Alright so Im gonna make this easy with a personal pros and con list before my actual 'review' lol - Pros: • Runs fast and super quiet • Ive actually used the ps+ section on the home screen • looks neat in a dark room • No crashes or lagging yet • LOVING that the home page gave media and games their own 'tab', not that I hold parties but I feel that if you're hosting thats great and makes it quicker! • I thought the stand was neat... maybe thats just me lol • Free games at launch for any ps+ member... you get like 20 games and theyre all AAA titles 10/10 • Compared to my ps4, new game download times seem cut in half tho still takes a few hrs • Easy set up and my profile from my ps4 felt like it magically appeared? • I like that the extra usb ports are in the back • I love that the store doesn't take ages to load anymore and they added a WISHLIST WHOOP!! • This controller is honestly carrying this system it is incredibly game changing! Also the thumb sticks are the same size as the daulshock so I was able to put on these cute paw print caps! • I had no memory space issues and it feels like I have so much wiggle room which I havnt felt that in years - Cons: ° Unpopular opinion but I prefer the ps4 main menu but like the quick menu from the ps5 better ° No HBO Max app at launch- unsure if they'll add it again :^( ° The store is harder to navigate and feels small since its not an app and instead just an extension of the home screen ° This is WAY too big! (For a bedroom at least) also I wish it was black but Im sure someone somewhere will release a skin eventually. Just wish it was 3 inches smaller. ° No themes and the 'game focus' screen they raved about just feels super empty thus making the home screen seem like it has loads of wasted space ° Cant disconnect my headphones just by turning it off I actually have to pull out the Bluetooth usb - granted I use afterglow brand and not the ones made specifically for the ps5 :^( ° Cant find a timer to put the controller to sleep when I haven't touched it for 20 mins but upside is the battery life is AMAZING ° The wireless data transfer seems flawed but cool in theory Okay so I was lucky enough to buy this on release day (Nov 12th 2020) and I picked it up the 17th, a whole day early then I was supposed to get it which was nice! Now my biggest complaint is honestly the home screen and thats probably just my own issue since I loved the ps4 one so much and it just WORKED for me but hey hopefully things might change through updates? On the other hand I also had such an issue figuring out how to display this Big Boi and in the end scattering books next to it made the height less scary so Im slowly getting used to it being in my room. The last major issue is that the data transfer is taking 48 hrs (which fair, my ps4 had a ton on it) but it failed once already so Im skeptical at this point. If it fails again ill have to get a special cord to make it do it directly. Now I am IN LOVE with the quick menu- I was worried Spotify would be set up weird but I actually like this better than they had it previously and it really does feel unintrusive on the screen despite it taking up quite a bit of space. Also the controller... oh my god I heard how amazing it was but it really doesn't compare to feeling it yourself- honestly even if you were uninterested in Astros playroom just give it a 10 minute play just to feel the capabilities!! Its INSANE! I hope companies take advantage of this because its a game changer! Though pro tip- the vibrations are automatically set to high and I almost immediately reset it to medium because this controller does not play when it comes to the intensity of this shake. I have high hopes for the ps5 moving forward and although Im having issues adjusting I can see the promise it has. Downloading skyrim rn and I'm excited to see the decreased load times! ♡♡♡

Okay, so here’s my thoughts on the ps5, now that I have had it for a little. The console: MASSIVE. Really fast and I’m impressed how it can run smoothly with everything. My one complaint is they do not have the internet browser. The controller: Comfortable, but I wish the battery in them did not die as fast as it does, seemed like ps4 controllers lasted longer without the extra vibrations. Storage: If you are like me and would like to play more than 5 games, you’re going to need either an external storage, or buy the one that goes in the ps5. Really slacking on internal memory right out the box. Overall: I love it, they just need to add the internet browser back and I’d be one happy camper.

I’ve waited 1 year and 2 months for my chance to finally purchase this. The console is absolutely beautiful. I know some people complain about the size and design, but i love it just the way it is. I can stare at my console all day. That’s how beautiful this thing is. The Dualsense controller really helps elevate the PS5 even further, immersing you into whatever game you’re playing. I love how it looks and how nice it feels in my hands. I’m definitely a proud PS5 owner. Great work, Sony!

The Playstation 5 lives up to the hype. Coming towards the end one of the craziest years of our lives, Sony restores our faith in the future with, dare I say, the product of the year. If you were lucky enough to get your hands on one, that is of course. Visually, the PS5 looks like it was made by Michelangelo himself. How does one compare its performance to its award-winning predecessors? Under the hood, the PS5 is a lamborghini and the PS4 resembles your daily toyota corolla. Both do the job, but I'd rather be driving a lambo. The PS5 controller enhances the gameplay with unmatched innovation. Its dual sense technology allows for the trigger on the controller to replicate what is taking place in the actual game. Allowing for action games like Call of Duty to be that much more engaging. Oh, and the controller is also a mic. It is extremely satisfying to have beat the bots and gotten this amazing product for retail. Thank you Best Buy for giving me a chance at next gen gaming.

I have owned a PlayStation since PlayStation 1 when I was only 8. Watching PlayStation evolve along side me has definitely turned me into a fanboy, and I’m totally cool with that. This is the first time I’ve ever preordered a console and I got to say it hasn’t disappointed me in the slightest! Everything looks better and is more responsive especially with cod Cold War, a must play on the ps5! The haptic controller makes the game more imperative then ever. And I’ve noticed the triggers aren’t going to fast forward every time you move on the couch like old controllers. This controller feels like the future, it’s just the perfect fit for my hands! I have been playing ps4 war zone and the backwards compatibility is great so far. Actually I’m playing better than ever lol. If you’re as lucky as I was on getting one and you are as big a fan as me then you would agree this is the best PlayStation so far! Thanks Sony!!!!!!!!!

