This blu-ray player does an excellent job upscalling to 4K. It loads disks pretty fast. The sound is exceptional. The only negative is that it does not play 4K blu-rays. For the price, iI think it should.

Excellent connectivity. Outstanding sound. Lack of 4K playback is not an issue due to great up scaling.

I know a lot of people are lamenting the lack of 4K, but this unit is really intended for Hi Res audio discs in multiple formats and in that capacity it shines! It sounds great, plays all of the types of discs I own and and loads/boots fairly quickly. It's really nice DVD/BluRay video player as well. My only slight knock is the lack of compatibility with PAL formatted DVDs but that's common even on high-end disc players.

Upgraded my Pioneer Elite with this High end Sony. What a difference. It loads so quickly it is almost unbelievable. Super high quality picture and sound. Also, remote is simple and easy to use. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a good Upscaler for People who don't want 4k movies the Blu-ray movies are as close to or just like 4k and the sound on some 2.0 will play 7.1. The pitcher on most older movies at so sharp you wont belive it but the price is to high.. if you can afford the price get it.I will recomend This to a friend.

This player does everything exceptionally well except play UHD Blu-ray discs however it does upscale physical media and network playback to 4k with aplomb. HiRes audio playback is this players strongest asset. (SACD, DVD-A, 24/192 khz files.) It is also freaky fast and whisper quite. I have the player connected to a Sony 930D 4K TV and Marantz 6011 AVR. Awesome disc spinner and more. Solid Sexy Build. Thank You Sony!

Beautiful picture and fantastic audio when connected to both HDMI outputs video and audio for watching blu ray discs. 4K upscaling looks awesome, finally decided to get this player and glad I did...

This completed my system. I have the Sony 75" Bravia 4k HDR Ultra XBR75X850D and the Sony Sound Bar HTST9 the sdound was ok with these 2 and my old blu ray player. Buying this new player and adding it in now I get the sound I had hoped for when I bought the sound bar. Everything works flawlessly with each other as well.

upscaling 4k great digital audio comes in a very sturdy player not flimsy like most dvd players this a significant piece of equipment.

I have owned several Sony players over the years. Recently have had mixed results with the BDPS6500 and 6700 as both had problems. I did some research on the Uhp-h1 and decided to buy it. Glad I did because I think its the best player they ever released. I know its expensive for just a Blu-Ray player but the upscale is FANTASTIC, I challenge anyone to find a difference in image quality, its that good.

Great little Blu-Ray player. Got it at a great price being a floor model. Had all the features I wanted--Plus. Great picture quality, easy to set up and operate.

I was skeptical, but the upscaling features really improve the sound quality of streamed audio and CDs- better image, better instrument separation, etc. I'm hearing stuff that I didn't know was there! Fantastic with Spotify! I purchased the UHP-H1 to play SACDs and DVD-As, and it plays all of the discs that I've inserted so far. No problems playing basic (not 4K) Blu-ray or DVD video discs. I also use it for Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Great picture..Upconverts well. Plays virtually all audio formats. As good or better than Oppo.

At the sale price I purchased this item at, you really can't go wrong. Picture and sound are great. My only real complaint is that it usually takes a while to load, but to be fair, I don't have it set to the higher energy consumption "ready" setting.

This device will play almost any format . Sounds especially good on SACD's and Bluray concert videos. Better than average picture. Inability to portray 4K is not a problem currently due to lack of content and the sad state of today's movies. Download the full manual from Sony - you'll need it. Altogether, a satisfying purchase.

Big step up from my last Sony player. Everything looks crystal clear am rewatching all my old DVDs and bluerays and they now pop. Upscale is so much better

Great Blu-ray player plays just about every disc. Loads fast and the picture and sound is excellent. So hurry and get one with new lower price.

This unit worked as advertised. It shows great HD movies upscaled to 4K. Worth the money

I like it a lot, it plays all file types I have. It does read my 4tb hard drive! A bit slow but good q in term of sound

Upscaling is great on my 4k TV. Wish it would play 4k movies at the price if unit but other than that great so far.
