Sony takes into consideration all feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products and services. We apologize, this audio system needs to be plugged into a power source. It does not have a built-in battery. The BLUETOOTH standby mode enables the system to turn on automatically when you establish a BLUETOOTH connection from a BLUETOOTH device.
