I have always purchased Sony headphones for my self and my children and loved them! My last pair of Sony headphones lasted 14 years!!! So I purchased these grey Sony headphones and the left side went out within 3 months. I use them only at work and are well taken care of so I know it was nothing on my part. I will be exchanging them and maybe trying a different brand. Maybe I just got a bad pair, who knows.

I've always struggled with finding a great pair of over ear headphones. Either my head starts to hurt after a while, the sound isn't great, or the frame just breaks too easily. But not with these! I've known Sony to make some great stuff, but this lovely piece of equipment really surprised me. Beautiful sound quality, surround sound, and bass! No problems so far and I've had them for almost a year (purchased on 5/15/2015). The microphone works great during Skype calls, phone calls, and video game chat rooms. Super comfortable on my ears, I can wear them for hours with no problem or ache. I do take good care of my valuables, so if you're a type of person who might drop a smart phone or some other expensive object, I'm not sure how the durability will work for you. Because I tend to pamper my things, that may be the reason why they've lasted as long as they have. (Though I do have the 2-year protection plan just in case) The only downside I can remotely think of is people around me can faintly hear what I'm listening to. So if you're the type of person who listens to Taylor Swift in secret, maybe these aren't the headphones for the crowded bus ride home. (But at the same time, I am all too guilty of cranking the volume way up on these. Whoops!) All in all, this is a great product and I seriously recommend it to anyone. Totally worth the $$$

The mods were weak and the highs not very crisp. They looked good. Would not stay on doing any real activity

when i tried to use on component system, computer, and small radio, a MINIMUM of sound was detected. we tried everything to get them to work, to no avail. our dollar store ear buds worked 100% better than an somewhat expensive pair of over the head earphones. We are VERY disappointed. The outside box has been lost, and now i'm out about $139.00. these suck. CAN YOU HELP ME?

I went in the store with my mind made up to get a pair of Boss on ear headphones but hated the way they felt on my head. I tried on and listening to everything Best Buy had on display. I decided I wanted something to fit over my ears. These Sony headphones are so comfortable. The squishy pads sit flat against my head, completely encompassing my ears, and keeping out a good amount of outside noise. For the price difference, I couldn't justify the Boss headphones, and to me the Sony ones sounded just as good. The cord is nice and long and the ear parts swivel to lay flat for storage.

I have had these for a few weeks to use for work to drown out all the surrounding noise. For office use these seem to be awesome, as unlike many others, these seem to have NO sound leakage. So no complaints from co workers on noise. Better yet, these surround then entire ear and drown out most of the surrounding noise even with nothing playing. The padded strap is a very nice touch as I am bald, so the comfort is great for extended periods! The ear cups are nice and soft also. The sound is pretty good. Sony likes to make their bigger driver sets a little bass heavy though. They deff sound full, but sometimes a little too full for my liking. All around though they are great compared to other units in the price range. The build is still a plastic frame, so the jury is still out on how well they do at being banged around. Mine sit at a desk though, so likely not an issue for me.

These replaced my old Sony MDR XB500 headphones. Very comfortable and great quality with angled drivers. Similar to the old XB500 as sounding too bassy when listening with flat EQ settings and no adjustments. As these are designed for increased bass I find it necessary to increase the highs through EQ and then this is where these headphones hit my sweet spot. They handle highs very well, not getting sharp or fatiguing, balancing with the amazing bass. For closed back headphones the soundstage and separation is also acceptable.

They are amazing and they are in my opinion "better than beats" I've had a few pairs of beats and we'll they where ok the bass on these are amazing they are nice canceling and perfect for plane rides. Also if you just want to relax at home they are amazing. 100% worth every penny. I would totally recommend these headphones to anyone. Specially if you h Ave a Samsung Note or HTC one

junk to much bass extreme lack of purity sonys worst yet

I've never been one to spend the extra money on good headphones. And while I still think that cheap headphones still sound good with classical music, these headphones are way, way better for everything else. Many of my favorite songs sound so much better with these headphones than with the normal earbuds I have laying around. These are much more expensive than normal headphones, but they're much better too. Totally worth it.

Owned solo beats for years, bought a pair for my daughter and they were broken, bought a second pair, they didn't sound right, returned those, decided to try these based on reviews and trust me the reviews are not good enough, needs to be 5.5, beats the Beats by price and by quality HANDS DOWN and get this... we are deaf so if we can hear things with these, then you want them.

I've had these headphones for less than 24 hours and will return them. The build of the headphones are great, but can't say the same about the sound. The bass overpowered the mids and the treble. The bass can be too much, it can distort the sound. If you're a producer or into music that has bass, these headphones can really ruin the sound. When you take the headphones off, they literally sound like music Playing through water. The bass is nice to have, but it lacks quality. It has more of a synthetic bass sound. I would recommend "Monster DNA" headphones. It's within the $140-$170 range. The DNA's have a clean Crips sound with a bright punchy bass... You'll love them. Trust me.

I bought these for my 11 year old brother as a birthday gift so he could stop using mine. He loves them!

I will say, the headphones are very attractive and are comfortable to wear. I tested out the product in-store (with bass-heavy pop music) and thought the quality was fine. I didn't notice until later (when I was listening to Fleetwood Mac) that not only is the bass obtrusive, but it really flattens out your mid-level treble. I'm returning in favor of something with a more balanced sound.

I originally purchased the blu tooth version. But bass was overpowering. All bass no mid or highs. The wired ones are way better. Crisp sound with great bass. Definitely would recommend.

Sound quality was decent.. but for the price, they're not worth it. The quality is similar to a pair of $60 headphones I have. I'm just gonna return them and find something better even if it costs me more. I'd rather pay more for something better than be disappointed in these. It surprises me because I used to be a huge fan of Sony.. Now it seems like everything I get from them is slightly better than mediocre for the price. Had they been cheaper, I probably would have raved about these. But, they're just not worth the money...

Im very impressed!!!!Exchanged some Bose headphones for these Sony's and WOW!!!!!.....and the these were cheaper in price.

These headphones don't crush my ears unlike most "over-ear" headphones.

I was a total Sony customer for over 30 yrs until tonight when suddenly when I removed my head set only to find it is in two pieces now. Also apparently there is only a 90 day manf warranty so the 120.00 I paid six mos ago is not worth it. I am not sure if this is a common issue but from a personal level wow ... very disappointing and I am not buying Sony head phones again!!!
