Given that (when I had it) you were only able to stream directly from your PS5 - it worked well. The screen looked good enough, and it is super comfortable to hold and play with. However, since then they have updated it to be able to do Cloud Gaming I'm pretty sure, which is actually a pretty big game-changer.

It's actually a fairly solid device that has surprised me. It can still be better. For the price and the functionality, it is pretty impressive. What really surprised me was that I was at my friends house 50 miles away in the next county. He has very good internet and solid wifi connectivity at his house. I was trying to show him the thing by connecting to his PS5. And that did not work well at all, in fact it got stuck and I had trouble getting out of an error screen. Then when I finally was able to get back to the home screen, it did something I wasn't expecting.
After about 30 seconds. It told me that it had connected to my PS5 back home. A bit surprised I connected and proceeded to play a Contra demo, which requires some decent quickness to play the game well enough to beat it. And then I showed my friend the FF7 Rebirth demo, set the game to performance mode because there's no point playing a 30fps mode when the resolution is set to 1080p. And it ran at a slightly stuttered 60fps mode. Some odd artifacts from time to time, but overall. I was playing a very nice high production game at a very smooth framerate. My friend immediately took notice and became interested in the device.
Obviously it boils down to you being somewhere with a good wifi connection and also having a good overall inter et connection. But for $200, you can play some really nice games that run good enough to actually play them.
The only thing I am still disappointed is the battery life. Bit eventually you will go somewhere where there's a wall plug

I finally got my hands on one and I can’t put it down! Having my PlayStation on the go with me is DEFINITELY a plus. Doctor’s appointments, my workplace and even on flights! Wherever there’s WiFi, my Portal and I will be there!

I love the idea for this! Streaming from your ps5 while using the tv for something else? Count me in. But it can be a bit laggy and have some issues depending HEAVILY on wifi. I have great wifi and i even still get some lagging. Recommended, but dont expect a handheld ps5. Its good for what it is. I think a lot of people were expecting ps5 performance and high speed/ high frame rates. Its fine for what it is!

I purchased the Portal on release day and ended up returning it after a week. Software issues led to lots of stuttering in games, especially in scenes with lots of panning & motion. Control was nearly unplayable for me on the original system software due to this issue.
After a major software update (4.0) I heard these issues had been fixed and decided to give it another try. I'm happy to say that my experience is drastically different this time around. Games run near flawlessly and I don't notice any of the original issues that plagued the system on release.
Some open world games with lots of foliage (FFVII Rebirth) may still show slight signs of compression when the screen is in motion, but in terms of response times when buttons are pressed it feels really good.
If I had to critique the system, I wish the battery lasted longer and that the controller vibration was closer to the PS5 controllers. The vibration feels less precise overall.
Great Cloud Gaming, Best in Class Device Streaming

For the open box pricing this device is a steal. Even at full price it’s worth consideration now that PlayStation has updated it to be possible to use without a PS5, you just need a subscription to use cloud gaming from Sony and you’re set.

This device is extraordinary and easy to handle, even my 4-year-old son found it easy; it is quite adaptive, and above all, you can take it everywhere and follow the game lol.
