    PS VR is awesome

Put on the PS VR headset and the earbuds and enter a new world. You lose track of where you are in the real world. Move your head around, look above, below and behind you to see a new world and your surroundings. Saw no lag in the world. You may look weird to the real world, but to you, it is totally immersive. Bought Batman ARkham VR. intro starts on top of a building. See the railing in front of you, taker a step forward and look down to th street below. I have a VR headset for my phone and it is good, but not like the PS VR. 2 downsides to the VR, 1 - cables hanging from it, hinders movement, but you shouldn't be walking around alot with this (compared to a phone VR headset), 2- not a lot of games utilize the VR, but i am sure that will change quickly.

I went in not expecting it to be the greatest thing in the world, just so I wouldn't get my hopes up, and I can say I was thoroughly impressed with it. I went in and just bought it on a wimb, I bought until dawn with it, and it was totally immersive, the screen isn't 4K or 1080 but it's enough to get the job done, it's kinda a niche thing like the wii, it doesn't need the stellar graphics to get what's it's going after, and I applaud that fact, hopefully they keep building it up

I've been gaming for over 30 years and have never experienced anything quite like this before. I played over 4 hours last night. I couldn't take it off. I was astonished. The experience is Amazing!!!! Right off the bat I played the Shark Encounter gam in the VR World game (more like a demo). It felt so real I literally had to pause it at times to convince myself it was just a game. I have also purchased Until Dawn but am to scared to play at the moment. I am a 36 year old man lol. Thats how real this experience feels. If you are a gamer, you must buy this, even if you don't own a PS4. The $800 for both the PS4 and PS4 is worth every penny!

    Easiest Way to Experience VR

If you have a PS4 and have any interest in VR, you need to get the PSVR. Admittedly, I never once used Vive, Oculus or Samsung VR prior to purchasing PSVR. While I'm a Sony fan, the reason for not buying one of these VR systems was because I didn't have a Samsung phone or VR ready computer. Since I had a PS4, this was my opportunity to enjoy a new videogame experience. First, the set up. While the plethora of cables seem confusing, the set up process is pretty straightforward and simple. The instructions are easy to follow. But there's a big caveat to the setup!!! You are limited by the cables. Not everyone will experience the problems I have, as it depends on your entertainment setup, but I have a TV above a fireplace and have my receiver/PS4/router/modem, etc. on a stand to the side. I ran my wires through the wall, into my crawl space and back up to where the entertainment system is. Because of the short PS4 Camera cable, which should be under or above your TV, I had to physically move my PS4 and processing unit away and plug it straight into my TV. This wasn't a big deal on day one, as I was excited to play PSVR. But it wasn't a long term solution. I ultimately bought a PS4 camera extension cable and place the camera under my TV whenever I want to play PSVR. My other issue regarding setup, which is specific to me, but something to consider, is the requirement for an extra power plug. I literally have an Apple TV, modem, router, Logitech Harmony base, receiver, subwoofer, Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U plugged into my power strip. I had to unplug the Wii U, which is used the least, in order to plug in the processor. Again, you may not have this issue, but given that the PS4 processing unit needs to be in close proximity to your PS4, which needs to be in close proximity to the TV (because of PS4 camera cord shortness) it is something you need to plan for. The other thing to keep in mind is to take your time in setting it up and going through the menu options to optimize the PSVR settings, it will pay off in the end. I jumped right into playing after hooking the cables up and had difficulties with the tracking system. I also had difficulties setting up the PS Move joysticks. It was the first time I've ever used them and I had to figure out how to set them up too. Not difficult, just takes time. Second, experience. I was truly blown away the first time I put the headset on and was immersed in a virtual world. This portion of my review is short because no words can sum up that feeling of true audio and video immersion. You really, truly, have to see it to believe it. It's not perfect, maybe one will argue the Vive or Oculus does it better, but I don't care. It is a fantastic experience, even playing the demos. The only thing I worry about is shortage of games. There's plenty of keep me busy for the time being, but I don't knwo what's coming down the pipeline. All in all, a must have accessory for any videogame enthusiast.

Long story short, the PSVR is the sweet spot for playing VR without having access to a beefy PC or the money to drop on a Rift or Vive. It's comfortable to wear and tracks decently well, all things considered. It's not perfect, but it's the best you're gonna get for the price, and man, VR is INCREDIBLE.

I purchased this on release day because I have always loved ps4 and read a lot of stuff about this one vs the other VR options. I have been very impressed by it. It is a hit at parties and fun to play. I like the "refocus" option if things get a little off center. It is comfortable on my head but because of everything I can only play about an hour at most. That is normal for VR. I also watch movies on it as well! Its like watching an IMAX movie at home. Its pretty awesome. I am very much looking forward to the new Resident Evil game. If I could I would buy it again.

All in all, I believe Sony did a great job implementing VR and making it "affordable" to the masses. This will be one of the hottest items at Christmas and one reason I bought it early. I am really happy with it and so far enjoying it. I want to see more games for it going forward and how they implement the tech. Sony did a great job making everything feel really immersive and doesn't feel like a novelty like the Wii did after a while. The demos, especially The Heist, really did a great job in making you feel like you are a part of the action. The resolution could be a bit better but not a deal breaker. ALl in all, I'm really happy with my purchase.

