    Not worth the extra money

Sound quality not much better than their non-noise canceling version and the noise-canceling does not reduce noise for people you are talking to (only yourself).

(Almost) fixes everything the WI-1000X had wrong!

Having owned this generation and the previous generation (WI-1000X), I can confidently say I am pleased with the new features on this version of the headphones. Before I start, I would like to disclaim that as I'm not a frequent flyer, this review will not touch base on the atmospheric pressure optimization or the additional accessories. The bendiness of the neckband is wonderful! It's now much easier to store it in smaller areas compared to the older generation. The carrying pouch is half as wide, making it more realistic to store it in, say, your cars' glove box. The neckband now uses a Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack, instead of having them be two separate features. With the addition of the 3.5mm audio jack, you can use just about any aux port if you end up losing your original cable, which was something the WI-1000X needed quite badly (MicroUSB to 3.5mm, really??). The Type-C port this generation has also streamlines the process of finding a charger. Nowadays, most phones use USB Type-C, so you can charge your gear and phone on the same port. Unfortunately, with this generation, they ditched the buttons on the neckband and decided to put them on an earbud wire. Personally, I preferred the button-on-neckband style, as when I'm using the controls of my earbud I'm likely to do so fast and may accidentally pull the earbud out of my ear with this generations design. Another qualm I've had with this version is that they've ditched the wire pocket. When you're not using your earbuds, unfortunately they will have to dangle. However, they've added a magnet to put them together so they don't swing so violently. Overall, this generation is a VERY worthy pick, as it doesn't pull any punches that the true wireless earbuds have to, while having similar comfortability. I'd recommend them just for how comfortable they are!

    Disconnects after a while.

It disconnects from both my phone and tablet after about 30 minutes. I have to turn off both my tablet (restart doesn't work) and headphones. I have tried everything. I have the older model of this and the XM3 which are great but my next headphones will be another brand.

I would not give a 1 star had there been an option for "0 stars". Not a reliable brand at all. I had a different model of Sony headphones , and it broke by the hinge. Reached out to both US and Japan headquarters about the issue. Received a reply email stating that the Sony engineers agree that there is a defect with the product, but they cannot exchange it because it was out of warranty. If a product has a defect, and company admits it, then why does not matter what the purchase date it. Anyway I highly recommend to stay away from sony headphones in general.
