BlueParrott - B250-XTS Wireless Bluetooth Mono Headset with 91% Noise-Cancelling Microphone - Blue

As more of us started working from home over the last few years, sitting at a desk with a phone up to our ears hasn’t been practical, so it’s important to find a good wireless headset for your calls. The Blueparrott B250-XTS is on the list of sets to consider when buying one. I’ll just refer to it as the B250. The B250 is similar to many “operator style” headsets, in that you have a single mono speaker headpiece that rests against one of your ears, and a plastic adjustable piece on the other side that rests against your head. The length is adjustable. The microphone arm is flexible and can be bent and swiveled where you want it, on either side. It’s pretty comfortable – you will know you’re wearing a headset, but once adjusted correctly, it’s not exactly uncomfortable, though it could be better. Charging the B250 is via USB-C, and you pair it to your phone via Bluetooth, which is pretty straightforward. Claims are it has a range of up to 66 feet, but that’s most likely when tested with no obstructions; indoors with walls, I am able to roam 2-3 rooms away from my phone and still get a signal, though at the further ranges I do get a little big of digital garble. When going to the other end of the house (ranch style 1 story) from the phone source, I did lose signal, but this is with at least 4 walls and 40 feet indoors. I’m ok with the range for the type and price of this device. Noise canceling through the mic works pretty well. I went outside on a breezy day with some traffic noise nearby, and the person on the other end said they could still hear me clearly. Indoors, I'm told I'm very clear. It does also seem to block noise through the earpiece as well, but keep in mind you only have one ear in use since it’s mono, so you’ll still hear noise via your other exposed ear. Battery life is said to be up to 20 hours, but note, using noise canceling and cranking up the volume will reduce that max claim. I haven’t had it long enough to give an exact hour amount per use, but it easily is getting me through a work day when fully charged without running out of power. Buttons on the side allow you to answer calls or hang up, adjust the volume, and pairing. The side controls do add a little bulk to this compared to some, but it’s not overly heavy. Overall I like the B250. It makes calls convenient when you need to move around and frees up your hands, and the battery life and call quality are good enough to use for the day. I do wish the adjustable arm with the headrest on it would extend just a bit more for larger heads, and that the headrest piece came with a foam covering to make it more comfortable, in the same way you get foam pieces for the earpiece and mic. As it is, there’s no way I could wear it for hours on end as it just puts too much pressure on the side of my head – I do have to take it off several times during the day to give my head a break… maybe make it out of rubber or again, include a pad for it? So the B250 is definitely not perfect. But for the price, it’s worth trying as everyone’s tolerance and head shape is different.

This BlueParrott B250-XTS Noise-Cancelling Headset in Blue is a great way to go handsfree. The convenience of a handsfree Bluetooth headset has many benefits. This one doesn't fall short on quality, clarity, or convenience. Setup: Out of the box, this headset needs to be charged fully. It doesn't take that long at all, and once charged fully, it stays charged for a while, depending on how much you use it. It has an average of 20 hours talk time. Pairing it to your smartphone or tablet is easy, even for non-technical people. Learning to use: Learning to use this headset is a breeze. The big button on the side of the headset turns it on and off, is use for pairing the headset, answers calls, and ends calls. The lower buttons controls volume. Sound quality: The sound quality is outstanding. There is hardly any background noise to the other party. My voice was clear and concise, and the other party could hear me well. I could hear them without any issues at all. Music, GPS on my smartphone, and using my personal assistant on my smartphone was easy to do as well. The music sounded great, and the clarity of the GPS instructions were very clear. Physical aspects: The only drawback about this headset, was that it wouldn't stay in place on my head. The top part kept sliding backwards or forwards, after a few minutes. The microphone cover has a replacement included. There is also another earpiece cover included too. It comes with a USB C cable to charge the headset. All in all, I would definitely recommend this headset.

