. I had to return my portal back due to all these reasons.

This PlayStation portal is awesome. It is exactly what my husband wanted. He wanted something he could play his ps5 on even away from home, he originally got a backbone for his phone from another place, but it would not work very great. Then when he saw this at best buy I got it for him for Christmas and he said it works great! He can play it anywhere with wifi or a hotspot and the quality on the device is perfect. Even I have started to enjoy it as well. Highly recommend!

Honestly thought this was going to suck and i was going to return it after a day. Well I'm not ever returning it. If you have a good internet connection and ps pro it works amazing. Super impressed with this accessory to the PS

I’ve been using my iPad paired with a dualsense for remote play since I’ve had my PS5, but this is just so much better and more convenient. Now, I can literally play my PS5 games just about anywhere and not have to worry about having somewhere to place my iPad while playing. The pottal also does great with reconnecting if it drops connection unlike the remote play app on tablets/phones. I tried a backbone for a while but hated tying up my phone to use just for that. My only complaints so far are that the touchpad integration feels kinda thrown in, and I’m also not a huge fan of the PS button placement. It’s not perfect, no…but I’ve been loving it since I got it.

I recently bought a console, but I travel for work and was disappointed that I wouldn’t get to use my console at home much. I was on the fence about this until the newest update came out for cloud streaming. This portal is AMAZING. The only downfall is having to pay for the PlayStation plus premium if you want to use it on the go and not have to worry about your console at home being in rest mode. I do love the fact that I can be using the portal and the console at the same time, as long as two accounts are being used.

Great for playing games around the house if you don't want to move your console or someone else is using the TV. Does take some getting used to playing on it but you get used to it quickly. I do really like how they have the controller handles compared to other handheld consoles. I think that's what separates this from others.

The streaming on this thing is much better than I had originally thought. When I first got it, it was dropping frame rate a little bit so I was a little concerned. Then I realized that my PS5 was not connected via Ethernet. Once I updated it, I haven’t had many issues since. Love it.

I bought this because I would like to be out of my bed when I am playing games. Pros: - very good for adventure, JRPG, casual games. -beautiful screen. LCD screen but good quality. I don't notice backlight bleed. cons: - not for fast paced games where reaction time is very important. - not recommended for FPS games, latency is okay, but you will feel it. -also, I don't recommend this to horror game fans. it is an LCD panel, so you'll notice greyish instead of deep black on dark scenes. ** you need a ps5 to play on this** **this accessory is for casual gamers** if you have extra money - buy this if you like single payer games and don't wanna be tied on your tv. or buy the ps5 edge controller if you're always playing FPS or any fast-paced games that rely on reaction time.

For those whining about this…I’m not sure it’s fair to judge this item based in what it DOESN’T do…I’m not sure that’s the point of a customer review. If i wanted a detailed level of analysis on what this product should or could be, I’d look up ign or cnet lol. With that said, this product does exactly what’s advertised. It’s a remote player for your ps5, best used around the house. It’s perfect for when my tv is being used or i want to get some gaming in while in bed or lounging elsewhere. The screen is beautiful and while yes, i have a Backbone, this works so seamlessly and automatically. The controller is solid and feels just loke a dualsense in your hand. Yes, you need a reliable internet connection that isn’t choppy lol. Trying to download or update something on your ps5 while using might also cause some lag. All in all, big ups to Sony and I recommend to all my fellow casual gamers that just don’t want to be stuck or restricted by their main tv’s. Hardcore gamers looking for a ps Vita replacement will be disappointed.

The PlayStation portal is a joy to own. It is a convenient device that allows me to enjoy my favorite PS5 titles in the palm of my hand. I love its sleek design, and its display is so gorgeous. It lets me wake my console from sleep mode, which is incredible, and I can't wait to play future titles on it! It

At it's core. This device is FANTASTIC for streaming PS5 games in(or out) of your home provided you have a sufficient wireless network and/or knowledge to improve it. That said, your streaming performance is based on that ALONE. The device itself could use some NATIVE cloud streaming which would make it WAY more attractive for the $200 price point. Lack of Bluetooth is not a complete deal breaker for me personally but I can understand why others would have an issue with it. Controller is best in class(obviously the dual-sense features are top notch) and trump all others configs/controllers on that alone and streaming has some minor hiccups here and there with regards to dropped frames(which seemingly are due to HDR and/or unplugging the HDMI cable as per reddit) but I am sure that knowing sony the device will be improved upon over time via firmware updates. In short, temper expectations with this device and look for great PS5 game streaming and/or cloud streaming (in the future hopefully via firmware update) and forget any thoughts of doing anything on the device natively due to mid tier(Qualcomm) chipset.

The PlayStation portal is a Great device. It allows you to play your PlayStation 5 without being tethered to the TV. Since I've had it that it's been my favorite way to play my PlayStation in a way. However, that comes at a cost sometimes. If the internet is not great then it suffers because it is a remote player, not a stand-alone console. If you're downloading something else while trying to stream at the same time, your game play suffers. However, when things are great with this device, things are really great. The visual quality is great. The gameplay feels like a PlayStation. 5. Dual sense in your hand. The screen puts out very well, so I think that if you were to buy it, knowing that this is not a Nintendo switch, where's a standalone device okay? If you're okay with that, then you should have no problems with this device because it is quite fine.
