These Earbuds Kind of hurt my ears for a while, however they still sound great! Just make sure you are using the right size rubber piece and you are good to go! They have not fallen out of my ear even through pretty intense workouts. Definitely recommend!

I loved them, sounds extremely well and you can hear the exterior sound with no problem, it fits to the ear really good, the only little problem is the batery life, it only gives you no more than 5hrs then you have to recharged them agian.

I really wanted to love these. The open-ear design is wonderful for wearing as I go about my day. It really felt magical to be able to hear the world as it is (not through some tinny pass-through speaker, as is the norm now) and then, with a tap, add music or a podcast. They weren't great for noisy environments, but for working at home (and keeping an ear out for cats making mischief) these were perfect. Sadly, after 14 months of daily use, the right earbud battery now drains from full to zero within two hours. The same earbud will also drain while sitting in the charging case leaving the earbuds unusable unless the case has also been plugged in overnight. The left earbud remains unaffected - it is still over 80% charged when the right has dropped to 20%. This is actually my second pair of LinkBuds to go out this way. My previous pair died in Feb 2023 (again after about 14 months of daily use). Since those, like these, were just out of warranty when they failed, I purchased them again in the hope that my first pair was a fluke or suffered a bad firmware update. I never updated my second pair, but it still suffered the same battery issue. Regular battery degradation I can understand, but this is not the slow reduction in life I would normally expect. Seemingly overnight, the right earbud began exhibiting this behavior. Given that (1) this happened to two separate pairs over the same timeframe, (2) this seems to affect other reviewers, and (3) Sony has offered no fix or explaination... call me suspicious. While they worked, I loved these earbuds, but this experience has really soured my view of Sony. I won't be buying earbuds from them again.

Love the design something new. But the battery does not last for my use my. My AirPods 2nd gen last longer. Charging takes forever on them. have issues connecting to my phone. The talk to speak feature is good when I’m talking to people. but if you cough or make any noise it will stop the music which is kinda annoyed especially when working out.

Both Headphones Broke Within 5 Uses.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Both headphones broke within 5 uses. Right head phone had connection problems from the 3rd use, had to take both headphones out and put them back into the case multiple times to reset them to get the right headphone to connect. On the 4th use the right headphone wouldn't connect at all no matter how many times I reset them so I just used the left head phone by itself. On the 5th use I tried both headphones again and again, only the left headphone would connect then I noticed the right headphone was cracked around the main seam when I took it out of my ear. I put both headphones back in the case to try and reset them again and when I pulled the left headphone out I could feel the headphone crack and split in half. The left side cracked even worse than the right side did and the whole earbud came apart in two separate pieces held together by a small strip of metal. Obviously neither headphone works anymore. Sony refuses to warranty the headphones because it's "damage", damage caused by their bad QC and materials. I've found at least 5 other reviews mentioning earbuds cracking in half in 15 minutes of searching online so it's not an isolated issue. These headphones and the associated software that you have to download to use them are junk.

I really did love these buds but the design of either my ears or them just dont mix. I had swapped out the rubber ends to see if they would help but they never did, they'd rub up against my inner ear and then begin to make it feel very sore. But besides comfortability not being great, these were really good passthrough earbuds. The sound isn't amazing like the XM4s, or XM5s, but they get the job done when doing light listening to podcasts or something more vocal. The open back design is honestly my favorite as well since you wouldn't have to deal with the microphone filtered audio of your surroundings like other earbuds. I will also so my buds had issues charging after use sometimes even after id make sure to clean them and the inside of the case of any oils or moisture so id also be careful on that end when putting them back in the case. Otherwise, these are nice "gimmick" earbuds, recommend them if they're on sale like they usually are.

      Hi Toa95,

While we're glad that you appreciate the unique open-ring design, we regret to know that you're having issues, particularly with the fit of the unit. The LinkBuds may fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.

Medium-sized (M) ear fitting supporters are attached to the LinkBuds at the time of the purchase. If they are too big or too small, select a different fitting supporter to help the LinkBuds fit better and feel more comfortable. We recommend starting with the larger sizes and working your way down to the smaller sizes until you find the best fit. For purposes of comparison what I am looking to upgrade is my daily listening from my AfterShokz Aeropex. I adore those for podcasts and meetings. Here is the thing, the music experience with the AfterShokz isn't that great. Enter the LinkBuds, I can still hear everything going on but now the music is killer too. I am super impressed. Don't get me wrong they aren't ear blasting loud but they are crystal clear as you would expect from Sony. But there are trade offs, they are super small so they lack all day battery life.

      Hi Whitt,

While we're glad you like the amazing sound quality, we're sorry to hear if they did not fit you well causing them to fall out. The LinkBuds may fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.

      • Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears.
      • If you feel the size of the fitting supporters does not fit your ears, change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better.
      • After attaching the fitting supporter, check that there is no movement on the LinkBuds. (Shake your head back and forth.)
Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best fitting supporter may be different for each ear.

First, the item was easy to pair with my Android phone. Fit, for my ears, is the most comfortable in-ear set of headphones I've personally ever worn. I used the "medium" ear-wing that comes on it, and that worked for me, but my wife needed the XS wings for a comfortable fit, so your mileage may vary. Long story, short - If you don't need, or don't want any level of isolation from outside noises and you don't mind your headphones lacking bass response, these are the headphones for you! Super light, decent battery, quick-charge, and (for me) a comfortable fit. I would consider these "expensive" at this price point for what you are getting, and if your priority is music first, then there are many other excellent ear-bud options in this range that will be a better choice... both in volume and bass response. However, if you want something unobtrusive for listening to audio while having no real impact on your ability to hear what's around you (without the volume dimed), with good quality mics for Zoom or Telephone calls, then these are in a class all their own. For use around the office, these have been great. I recommend these, as long as music audio quality and isolation are NOT your primary reason you're looking for in-ears. I really like mine, and they sound good... as long as I temper my expectations and embrace them for what they are.

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. If the part of the headset where sound is output is not oriented correctly toward the ear canal, the sound quality may sound poor or the left and right sound localization may sound misaligned. You may find this link helpful on how to properly wear the headphones.

Overall these are intresting. Different shape gets some getting used to. The hold feels VERY light like its going to fall out your ear but have yet to have it fall out. Overall these do not have very great sound. The ability to hear all around you though is 100% at about 25% volume you can hear everything around you and have conversations without stopping music and it all is fairly good. The peice that sits inside your ear canel is plastic and has left my ears a bit sore. Super unfortunate as they are very light and the grab peice that keeps it in your ear is soft. Not sure why they didnt upgrade this with a slightly softer rubber outside. Overall I wouldnt recommend these in their current state. They solve a very particular purpose and if they didnt hurt your ear canel they would of got a 4. If they would of sounded better they would of got a 5.

These would be incredible if they didn't have 2 big flaws. 1. This is my second pair, my first pair would barely give me 4 hours use and that's with all the extras turned off and the volume low. One bud was always draining about 20-25% faster. Current pair sometimes gives me 4.5 hours but buds are between 5-10% difference in discharge. 2. If I don't connect and click the bud in place in the case/charger, one or both buds won't charge. I didn't have this issue with the first pair I had. So disappointing when you're wanting to listen to music and they're DEAD. Wonderful functions and great for work or when you need to hear your surroundings. Once this pair quits I will not buy this product again. Just such an irritating pair of wireless earbuds. I jave two pair of Jabra and they're amazing! They just don't offer as good of a hear through as the budlinks. For the price I paid I expected to get what was advertised. They're definitely not worth what was paid.

      Hi Midnightskunk,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your concerns. While we're glad you like most of the functions, especially the open-ring design, we regret that you are having charging issues with your LinkBuds and you feel the battery power does not last long. This is definitely not the experience we'd like to hear from you. Allow us to help you and turn your experience around.

For available operating time of the unit, depending on the settings for the headset functions and usage conditions, the speed of energy consumption for the rechargeable battery may vary between the left and right units. However, this is not a malfunction.

If foreign substances such as dust, dirt, sweat, or moisture is left on the charging port, wipe it off immediately and let it dry at room temperature. Otherwise, the charging function may be affected or not work at all. Be sure to regularly clean the contact points of the charging case and earbuds using a dry soft cloth or cotton swab, and then store the earbuds in the charging case when not in use.

I was really excited for this one. I can't wear regular headphones and earphones because of how my tmj has progressed. At first this seemed comfortable, but within 5 minutes it felt like I had a ball of sandpaper in my ears. I'm really disappointed because when it's comfortable and in proper position it's really cool, but the hard material just doesn't work for me. Also the part where the sound comes from gets blocked and it makes my ears feel like there's massive pressure building. I actually got a slight migraine from having I on past comfort. Also the case feels like a 5 dollar toy. I think it has good potential because the open ear aspect is really cool and when the one part of my ear wasn't blocking the audio it was really cool. It felt like audio was floating above my ear and I really enjoyed that, I'm also a person who when alone doesn't like to wear noise canceling things, so this was really cool. It's just unfortunate that for the 190$ I paid for it, that it doesn't come with a silicone cover or something to make it more comfortable.

Good sound and concept, but fit poorly no matter what you do, and they have a shape that is hard to grasp.. Uncomfortable to wear.

Started out good, the sound was on point, they were comfortable, but they stop working after 3 months. As much as I paid for them, they should work forever.
