Have it sitting in our 400 ft² gym right now Love it

We are very happy with our purchase. Have always bought Sony products and the price was affordable.

I bought a SONY because I've always considered that brand one of the best. The sound is great, the looks are good, but this audio system is not user friendly. I live in the city but I cannot get a radio station and it has too many un-necessary sounds to choose. I can play CD's on it and that's all.

The Sony MHC-M20 is a good audio system with some fun features and the ability to fill your room with very good sound. This system would be especially great as an inexpensive dorm room system or for a small apartment. The features include Bluetooth, a CD player, and an AM/FM radio. Also included are a USB input, an aux input and an input for a karaoke microphone. Additionally, the unit boasts some DJ effects and multi-band equalization with remote control via two free apps published by Sony on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Sony seems to have envisioned this as a party system, with all the features one needs to bring the DJ experience home. With good sound quality, lots of great features, and quick and easy setup, this is a great little system to fill your room with sound.

I wanted to add some music to our workspace and the SONY MHC-M20 caught my eye. Like all SONY products the unit was well packaged. During unpacking I was fascinated with the large speakers flanking an amazingly lightweight receiver. Everything you need to get started is in the box including pre-terminated speaker wire, an FM antenna and batteries for the remote control. The unit goes together quickly and includes a full featured remote. One concern is that the speakers attach to the receiver with proprietary pre-terminated wires so if you want to place the speakers further apart you will have a challenge. After powering the unit up I tested it out with a CD. The sound is very good with bass galore! I was able to use the remote to operate all of the playback controls which allowed me to put the unit up on a shelf away from prying fingers! Next I attempted to pair the unit to my cellphone via Bluetooth. This didn't go so smoothly. Ultimately I had to crawl up on the counter in order to get the phone close enough to the receiver to successfully pair the devices. Once that was accomplished I was able to stream pretty much everything without any further trouble. I'm not sure if there was an interference problem (we have MANY Bluetooth products in our home) or something else going on. We have used the product extensively since then and we like it a lot. It is easy to operate and effortlessly fills our large, high ceilinged room with sound. The speakers are large and colorful (nothing subtle here) and add a certain party flair to the space. Overall, this is a fun party in-a-box and worthy of your consideration.

After about 15 days the cd drawer started to stick. Unfortunately my Best Buy warranty expired in 14 days. The stereo does not have a very powerful sound, disappointed completely.

It looks like a mini-component system in the photos but it is HUGE. The sound was ok but I was shocked at the size.

I got home and speaker cord was cut it was a open box product so I guess they did not check good first.

If you Google the model for more detailed specs you'll see it's speaker output is rated at only 70 watts total, or 35 per channel. Doesn't sound like much compared with various & competing brands like Sharp or LG huh? Well first off many shelf stereos give an approx 6 inch woofer whereas this gives 8 inch woofers (often times you'll only get an 8 inch if it comes with a separate subwoofer) so the capability is certainly there. But the question most probably will ask themselves is if it makes the most of what it offers, and like most Sony systems it most certainly does. You could effectively envision it as a 270 watt system as opposed to only 70 watts based on what the output actually sounds like. This will by no means rattle the windows, but it'll certainly get a party going and keep it going. LOL Also has quite clean & crisp sound. It'd be nice if for a price of over $200 it gave a multi disc CD changer instead of a single disc player, but otherwise it has plenty of features to both justify the cost and make it your main home system for the average person. I'd imagine it'd also be great for a teen craving a nice powerful system. Bluetooth is a bonus for me as I personally rarely use it, but it's nice to see that Sony didn't skimp on the number of features. I'd say it's a little spendy overall in comparing it to the competition, but it's still worth it. Lastly expect it to take up a fair more space than the picture gives the impression of. If your Best Buy store has a display you'll see it's a fair bit bigger than what the picture shown is probably making you think.

The sound that comes out of these speakers is phenomenal. The speakers are not too big, but they produce a booming sound. In our house, you can walk forty feet out to the road and still hear the speakers. Ten feet away from the house, you can hear it as if you were in the room. The apps that you can download with this stereo are what makes it so much more fun. The apps have different DJ items like the Horn, and many other great things. Overall a great buy.
