As a customer, the PlayStation Portable delivered an incredible handheld experience. The graphics were outstanding, the game library was diverse and engaging, and the system felt premium and innovative. It provided console-quality entertainment on the go and remains one of my favorite gaming devices.

Its mostly a great device but the Wifi antenna could be stronger. There can be a little lag at times even when connected to strong signal. If you are playing arc raiders or call of duty it might not be a true mobile solution.

If you've a PlayStation owner, this is a great addition. With the new firmware update that just recently happened, the update turns the portal into a true handheld gaming device. The 2 thing I don't like is that there is no web browser and it only supports certain Bluetooth earbuds. Sony to be exact. Other than that, I have no regrets in this purchase.

I have had this Portal since launch and held off reviewing until I had several games and over a month under my belt. I will start off saying my review and rating is based on what it is supposed to be, a 'portal' to access your PS5 content already in your PS5. I will not be saying what it could have been, or what people might want it as. The baseline for my use - I used this on my home WiFi that my PS5 was also hooked up to. I have basic internet and the Nest Wifi points inside my 2 story+basement house. My PS5 is connected to my basement TV which I do not always have access to, or I am too lazy to go to the basement for a short gaming session (under 2 hrs). I also have kids, so I cannot always break away to the basement. On our WiFi we have 2 phones, 4 tvs, 2 tablets, and a few other minor items running at the same time as my PS5 and Portal. Internet connection - as mentioned above, I don't have anything high end on my WiFi, but I have not ran into connection issues. It may take 5 to 10 seconds to "wake" my PS5 from rest mode, but it has connected every time. While playing I have not listed connection, and have rarely noticed a delay. I say rarely as I did encounter a slight delay during a major boss battle in Spider-Man 2. It was only once, but I imagine that any scene that causes a major strain on your PS5 could cause a delay. I have not tried this on COD, but I have used it with Destiny 2 online play without issue so far. (Again, this was used at home on the same wifi as the PS5) Battery - it charges fast, even from near dead. My sessions have lasted up to 2 hours and I still have battery left. Again, this is why I have it, not for long sessions. Graphics - if you have used remote play on your PS4 or phone to play PS5 games, you will know that the picture is not as clear as a 4k TV directly connected to your PS5. However, with the portal, the graphics are stunning for remote play. I am impressed, and say that this is worth using. Build - the Portal is made to feel like the Dual Sense controller, and it feels and looks the same. It is as durable and has the same features. The joy sticks are a little smaller, but barely noticeable. The screen is large and in charge, but I feel it is perfect. The distance between hands feel just right. Audio - The speakers sound great, but I do have a gripe. The speakers are located at the back/top of the unit and shoot the sound away from the user. I think it would have been better if it faced the user. Wireless headphones - This is the main reason I did not rank as 5 stars. The only wireless connection for audio is if you buy the Pulse Explore earbuds, or the Pulse Elite headphones. You CANNOT use the Pulse 3D or any Bluetooth earbuds. I look at this as a money grab. I have the Pulse Explore earbuds, and they work great with it, but I debated buying a set as it was not ideal. THE GOOD - Great graphics, good speakers, great overall feel, good build, good connection and ease of use. THE 'BAD' - not necessarily bad, but annoying is the fact you cannot use regular Bluetooth headphones or ear buds. And just a personal gripe, I wish the speakers pointed to the user, not away. Overall, I find this product perfect for people like me that want something for quick sessions without having to go sit in front a TV, or fight over the TV with other house members.

I love the PlayStation portable. I definitely love the fact that you can take it anywhere with you. Or you need to set an internet connection. Play all the games from PlayStation in the world.

I recently got my hands on the Sony PlayStation Portal Remote, and I have to say, it's a game changer for any serious gamer! From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell that Sony paid a lot of attention to detail. The sleek design is inviting, boasting the iconic PlayStation colors while still being comfortable to hold for those extended gaming marathons. Setting it up was incredibly straightforward! It seamlessly connected to my PS5 without any hassle—thank you, Sony, for keeping things user-friendly! The remote gives you direct access to all your favorite applications and games, making it so easy to switch between them without fumbling through menus. I absolutely love the dedicated buttons for popular services like Netflix and Spotify; it saves me tons of time! One of the standout features for me is the responsiveness of the buttons. They have a satisfying click that provides a tactile feedback which helps improve my overall gaming experience, especially during intense real-time matches. The remote is also surprisingly lightweight, so I don’t experience wrist fatigue after hours of gripping it while snugged up on the couch. One of my favorite aspects has been the ability to power on my console from the remote as well; it's perfect for those spontaneous gaming moments—imagine quickly turning on your PS5 after a long day at work and diving into your immersive world without the extra effort of getting up! As for troubleshooting, I’ve faced no hiccups whatsoever. The signal range is excellent, and I can control my PS5 even from a different room, which is impressive and adds a level of convenience that keeps me coming back for more use. In conclusion, if you're a PlayStation enthusiast like myself, the Sony PlayStation Portal Remote is a must-have. It not only elevates your gaming experience but also makes it more enjoyable and comfortable. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their setup!

Now that you are able to stream games directly onto the device, it makes this handheld worth it. This is more of a companion device. Battery life is decent. Great for single player games and not online multiplayer like Call of Duty.

I recently picked up the PS Portal, and I’m absolutely loving it! As a fan of portable gaming, I was excited to try out Sony’s take on a handheld device that works seamlessly with the PlayStation ecosystem, and it does not disappoint. The display is stunning—crisp, vibrant, and clear, making it ideal for gaming on the go. The controls are well-placed and feel comfortable in the hands, even during extended play sessions. The feel of the device is premium, and despite being compact, it offers an ergonomic design that’s easy to hold for long periods. One of the standout features for me is how effortlessly it pairs with my PlayStation 5, allowing me to stream games from my console in high quality with minimal lag. Whether I’m playing AAA titles or indie games, the experience feels surprisingly close to playing on a TV. The remote play functionality works flawlessly, and I’ve had no issues with connectivity, even when I’m a few rooms away from my PS5. The battery life is decent, lasting a few hours of continuous gaming, though it can vary depending on the intensity of the games you’re playing. The charging is also quick, which is convenient for short sessions. Overall, the PS Portal is an impressive device, combining portability with powerful performance. It’s perfect for gamers who want to keep playing when they’re away from their console. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their gaming experience on the go!

Really liked this product! I’m not gonna get into the techs and specs about it, but all I can say is that this little device is very versatile. There’s times where I just wanna chill in bed, or on the couch and don’t want to be facing a big screen the whole time. So with this device it gives me the ability to play it anywhere I’m connected to Wi-Fi. I had my doubts about it, but I mean instead of being on my phone in the toilet, I can be on my Portable lol

Got this to be able to play the PS5 without taking over the TV. So my wife can watch her shows and I can play while still being in the same room. Picture quality is great and screen size works well for most games I have played. Need good internet for it to work.

Great device! Using it around the house works seamlessly. Pairing to different WiFi spots is easy. The functionality of the controls works the same as the console. Only wish the thumb sticks were a bit bigger. Other than that great product to play your games while away or relaxing at the house.

The portal is so convenient when on the go. Yet, I still find myself using it instead of my ps5 sometimes. Screen looks amazing!!! Wish it would’ve went on sale.