Pretty cool console, however pretty big and heavy compared to PS4 size. I’m sure the size is due to nextgen tech. Controller is amazing and comfortable and reminds me of the Xbox One X style. The controller has built in microphone, no more headsets. The charger on the PS5 controller is different from PS4. I have two PlayStation 5 one disc one digital and I prefer the digital the other belongs to my 10yr old. It’s sleeker and quieter than the disc version. I will say the download speeds are faster than PS4, but the X Box series X is much faster at downloading large GB files. My oldest sons Xbox smoked both my 10yr old and my console download. It has the cool blue recess lighting when on and amber when on sleep mode. Graphics are fantastic, but to get the full experience I recommend having a 4-8k tv. The Home Screen and setups are different from PS4 so it takes getting use to.

I HIGHLY recommend owning a 4k HDR tv in order to get the most out of this console. The first thing that I noticed- the controller is an absolute game changer. I do not think that I can go back to a regular old controller after experiencing the DualSense. The unit itself has a bold, striking appearance and color scheme. The interface feels familiar yet refined and it so much more smoother and faster! The graphics are so crisp and detailed, while maintaining consistent frame-rates. The hard drive capacity is a bit small but I only install one to two games at a time, so this is not a deal-breaker for me. And the unit comes with an incredible little game called Astro's Playroom (A fun, charming and lighthearted platforming game that shows what the unit is capable of) What else can I say? I am really enjoying this console and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for it.

I was lucky enough to buy one randomly during the crazy pre-order (aka scalper wars/bot buyers tome). Nevertheless I was happy to receive my ps5. Overall the menu system on the ps5 is slightly different than the ps4, it will take some getting used to. However, it is better once you get the hang of it. You can also use the ps4 to play ps5 remotely which is cool. Unfortunately, because you need hdmi 2.1 to get 120hz 4k it is hard to achieve. However, 4k 60hz with raytracing is nice. The controller is pretty nifty however, I find it only fun in Astro's playroom so far. I turned off haptic feedback and the L2/R2 trigger pressure, It feels odd to play with it on. I can see it being fun in Astro's playroom and maybe a fishing game. One thing to note is if you want 120hz 4k you will need a monitor with hdmi 2.1 capable of 4k 120hz plus. The choices are limited currently and the 120hz will be variable not stable 120hz so this could cause it to stutter. I would wait until mid or late next year for 120+hz 2.1 hdmi monitors. You also have to go into settings and system and prioritize for performance instead of resolution, raytracing must be tured off within the game you intend to play at 120hz. You finally have to restart the game app. I have a nice monitor that is supposed to allow 4k 144hz however, that is achieved by connecting pc to monitor using two display ports to one video card. I researched my options. I tried to install a hdmi source to display port adapter but couldn't find any that support 4k 120hz. I did find 4k 60hz adapters. If you need an adapter make sure its not unidirectional. You want hdmi source (aka ps5) to display port (monitor). Most of the adapters online will be unidirectional and only work for transferring video from a display port source (computer/laptop) to hdmi monitor which you do not want. Hard drive is a little lacking in size but is pretty quick. I transferred Modern warfare and warzone, Ghost of tsushima, and cod cold war and now I'm close to 93 GB left. To be fair warzone is a huge download (about 267GB) cold war is almost 200GB of hd space. I have a few small games and Of couse the operating system itself takes up space. I believe as the ps5 matures it will improve and get more fun with time. I have to say my kids had a lot of fun playing Astro's playroom. However, it is only a single player game so they fight a lot. Definitely fun though.

Waited a long while to get the Ps5 but well worth the wait! The speeds are way faster than I even expected. The loading of games is so good and the scene change delays are way shorter than the Ps4 was capable of. The new controllers are also so much better and responsive to different games and modes. I’m totally immersed games now that use to be boring because of the slow load and longer delays. The ps5 is excellent at delivering great movie watching of your discs as well. Being larger the Ps5 unit is not a problem as the stand for horizontal placement is my choice application. Play it most days late into the night. Well worth waiting for, the Ps5 is everything I wanted in the next generation game console.

Everything It expect it would be fast, innovative the controller is blown out of portion a bit but it is amazing nothing like it, Makes your gaming experience unique. It needs some updates to improve on the system to make it better than the 4 with the features(Themes and Storage). But features like the switcher, activity cards letting you hop back in specific portions of the game. The whole dashboard the built in mic Makes everything about the ps5 amazing. Makes 1080p games look even better. All backwards compatibility games that are unlocked play and look alot better on ps5. Stable 60 every game I've played. Ghost, Saints Row 3, Miles, Sackboy, even sports game feel, look and play better. The ability the customize the whites plates is exciting which Im doing with mine rn. Best Next Gen Console. There's no debate

I wasn't desperate for a PS5. I still loved my PS4 and used it everyday. My wife surprised me with a PS5 for Christmas! This machine is a beast and load times compared to previous gen is night & day. Performance mode is a must! The graphics are beautiful. Note: Make sure you don't have a way older outdated TV. Make sure your TV supports 120hz and not 60hz or you won't get the true experice. Also make sure your TV supports HDMI 2.1 and not only 2.0. With 2.1, you can play games at 120 FPS at 4k. If not, it'll only be at 4k 60 FPS. Just a heads up!
