Got this on the pre-order launch, the pickup from Best Buy was efficient. The PS5 coming from the PS4 was a nice upgrade. So far the PS5 console has been performed well for the 1st gen PS5, I do look forward to the system updates that will enable the PS5's full potential. It's quick, and smooth. The PS5 controller is heavier than the PS4 , but the feel is much better with response sensitivity and player feedback, and built-in mic.

This system is freaking amazing, I mean I tried my hardest to get this system and Best Buy came through! The graphics are beyond anything and the speed is crazy fast. I literally have no complaints besides the storage..... I cannot update or download any of the newer games besides the ones that I have. I had to get a PS4 HD I order to free up space. But other thank that I recommend this system if your lucky enough to snag one!!

This console really is next gen! It has an inbuilt mic in the controller, some games can run at 120fps, and the new controller’s haptic feedback is really cool. The side panels are easy to remove so you can customize them if you choose to do so. %99 of PS4 games are backwards compatible with the PS5 and some of them are improved on the new console. I would %100 recommend this console to anyone that is interested in it!

    Well-made launch console from Sony

The design of this console might be controversial, but there's no doubt that it feels well made and should hopefully remain reliable and viable for years to come into this generation. The DualSense controller is a nice upgrade from the PS4's DualShock 4 and feels heftier; the adaptive triggers are a great addition and the improved haptics put this above the Xbox controller IMO. Having a mute button (not just for mic input, but also as a way to mute all sound output when the button is held down) right on the controller is nice too. Speaking of sound, if you were using USB wireless headphones with your PS4, they'll probably work on your PS5 too. I hope to see more efforts from Sony in matching what MS is doing with services like GamePass. The PS5 does include some nice gestures, like a pack-in game that's actually really good, and a ton of excellent free games in the PS Plus Collection that you can enjoy, often at higher fidelity, on your PS5 while you wait for more next-gen titles to launch. The included HDMI cable is capable of the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth but I wish it was a couple feet longer. With the console standing on the right side of my 65" Sony X900H TV, the HDMI cable is only just barely able to reach the ports on the TV's left side. I'm probably going to rearrange my setup so the console can sit on the left and not put undue stress on the cable or ports. Overall, I'm excited to see what the PS5 stands to offer as the generation advances.

Amazing system. Fantastic performance and overall gorgeous machine. Very very pleased with it. However, i did encounter a small ( or big, however you look at it. ) software glitch last night. My friend and i share games via gameshare, and when he sent me a game from his profile, the game was calculating how much space and time was needed for the download, and not even 1 sec after it was finished calculating, my system had a panic attack otherwise freaked out on me, screen went black, Me being ( my dumb self ) accidentally put the system into rest mode ( while i myself, am panicking. ) then, nothing. System was froze up. Would not come back on from rest mode whatsoever. I waited 10 mins, tried again, still nothing. So i did my only option at that point, hard reset. ( unplugged the power cable from the system, it was so painful. ) i turned it back on after plugging it back up, and it was fixed. Back to new. Day 2 of having it and everything is working perfectly. Haven't had any other issues out side of that one incident. So NOTE to future buyers: its a great system, its not loud at all, it doesn't really get hot, and the controller is fricking off the wall bananas. BUT! There are still some software bugs happening that sony themselves still needs to iron out. As to be expected, it is new tech after all. All in all, i definitely recommend the playstation 5 to anyone that is willing to get around the fact that there is still minor bugs and kinks.

OMG! The PlayStation 5 is insane. Well thought out console. (Beside being the smaller storage console compared to Xbox series x) I love the fact that I can share play to another tv using my PS4 Pro as my remote playing source. At this moment, PS4 pro is the only way to do this besides mobile app. Graphics, load times, and the all new motion controller have to be my favorite features.

Great console with a really amazing controller. Its a big design but if you have the room for it, it will look really cool. The ssd is extremely fast and its pretty quiet till now. I wouldn't purchase any game for 70 no matter how awesome it is. I'd wait for a sale. If you can grab one then get it for sure. Only downside is the ssd space. You really only get like 680 or something.

The PS5 is amazing. Still can't believe I have one. Sony has done it again. It looks incredible on my LG CX OLED!!! The load times are super fast and they did a fantastic job with the new controller. Love it!!! All around just WOW!!! Thanks Best Buy for making the process easy once I secured it into my cart. They even shipped it to me for free.

I like the new PS5, the console seems a bit bulky, so hopefully they come out with a slim version. The system performs better/faster than the previous consoles PS4, PS3 etc. but the controllers joysticks and top buttons L1,L2,R1,R2 dont last and had to replace/buy 3 new controllers already!

this new generation console is where it’s at! the ssd, the games, the controller, pretty much everything besides the storage but isn’t really a big deal at all knowing that you can upgrade the storage in future’s time. overall its worth getting 100000% hands down! (only if you have a bad/slow ps4 or if you’re getting it for a loved one)..

I've had my PS5 for about 3 years and I still find it to be a fantastic console with a library of games that I believe to be unmatched. The only negative to me is that the DualSense controller that originally came with the system became unusable due to stick drift shortly after the warranty expired. The same exact thing happened to the next controller I purchased, so to anyone that is going to purchase the PS5, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing any extra warranty available that covers the controller. Other than that, the system is still running as it did on day one after 3 years of heavy usage.

