Good if you have a Ps5
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a PS5, go for it! It’s awesome. If you don’t and are interested in it due to the ability to stream games from the cloud without a Ps5, just know it’s only their curated catalogue of games similar to GamePass with an upper end PSN subscription, except the games suck a lot more with mostly ancient niche titles.

PlayStation Portal: A Portable PS5 Powerhouse, But
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation Portal is a unique device that aims to bring the full PS5 experience to your hands. It's not a standalone console, but rather a dedicated streaming device that relies on your PS5 for processing power. So, how does it hold up? Let's dive in. Positives: Portability: This is the Portal's biggest strength. Playing demanding PS5 games on a large, comfortable screen anywhere in your home or even on the go is a truly liberating experience. Streaming Performance: Remote Play works surprisingly well, with minimal lag and latency even on strong Wi-Fi connections. The visual quality is impressive, often indistinguishable from playing directly on the PS5. Controller Integration: The built-in DualSense controller feels fantastic, with all the bells and whistles like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers intact. It's a seamless transition from the standard PS5 controller. PS Plus and Premium Integration: Accessing your PS Plus and Premium library is easy and convenient, opening up a vast library of games directly from the Portal. Negatives: Limited Functionality: The Portal is purely for streaming PS5 games. It can't access other apps, media services, or even basic functions like web browsing. This feels like a missed opportunity for a more versatile device. Wi-Fi Dependence: Your entire experience hinges on a good internet connection. Even a slight dip in Wi-Fi quality can lead to lag and stuttering, making it impractical for offline use. Lack of Bluetooth Audio: Surprisingly, the Portal doesn't support Bluetooth headphones, forcing you to use the built-in speakers or a wired headset. This feels like a major oversight for a device focused on portability and convenience. Price: At $200, the Portal isn't exactly cheap, especially considering its limitations. This might make it a tough sell for casual gamers or those who already own a good tablet or phone for Remote Play. Overall: The PlayStation Portal is a technically impressive device that delivers the core PS5 experience on a portable screen. However, its limited functionality, Wi-Fi dependence, and lack of certain features like Bluetooth audio hold it back from being a truly must-have. If you're a dedicated PS5 player who values portability and have a strong internet connection, the Portal is worth considering. But for others, it might be worth waiting for a more versatile and feature-rich iteration in the future.

PS portal worth for PVE game play
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device I'm liking the all black look of it. Work well have to have a strong internet connection to make if feel smooth when playing. Don't recommend on competitive PVP games but definitely recommend for PVE and solo games when just relaxing or you want to be away from where you usually game and lay down and play instead

Great on-the-go Option for Playstation Gaming!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for on the go gaming, as long as your PS5 is on! You can also play it without a PS5 if you subscribe to PS Plus Premium (or whatever that tier is). Beautiful quality screen.

Good WiFi & Ethernet cable hardwired PS5
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked it up on a whim. It’s fun to play especially when you have good WiFi connection & when your PS5 is hardwired by Ethernet cable. Best with single player games because if the small input lag, but it’s hardly noticeable.

Love this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always wanted one but never thought of it's usefulness. With family coming over for the holidays and being told I have to "get out of my cave" (hahaha my room) I can have this out, be around people, and play on my PS5 without being in my bedroom.

The Portal rocks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I was skeptical due to the Portal being cloud streaming only, however I’ve been thoroughly pleased with my purchase. I do want to add that I have a stable and high speed fiber connection, so your experience may differ from mine. Also if you’re on a network with lots of pull on your WiFi bandwith, I would use a second router attached to your ISP modem via Ethernet to give the PlayStation Portal first priority. It doesn’t take long at all to pair to my PS5, and the quality of my game streaming is excellent. Hardly any input lag for me and almost identical to native gaming.

Great in the right situation
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was great for my situation. Basically I wanted the PS5 in the living room so everyone in the house could access it but still wanted a method of playing my games in my room. The wifi router happens to be in my room and my PS5 is connected with an Ethernet cable so I get a perfect connection 99% of the time. Randomly I do get some buffering where the picture gets laggy but it quickly corrects itself. Previously I tried a backbone controller but I really wanted a bigger screen plus with the backbone you basically lose your phone while you play. Now for the cons, the most obvious is there is no Bluetooth and with a handheld that's surprising. Not sure if it was my headphones but the headphone jack on mine seems to lose connection and I have to reinsert it to register. I did buy open box excellent so not really bothered since the speakers largely get the job done. But the thing that bothers me most is the psp portal not being able to turn on your PS5. You either have to leave it in sleep or on all the time from seemless connection to your ps portal. For me I just turn my PS5 on and walk back to my room once it's connected but it's definitely a hassle. Overall I recommend it if you want access to your PS5 in multiple rooms. I can't speak on how it handles out in the world.
