This Speaker Sounds Amazing. The Color Is Amazing. Deep Bass & Sound Enough To Fill A Whole Room. Not To Be Replaced By A Subwoofer But If You Are Having A Small Party, This Sounds Amazing.

After purchasing a different speaker because it didn't go loud enough, I bought this speaker and was very happy with the volume and the amount of bass that the speaker had, and having blue tooth made it perfect.

I bought this speaker after buying a SRS-XB20 last year. The SRS-XB21 is the new version of that one. It has the same great sound and battery life, and is a really great speaker for under $100.

I looked for a long time before deciding on this Sony SRS XB21 Bluetooth speaker. It has great sound and deep bass. Don't spend the money on the other brands, this is the one.

This bluetooth speaker has great sound for such a small speaker. I wish my home system sounded this good. The Music Center app is also great to use with all my music apps in one place.

This is my 2nd Sony Bluetooth speaker, I also have the XB30. I really like the new styling of the XB21. The sound is typical Sony quality. Very impressive for its size. Highly recommended.

I gave this to my daughter for Christmas and we tried it while opening the rest of the presents and the next few days. The sound is awesome and device is very easy to setup and use.

I enjoy the long lasting battery. I don't have to recharge so much. I've used at a pool where there was splashing and it hasn't caused it to malfunction. Great sound and bass for its size.

Bought the Sony portable bluetooth speaker as a mothers day gift for my sister, she wanted a speaker that is lightweight where she can move to different rooms while cleaning the house. My sister is in love with this speaker!! Turns out she leaves the speaker in one spot while cleaning the house and she can hear the sound loud with amazing clarity!! I intended to buy its competitor, but once in the store and hearing another customer listen to it, totally changed my mine! My sister wanted a speaker in blue or pink and definitely not white. The white was available and its more of a greyish white. She loves it! 10 thumbs up!!

On unboxing, I found an attractive, nicely styled speaker. Warm blue tones, soft curves, tactilely pleasant cover. Buttons on top give you all of the normal controls that are easy to use and rubberized to seal out moisture and dirt. The speaker arrived fully charged and ready to go. After using it for a couple of days I was alerted to the speaker needing to be charged by a voice prompt that I’ve become familiar with after trying other Sony headphones and speakers. I used a USB charger and it recharged in less than two hours. It’s rated play time is about 12 hours, but I saw more like 14-16 most times. But I was using it at work so I couldn’t blast it really loud most of the time. On initial pairing, you receive a popup that prompts you to download the Sony Music Center app. The app gives you much more control of all special features, tone adjustment, control of lights and the ability to link multiple Sony BT speakers in “party mode”. Once paired, it’s very quick and easy to re-pair with your device. The app also has the ability to link to several music services like Apple Music, iHeartRadio, etc. This is nice, but most of the time I prefer to just use the respective apps. When you link to Apple Music, there is a lengthy delay while it connects and updates. There are two LED lights on the speaker. Both in the center at top and bottom. This is the one area where the speaker falls flat. In the pictures I saw prior to receiving it appeared that the lights would illuminate the entire colored strip at top and bottom. But they really only light up the center. There are three modes to set them in without much difference between them. The lights are not a selling point as they are quite lame. Sony has also built in some motion sensors that, with the app, can be utilized to do percussion beats by slapping the top, bottom, front or sides of the speaker. I tried this out and you have to slap kind of hard to get them to activate. This feature seems gimmicky and I doubt I’ll use it much. Who wants to slap a speaker when you really just want to jam to your favorite tunes? Lighting aside, this is a great BT speaker. Sony really built this well and delivers on some quality sound. Everything seals up nicely to make it water/dust proof, without having a negative impact on the sound. For me, it was a direct comparison with a LifeProof - AQUAPHONICS AQ10. I have been very happy with that speaker, but the Sony blows it away on sound quality and battery life. It’s also a bit smaller (improving on portability) and it’s about 50% less in price! One more note on the design….the unit rests on four small rubber feet. This is great on a smooth, flat, solid surface. But if you get it on something unlevel or set it on the sofa it will roll very easily. Not a big deal, but worth considering for your intended usage. I tried using it with Siri and had mediocre results. You really have to speak loudly to get it to capture your commands. Again, not a big deal for my use, but if you intend to use that a lot, you might be disappointed. The one feature I was not able to test out was party mode. Sony gives you the ability to link multiple speakers (in the same series) to sync the playback between them. I only had one unit to try, but I’d be happy to test this out if I had more of these. (hint…hint) In summary, Sony has a winner here! Great sound quality, water and dirt resistant, good recharge and playback times and a very good price point.