What can I say that already hasn't been said about this beast of a console. Load times are fast, backwards compatible, better interface than the PS4, Dualsense controller is premium and feels next gen, this is just an all around great console. Yes it is hard to get, but if you keep trying like I did you'll eventually get one. Best Buy dropped this console on the 15th of December and I got it by Christmas Eve which was great with no problems. The 4K resolution and HDR look absolutely outstanding. Spider-Man remastered is native 4K @ 60 FPS and the HDR looks incredible. About 4K @ 120 hz. You're not getting native 4K @ 120 hz on this console so don't get you hopes up. VRR and G Sync are not 4K @ 120 hz. I really don't care about that because 4K @ 60 fps is all I need to enjoy this console. As an OLED owner, I feel like games in 4K HDR look more crisp and smooth on an OLED TV with better black levels and contrast. When you do buy this console you won't regret your purchase. Also, those of you who want Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. You'll not get it on this console. However, Sony will have an update in the future for those two. Highly recommend you buy a Playstation 5.

Love the look and software. loads fast, what is post rendering ? Graphics look great and clean. Astros playroom is amazing in terms of being free game out the box and showing the capability of the controllers. Only thing I would note is not leaving the system on rest mode. Launch issues I hope a update patch will fix it soon. 12/23/2020

To say I was surprised that I secured a PS5 would be an understatement. I had been following a few Twitter accounts dedicated to drops for about a month like everyone else and it appeared I would never get one. I was always aiming for the Disc version since I felt its price tag would deter people away and its potential for resale value would be higher in the future compared to the Digital version. Supply shortages and scalpers made it exceedingly difficult but through a Best Buy drop I did it. Both pick up and checkout were smooth and efficient. The console itself is amazing. It’s a little cumbersome compared to the PS4 due to the sheer size of the console but that’s not even close to being an issue for me. User interface is friendly and its lightning fast processor loads my games almost instantaneously. I have enjoyed exploring the capabilities of the DualSense controller through the pre-installer ‘Astro’ game and have found myself becoming immersed in the gameplay of this console. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to purchase a new PlayStation!

Alright so Im gonna make this easy with a personal pros and con list before my actual 'review' lol - Pros: • Runs fast and super quiet • Ive actually used the ps+ section on the home screen • looks neat in a dark room • No crashes or lagging yet • LOVING that the home page gave media and games their own 'tab', not that I hold parties but I feel that if you're hosting thats great and makes it quicker! • I thought the stand was neat... maybe thats just me lol • Free games at launch for any ps+ member... you get like 20 games and theyre all AAA titles 10/10 • Compared to my ps4, new game download times seem cut in half tho still takes a few hrs • Easy set up and my profile from my ps4 felt like it magically appeared? • I like that the extra usb ports are in the back • I love that the store doesn't take ages to load anymore and they added a WISHLIST WHOOP!! • This controller is honestly carrying this system it is incredibly game changing! Also the thumb sticks are the same size as the daulshock so I was able to put on these cute paw print caps! • I had no memory space issues and it feels like I have so much wiggle room which I havnt felt that in years - Cons: ° Unpopular opinion but I prefer the ps4 main menu but like the quick menu from the ps5 better ° No HBO Max app at launch- unsure if they'll add it again :^( ° The store is harder to navigate and feels small since its not an app and instead just an extension of the home screen ° This is WAY too big! (For a bedroom at least) also I wish it was black but Im sure someone somewhere will release a skin eventually. Just wish it was 3 inches smaller. ° No themes and the 'game focus' screen they raved about just feels super empty thus making the home screen seem like it has loads of wasted space ° Cant disconnect my headphones just by turning it off I actually have to pull out the Bluetooth usb - granted I use afterglow brand and not the ones made specifically for the ps5 :^( ° Cant find a timer to put the controller to sleep when I haven't touched it for 20 mins but upside is the battery life is AMAZING ° The wireless data transfer seems flawed but cool in theory Okay so I was lucky enough to buy this on release day (Nov 12th 2020) and I picked it up the 17th, a whole day early then I was supposed to get it which was nice! Now my biggest complaint is honestly the home screen and thats probably just my own issue since I loved the ps4 one so much and it just WORKED for me but hey hopefully things might change through updates? On the other hand I also had such an issue figuring out how to display this Big Boi and in the end scattering books next to it made the height less scary so Im slowly getting used to it being in my room. The last major issue is that the data transfer is taking 48 hrs (which fair, my ps4 had a ton on it) but it failed once already so Im skeptical at this point. If it fails again ill have to get a special cord to make it do it directly. Now I am IN LOVE with the quick menu- I was worried Spotify would be set up weird but I actually like this better than they had it previously and it really does feel unintrusive on the screen despite it taking up quite a bit of space. Also the controller... oh my god I heard how amazing it was but it really doesn't compare to feeling it yourself- honestly even if you were uninterested in Astros playroom just give it a 10 minute play just to feel the capabilities!! Its INSANE! I hope companies take advantage of this because its a game changer! Though pro tip- the vibrations are automatically set to high and I almost immediately reset it to medium because this controller does not play when it comes to the intensity of this shake. I have high hopes for the ps5 moving forward and although Im having issues adjusting I can see the promise it has. Downloading skyrim rn and I'm excited to see the decreased load times! ♡♡♡
