So I already had a Sony 4K UHD player which was the best they made many years ago, but with my new TV last year with Dolby Vision and seeing some digital movies with Dolby Vision I had to upgrade my player to support everything the TV had. This player loads movies much faster than my older player does which is really nice. I love it's sleek size so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I don't think you'll find a better deal for a quality 4K UHD player with all of the latest tech built in.

Love this 4K player. Crisp clean video and sound is amazing. Only con I can think of is that you can’t download any additional apps. Only has a few preinstalled apps.

Very easy to set up. very easy to use. The picture quality is amazing! I cannot wait to use it on my new 77 inch Bravia to get the maximum resolution!

I purchased this as an upgrade from my older blu ray player. And this one has superb sound and the picture is like watching a movie in a movie theater. I have it set up with my Dennon receiver and a 7.1 surround system with Definitive speakers. If you are looking to upgrade to this player, I would recommend it. It is pricey, but you will not be sorry with it.

When it comes to Sony for DVD or Blu-Ray Players they're the best! This unit has all the bells and whistle's for top of the line players. The only flaw I found was that there is not enough screen format options. When it comes to getting rid of those nasty huge black bars in your widescreen movies! Ease of use is terrific, but settings can get a little complicated. Otherwise an Excellent player! overall!

I have only watched two movies since owning it, worked fine. I used it last night to watch Jumanji 2 and it froze during the after credits gag reel. Totally unresponsive so I had to unplug it, worked for the next movie. Hopefully one time issue.

I sold my Oppo in 2018 when I heard they were discontinuing ALL disc players. The Pioneer LX-500 would've been a great but expensive replacement but they are hard to find. So this is a very good replacement for the Oppo and it has all the correct connectors on the back and it comes with a 5 year warranty. So it doesn't have all the apps. Everything has an app including my 4k OLED TV so one more device to maintain apps is not a deal breaker

Bought this 3 weeks ago, i set it up using the hdmi 1 for video and hdmi 2 for audio. The picture was amazing on my Sony oled and the sound was incredible on my 5.1 channel Bose. But i had to return and exchange then finally retuned the second unit because in the middle of watching any type (4k or Blu-ray), the movie freezes and the whole unit turns off after about a minute. This happened on the 1st and 2nd unit that i decided to return.

I felt that at $599.99 it needed to be quieter and not heard from the couch. My Oppo UDP-203 had just stopped working and this was to be it’s replacement. The Oppo was dead silent from the couch. The Oppo has a full size fully backlit remote, the Sony remote is so small and lacking in good or any backlighting across all buttons. The inability to play CD’s, DVD Audio, or SACD with direct buttons on player: Play/Pause, track back, track forward, and stop are all missing. I would only recommend to one looking for the five year Sony ES Warranty.

This bluray player is so great! It has such a great user friendly setup system, wonderful picture and sound quality.

If you’re like me, you adore 4K discs, and are a bit resistant to use streaming video (especially in 4K), get this player. There are somewhat better products available (I also own an Oppo 4K player), but I’ve switched to only Sony 4K flat panels and decided to pick this player up! Still in the box, but reading reviews (both positive and negative), decided to grab it. For what it’s worth, give this a try! I’ll let you know what a I think once my home is finished! Cheers...

Okay, so this was expensive when I bought it & it still kind of is now. Other than the price, this 4K UHD player is amazing. The build quality is what I'd describe as "built like a brick". Looks and feels very,very solid. This is not what I'd call a small or compact player, so take that into account if your entertainment center is tiny. This plays every disc flawlessly and I've never had issues with 4K UHD/Bluray/DVD or even CD playback.

works pretty well, Netflix, Amazon and YouTube can be accessed easily. Easy to set up. Good quality picute.

I am using the unit for both movies and music and this player is just fantastic. The sound quality from both standard cds and high resolution files is very good. The display on the unit does not provide much information on the tracks being played, you will need to have the TV on to see album, artist, track time etc. This is no big deal for me but may be a consideration for others. I am very happy with this product.

Best Sony 4K player hands down. Superior video and audio - allows you to split the audio to another HDMI connection to your sound system and directly connect to TV. Only drawback is the lack of streaming content - easily overcome by those available on your other components. Streaming quality of the apps it does come with are Dolby Vision - super quality.

Bought this to replace my OPPO unit that was not 4K. I could not be happier with this Sony unit. The picture is outstanding, the sound is outstanding and Overall very happy with this purchase. You will not be disappointed with this unit. Worth every cent.

Mainly used for playing music. Interface to sort, filter, find songs and albums is tedious at best. Product literature barely addresses using a USB and how to navigate it to find what you are looking for.

excellent picture and sound for the $. CD and SACD are quite good for a multi purpose unit, lacks multi channel SACD output which didn't matter to me. Has 2nd HDMI audio output, which is useful if you want video to go to display and audio to separate processor/reciever
