|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The build quality is top notch, the light array is spectacular, the amount of different inputs is perfect. It does everything well except... it sounds cheap... there are plenty of different settings to control the sound, but none of them sound like a speaker this expensive should sound... Party on!!! I love the light display, I just wish it was aimed upwards instead of downwards. It would also be nice if it was dimmable without turning it completely off. The AM/FM tuner could be better, it can't pull in one of the most popular stations in my area unless I move the included antenna wire all over the place to get it to tune. The AM/FM tuning sucks as well, it's super slow, and even holding the button down won't make it go faster. All of the presets are set from the factory at the very bottom of the spectrrum, so even clicking through them won't help you find your favorite station any faster. The display is on the top, which is cool, but there's nothing on the side to see what setting or channel etc you're on if you're seated across the room using the remote. If you want to see what you're doing you have to walk over and check out the top of the unit. Over all I'm not impressed. It feels like the marketing team had way to heavy of a hand in this design, and the sound engineers got voted down and ignored. I give it 2 stars only because the lights are neat, it has high build quality. But I have speakers that cost much less than this one that sound much better than this one does.

Playable discs • AUDIO CD • CD-R/CD-RW in AUDIO CD format Playable files on discs MP3 files (.mp3)1)2) Discs/files that cannot be played back • You cannot play back the following discs —Data part of CD-Extra or Mixed Mode CDs* —CD Graphics disc —Super Audio CDs —DATA CD that is created in Packet Write format —DATA CD which has not been correctly finalized —A disc that has a non-standard shape (e.g., heart, square, star) —A disc that has adhesive tape, paper, or a sticker attached to it • You cannot play back the following files —A WMA file in WMA DRM, WMA Lossless, or WMA PRO format. —An AAC file in AAC DRM or AAC Lossless format. —The AAC files which is encoded at 96 kHz. —Files that are encrypted or protected by passwords. —Files with DRM (Digital Rights Management) copyright protection. • The MP3 PRO audio file can be played back as MP3 file. * Mixed Mode CD: This format records data on the first track and audio (AUDIO CD data) on the second and subsequent tracks of a session. I have over 1000 CDs so I want something that will play them. This is a deal breaker or lower the price since the CD player is useless. There is a record feature which is most likely why a standard store bought copyrighted music CD can’t be played. I don’t want to record them I just want to listen. I think this was a poor choice by Sony. I interpret the above that the only thing that will play is MP3 files on the discs listed. Very limited and useless to me.