The only VR experience that I had prior to buying the VR was with smartphones. I had no idea that PSVR was going to be this great! I bought the bundle so I had everything I needed in the box. Setup was easy... Cable management was not the best at first but I was able to setup everything nicely! The 1st game I tried was Destiny. It is not VR compatible but if feels like playing in front of a movie theater screen! VR games feel very immersive thanks to the 360 audio and motion tracking camera. If you have the money I would definitely recommend this product!

The PSVR while the least powerful of the current headsets offer a great experience due to it's design and comfort and still very impressive visuals. The move controllers work well enough. I didn't have any trouble with them losing signal. In my opinion the biggest drawback is that they have no movement option such as a d-pad or stick. The breakout box is a little poorly designed as it doesn't passthrough HDR or 4k signals and the usb connection has to go in the front for the standard ps4 model. The game selection is large but most are very short. The system's success rides on making good full length games.

The PSVR is a very affordable way to fully experience VR. It is very comfortable to wear and doesn't hug your face like other models do. There also seems to be better support and games already available from more major studios. The resolution is a little less than my Oculus, but I really can't tell the difference at all. One of my move controllers didn't work correctly out of the box, but that's just the luck of me, I suppose. If you want to use VR but you don't want to spend over $600, this is the perfect thing to get!

This is great VR device. Once hooked up it doesn't take too much setup via the console and is great fun. I know there is more advanced tech out there and I expect in a few years that better versions might get produced. Good but not perfect.

    Compared to Occulus Rift headset

I tried both the Occulus Rift headset and the PlayStation VR headset. The graphics on the Occulus RIft were more sharper and detailed compared to the PlayStation VR headset, however, the PS VR headset felt more comfortable wearing after 15 min of use , compared to the Occulus Rift headset. The PlayStation VR headset was a little more heavier to wear, but made up for it by its (spongy) comfortable feeling on the head. For true hardcore gamers, PC Occulus Rift might be an option, but for the family gamer, plus a few console gamers, definitely go PS VR headset.

It's a bit expensive, but works great. I also have Oculus Rift and HTC Vive for PC, and overall the Playstation VR headset compares very favorably. It's my favorite of the three. It has the advantage of simple system requirements and installation, it's much more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time, it's cheaper and has a much better selection of software. The tracking mechanism isn't as robust as the other devices, but it's more than practical.

A Great Step Towards The Future of Gaming

I bought the Playstation VR Launch Bundle on release day and even though it is a bit pricey I have to say that this will take you to another world. I would call myself a pretty average gamer. I play in my spare time and I don’t play online or spend massive amounts of hours on games but I’ve been playing video games since I was kid and I love them. Video games are a part of me and I love to play them when I get the chance. I grew up with the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and the original Playstation. I was even lucky enough to try the Nintendo Virtual Boy when it was popular. I’ve experienced all the different variations and new game systems that have come out to date. It seems that with time and technology advancing the games keeps getting bigger and better. I feel now that we have now crossed a new boundary that when I was kid was only fantasy. I think from here on video games will only get more advanced and more immersive. The Playstation VR is I would say the first leap towards this world. The VR is massive loads of fun and it really does immerse you into another environment. I’ve heard some people complain about little things such as graphic quality, sensor issues etc. But you have to understand that this technology is still young. Kinks will get worked out and better and more advanced developments will follow. But for now just enjoy the ride. This system is truly a game breaker to me. From my experience so far I like so many things about it. I feel the sensors work great, the graphics are fine and the overall immersive feeling is what makes the whole thing worthwhile. If you have not tried to VR yet I suggest giving it a shot. It really is something that you have to experience to feel.

I have been waiting for this technology since the 80's and now it has arrived! The VR is great for parties, we always have a crowd standing in line to try the Ocean Encounter. Getting to put on the Batsuit in the Batman game is worth the price of the whole thing! Up next is the Star Trek game due out soon. The best part about this gear is that it works with the PS4 which is great on it's own. C'mon Gen Xrs, you know you want this!

I absolutely love VR technology and this is the most affordable option on the market. Sony appears to be offering some good support for it as well with a good variety of upcoming titles. Unfortunately, PSVR does give me some minor simulation (motion) sickness. In short doses of 45 minutes to an hour, this is a great experience.

So far the system performs quite well, the graphics are amazing. I wish the numb chucks were slightly heavier for a more realistic effect. Overall the system is great, the materials it's made of is very well built, honestly what really sold me were the small details on the design like being able to use it while using your prescribed eye glasses. Thank You Sony! Keep up the great work!

I think this is a stepping stone towards how the whole console industry is going to be shaped around. I actually am really looking forward to VR movies, the games are fun, graphics are good. I honestly did not notice any difference between original ps4,ps4slim, and ps4 pro. With that being said for someone that has a ton of time I can see this being absolutely awesome. I'm a single father, and a mortgage underwriter so I honestly used it for 2 weeks, and the effort of getting everything set up honestly outweighs just playing in 4k( yes I know checker-boarded.) It blows everyone of my friends minds how cool it is, but I'm to the point where I'd rather sit down and play a game. Not have to strap anything onto my head, and I despise the wand things. * NOTE TO SONY PLEASE ADD A D PAD ON THESE CONTROLLERS. For someone who has a lot of free time definitely worth it, but keep in mind to get in the door you really need a 4k TV that supports full HDR. So it's not cheap to get into (PC gamine is cheaper honestly.) I just buy everything new, because I'm a tech junkie. I probably will give this to a friend as I don't see myself using it, but it is an awesome product.