I really like the wireless Sony speaker, the sound quality is really great. Overall nice product because of the size it is easy to transport when traveling.

I take this speaker everywhere with me even on the kayak! Perfect sound and durable waterproof is a plus! Wish it came with an audio jack cord to plug directly into a laptop...

By far my favorite gift, it readily fills my living room with a solid bass and great ambience. Using it for date nights at home feel like we're at a fancy restaurant!

Sony is one of my favorite brands to own, this portable speaker is no exception. The sound quality is there, it's truly portable, and easy to use.

The SBS-XB21 is the baby brother to the larger SBS-XB41, but has almost the same outstanding sound but in a smaller package. Sound is deep and powerful with the extra bass (thus the “XB” in the model number), something you don’t always see in a smaller speaker at this price point. The extra bass can be turned off, but you won’t want to. The speaker can be paired with another similar model speaker to make it a single-side speaker (i.e. you can make one speaker a “left” speaker and the other “right”, allowing you to spread them out for stereo sound). Or, you can pair it with another similar model speaker using a single button using the “Wireless Party Chain” mode & extend the sound onto dozens of other Sony SRS speakers, extending your music throughout the house. The outside is a tough fabric which is water & dustproof and easy to clean. The device is also waterproof for up to 3 minutes in water, great if you’re using this around water. One warning is that the instructions claim that the waterproof features only cover “fresh water” and not pool water or salt water, which is more likely where you’ll find yourself dropping the speaker, so I can’t attest to the actual waterproof capabilities if you drop it in the pool or at the lake or beach. It also requires that the back panel of buttons & plugs be sealed with the cover, which further opens it to a risk, so just keep it closed. The battery is rated to up to 12 hours of power and charges over a couple of hours via micro USB. Note that this does NOT come with a power adapter, you’ll need to provide your own plug to put the included micro USB cable into, something that companies are doing increasingly which is frustrating. The speaker can be controlled with an app from your phone, allowing you to control sound quality, speaker pairing, and the flashing strobe lights on the front of the speaker that flash in sync with the music. Unless you’re running a rave, feel free to turn these off. The size of the speaker (about 7.5” and a little over 1 pound) makes it much easier to hold or to pack to carry with you than its bigger brother, the SRS-XB41 (which weighs in at 11.5” and 3.5 pounds). But as expected, sound on this speaker is not as deep as the SBS-XB41, but still far exceeds expectations for a speaker at this price point. In one of the odder features, this has a “feature” called “Party Booster”. This is a feature that allows you to hit the speaker in different places & make sound effects like drums, claps, yells, and cowbells. Yes, if you hit the speaker on the back side it makes a cow bell sound. This is one of those things that the engineers must have included as a joke, and I really don’t understand it. I turned this off immediately with the app. There are warnings in the instructions that the feature “can be accidentally turned on” by dropping the device. Yeah, thanks but I don’t need more cowbell. Overall, this is a great speaker and is a great choice over the more expensive SRS-XB41 if you’re looking for a speaker at a lower price point than the SRS-XB41. I highly recommend it.

What a great little portable speaker. We take it everywhere, camping, working outside, etc. Sounds like a home stereo. The music lights make you want to get up and dance!

Good price and has good volume and bass. The only issue is it won't connect with the smaller XB10. I think it will only connect with another XB21. Great speaker.

Bought this speaker for indoor and outdoor use to train a group of athletes. It has worked well with great sound, durability and is super easy to use. I’m happy with it!

Speaker is great, The volume is good and the sound quality is great! Like that I can take it anywhere with batteries, to the beach, down to the barn, and out to wash the car.
