I bought this as a Christmas present for my teenage brother. He loves them. The whole noise canceling thing is legit because he can't hear a word being said around him while he's listening to music and we can't hear anything he's listening to. It was so annoying with the ones he had before.

I have had 2 of these, broke the first by accident and replaced it with the same thing. Sound is excellent, noise blocking is good for the price, good comfort for long wear.

I was looking for some inexpensive headphone to use hooked up to a monitor but didn't want to spend an arm & a leg...these were great for the price and seem to be holding up well with consistent use.

First, some background: I bought these for an upcoming plane ride to Europe. I've had some Sony noise cancelling ear buds for years, but they hurt my ears after a few hours. I tested the Bose QC3's and loved them, but didn't want to shell out $325. The Sony MDRNC8's were $50 and unlike the Bose, they folded up for travel. But, there was no test model to try out. I took a chance. I got them home and was immediately disappointed, probably because I tested the Bose QC3's first.
Let me be clear: these headphones are not bad! They are a good value. They're quite comfortable, although the build quality is cheap and floppy. The sound is average (on par with my ear buds). The noise cancelling "power" is moderate and has only one setting (again, on par with my ear buds). I was looking for an upgrade, but what I got was a more comfortable version of what I already had. I was about to return them when my wife tried them out and loved them. So I gave them to her for the same plane ride.
You get what you pay for. These headphones are worth every penny of $50. They do a decent job at noise canceling. They give decent sound quality. They are comfortable, but cheaply built because they are cheap.
By the way, I did more research and bought myself a $200 pair of Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9's. They are 40% cheaper than the Bose QC3's, but they actually feel more solid. They turn flat for travel packing. The sound quality is a little below Bose, but they're equally good at noise canceling (3 modes). And they are very comfortable.
Now my wife and I are both happy, as long as I don't let her listen to my ANC9's.

It's a good product for the price and is very durable. I bought these for my trip to California and have been pleased with the result. Sometimes, the ear cushions hurt the ear a bit because the headphones are a little small in the width/length.

For a $40 pair of headphones you can't beat them. The noise canceling feature does work ( not as well as the $300 headphones) but it does work.
The sound quality is decent. A really good bargain priced pair of headphones.

Bought these for use while working, wanting fairly clean sound but not overconcerned with fidelity. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality level for the price.

I bought these to use while flying commercial...other headphones didn't block out enough noise so I couldn't really hear while watching programs on my ipad. Now I can easily watch during flights and hear really well!

I purchased these earphones to use in home to listen to podcasts and movies on my PC while others were tuned into the TV. They are well suited for voice and mid-quality music reproduction.

I use these primarily while mowing all day Mon - Fri. The noise canceling feature does not alter or quiet the sound coming from the mower or trimmer. I'm not sure any brand will, but I had hoped for better performance.
Additionally, the headphones do not have near the volume or base of my last pair of Sony headphones.
I have only utilized these for the last month. I will see just how well they hold up to daily use.