This is a great Bluetooth headset for those looking for one that gives you the best possible situational awareness because you would use only one ear to listen to conversation while your other ear has the perfect ability to listen to your surroundings unobtrusively. A good use case for this headset includes but not limited to truckers, receptionists, customer service agents, etc. Of course, you can also use this for Zoom meetings etc. so that you can ascertain the optimum voice clarity for both sides of the call. Being a Bluetooth headset that supports multi device connection, you can also connect it simultaneously to one other device such as your PC, tablet, phone etc. I’m pleased with the product and the following are my findings. Design and Comfort The build quality is quite good: a combination of high-quality plastics and metal. It looks and feels sturdy enough. In general, Jabra/ Blueparrot products are known for their quality and reliability and this headset is no exception. It comes with extras: earpiece and microphone foams, and both of them are of good quality, so I’d say this headset should last for quite a while. I use the leatherette, though, and have no need to use the foam. I have no problem with the fitting and I can place the microphone and the earpiece on either side of my head. The microphone unit swivels so you can position it on either side of your head. My only concern is that I have to fully extend the headset to cover my ear entirely and I would imagine that people who has larger head than mine would likely can still fit though with a bit less comfort. I can still feel the weight on my ear though that the headset is fairly light. Once it’s there, it will stay there nicely. Call Quality and Noise Cancellation The headset is rated to block 91% of background noise. Noise cancellation works and as stated it would not completely cancel out background noise. However, it’s effective enough for the other person to hear your voice clearly. The headset has good clarity for phone calls in terms of audio input and output, and I’m quite amused that it performs even better for apps. I’m getting excellent results for Whatsapp phone calls and Facetime. At the maximum volume level and using the default leatherette ear cover it’s already loud enough. Charging and Battery life The headset has USB-C charging port and it comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable that is quite convenient because most car chargers still use USB-A ports. The battery is rated at 20 hours of use so that’s great because I would only use it at most for several hours in a day. Conclusion This is an excellent Bluetooth headset in terms of build quality, comfort and performance.

With a home business that requires me to be on the phone a lot I have tried earbuds and headphones. Earbuds make my ears itch if I wear them too long. Headphones can be heavy and mess up my hair. If I just use my phone I don’t have my hands free to do to other things. I found the BlueParrott B250 XTS Noise Cancelling Headset to solve all those problems. It fits more like an head band and feels so comfortable. Although these say noise cancelling I can talk on the phone and still be aware of my surroundings with my other ear. I have both hands free to take notes or whatever I need while I am talking. They are heavy enough to stay in place on my head yet light enough so they don’t give me headaches. My set came uncharged but it did include a USB-C charging cord but no block to plug it into. It fit in an old IPhone block that I had laying around. I wish they would have included the block I love that the microphone easily slides up out of the way when I am not talking but just as smoothly slides down to talk. It stays where I put it. The set comes with a leatherette ear cushion that is so comfortable but there is also a Foam ear cushion included. There is already a microphone windscreens on the set but includes another one. I love the sound of the other person talking as it is so clear and sounds like they are right beside me. I do love this set.

I spend most of my day wearing a headset due to the constant ringing of my office phone. Having used BlueParrott headsets before, I appreciate their consistent quality and minimal issues. I’ve found this brand to be one of the most reliable brands I’ve used. However, there are a few missing features that I find hard to overlook. First, I wish this headset had a voice command for answering calls. Although the large answer button is easy to locate, I don’t always want to take my hands off the keyboard. Another notable absence is the “Raise to Mute” feature. It would be convenient to mute the mic instantly by raising the boom, rather than relying on buttons. I don’t always trust myself to press the right button when trying to mute. Additionally, the headset has a continuous blue indicator light which blinks when connected, and can be distracting. You can disable this feature by following the instructions in the app. On the positive side, the sound quality is excellent, and callers have given no complaints. The flexible mic can be positioned on either side, a detail I can’t seem to find advertised. Plus, the headset offers both foam and leatherette ear covers, along with a replacement mic cover. Overall, it’s a solid choice for everyday use, and I’m very happy with it, despite missing some advanced features.
