Very versatile with good sound. Good quality and can be used in many environments. The only downside are the controls are not very intuitive.

The clarity is excellent. The headset that came with it is okay, it works. I had a $30 set that I use with it. Its small and light weight. The readout is easy to read, and its easy to use and setup. The presets are what I wanted. I can just set it to the stations that come in clear. I would recommend it.

I am on my 3rd one in 5 years & they stop working

I buy them to listen to public radio when walking the dog and have had three since 2007 because they stop working. I lose the presets even though i replace the battery before it dies, the on-off button doesn't work at times and I have to try 2-3 times before it turns off. The battery life is extremely short although I use Energizer or Duracell batteries. The price is extremely high for the quality.

    Poor Reception

Bought this radio over a year ago and use it about every day but am to the point that I am ready to get something different. I use this mostly for AM listening which is a good thing because the FM is absolutely terrible. AM works good outside, but if you plan to use it in a gym, don't expect much. I know exactly every spot in the gym that I can get reception and we have a very powerful AM station that I listen to. Even in a good spot it is about 50/50 depending on which direction you are facing. But the FM is worse. It is full of static even with the DX switch on. I live in town and there are a lot of strong radio stations. It doesn't matter which station you are tuned to, you will hear 2 or 3 different stations at once. If you are sitting at home and set the radio in a perfect place, the thing works just fine, but if you are moving around during a workout, the FM dial isn't even worth using. I am probably going to buy a Sangean pocket radio instead.

Seemed great, but reception not good at my gym.

Seemed like a great radio. I would have kept it but I needed something to use at the gym. Unfortunately, it did not pick up the gym broadcast well. Not sure if it was the gym or the radio. As far as local stations, it was great, as long as I was outside of the gym. Too bad too, I really liked it. Although it was a little cumbersome to put on.

    No durability

I needed a new portable radio and I bought one of these from a local store, but it was not worth the cost for me. I put my radios through a tough trial because I'm always dropping mine, but this radio wasn't up to that test. After about two or three months of taking this radio in and out of my pocket, nearly every single one of the buttons had snapped off, to the point where I had no control over the station locking mechanism, volume, or on/off switch, and could not listen to it at all after taking the rechargeable battery out afterward. The bottom line? Avoid this radio; the mostly-black SRF-M37W is the *far* better Sony radio, and you can drop it thousands of times and it will still work like a charm.

    Waste of money

Save your money. I wish I had read these reviews before buying this radio. I bought this at the store and actually paid more than adverstised on the website. The reception is horrible, it cannot be used in the gym. The armstrap is difficult to use. The headset is uncomfortable and has poor sound quality. Overall a big waste of money.

    OK For Strong Signals

    Posted .

I live in an urban area with many station choices. The strongest signals are received clearly but have a lot of spillover to adjacent signals. For example, FM station 101.1 comes in at 100.8, 100.9, etc., through 101.3. Other stations in that range cannot be heard or, even worse, are intermingled.

    Poor quality!

I bought this radio to use while jogging outside, and had to return it because the reception quality was so poor. If you like to listen to static, then this is the product for you! However, if you are like me and actually want to hear you music, purchase something else.

I purchased this product for my 81 year old father and it broke the second day he used it. The reception was poor also.
