I added these to complete the surround sound on my Sony 4K TV. They made a huge difference! Very simple on screen set up. Wireless makes it very easy. Make sure they are not powered into an outlet that is switched on/off by a wall outlet! Duh!

I purchased two of these, and really like the speakers. I paired with my HT-NT5 soundbar to form a wireless surround sound set up that would be hard to achieve with wires. The sound for this is really great, and adds a nice dimension to everyday TV watching. It is not nearly as solid as true surround e.g. 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 or atmos setup.
The speakers also sound great standalone or in stereo mode in a Google Cast setup. In stereo, they beat Bose SoundTouch 20 head to head (I have several). The highs are phenomenal and fill a room.
The main issue I have with the devices is the delay that is introduced by Sony when playing in surround mode. This may not seem like a big deal, but when creating a group of speakers in Google Cast, this makes them off by 1-2 seconds. And since it is a delay, it can’t be corrected in the Google Home app (you can’t speed other speakers up). My original plan was to use this as part of a complex home audio setup that includes throwing music to both airplay and cast devices simultaneously. The delay that Sony has introduced in surround mode (impacts Soundbar users only) has made them impractical to use with other Cast speakers — which was my intended setup.
Bottom line: Very good speakers in a standalone environment, but have limitations when trying to combine in more advanced set-ups that include their sister soundbar.

I purchase the Sony TV with the soundbar which I had installed. I realized that something was missing and that surround sound would be perfect. I went to Best Buy and I saw the speakers and I wondered why these speakers are $199 a piece. Now I know why. These speakers are excellent, the sound is fantastic. They produce a very very big sound. I actually feel like I'm at the movies.

If u buy 2 and right now it's $50 off. Feels like ur at the movies. Don't worry about reviews saying you can't change volume of the speakers outside of main volume control. You can change vol and how far apart you are from the speakers so it's diff set up for diff households. No more IMAX for me!

I bought 2 of these with the Sony htnt5. Although the sound bar and sub didn't impress me at all, these little speakers sounded awesome. They connected easily and stayed connected until i manually disconnected them. Even when you turn the soundbar off and later turn it on these speakers connected effortlessly. I would recommend if you buy a good sounding Sony sound bar compatible with these. Unfortunately i had to return them because i bought them to go with the Sony sound bar but the sound bar did not sound great at all...

Once I got them paired with sound at, work great but getting there was a royal pain. Updates required on the sound bar and a lack of clear instructions made this frustrating (and I’m a very tech savvy guy). Can imagine a novice would simply return due to the poor detail on what needs to be done( multi-step, internet connecting/updating, etc). That all said, the sound spectacular and offer infinite setup possibility (within the cord length to a power source). I dig that the unit can control volume for an entire surround setup and that you can use these unit as solo sources to Bluetooth audio( from phone, computer, etc).
If you can get past the setup and pick these up on sale( I got them at 2 for the price of 1) , they are worth it.

Overall speakers sound great and do what advertised to a point. The issue is Sony initially said that they would work as rear speakers for 7.1 Dolby Atmos Soundbar. They do not. The software update is not out, and "is on road map but not soon" according to Sony. If you are looking to extend rooms and get whole home sound, highly recommend. Easy set up and sounds great. If you are looking for rear speakers, just make sure they are not for the 7.1 soundbar or they will not work.

I slapped 2 of these babies on some speaker stands I had and placed them behind the couch. These are paired with the Sony HT-NT5 sound bar and sub, and the Sony XBR65X900E Tv. They sound great - although you do need to turn up the output volume in the OSD.
FANTASTIC combo. I would recommend this pairing to anyone.

I purchased (and will be returning) two SRSZR5 speakers. I have no issue with the sound however the setup is confusing and involves many steps. After setup it still takes several steps to send music to them depending on what you want to do.
They did not work well with my Sony soundbar as satellite speakers for my TV. Because my Sony sound bar (HT ST5000) has the wireless sound built in I had to use multi room instead of wireless surround to connect all wirelessly. However I did not find this out until after the fact. Although they are listed as compatible with my system, they are not 100% compatible. When hooked up, the sound and video from my TV would not sync up and there is no way to adjust it when in multi room mode. (Note: They may work better with other Sony soundbars if they are wireless surround capable or if directly hooked to the TV, but I bought them for their wireless capability.)
Now for the set up headache: This is based on set up with a Samsung S7 Edge phone (android). You are limited in that you really need to use the SongPal (Music Center App) The instruction sheet says that you can hook to your soundbar manually but it is very difficult to figure out and was not an easy process. I never did get it to fully work without using the SongPal app. I was able to play from google music using my home network after setting up my wireless multiroom in the SongPal App. Within the Song Pal app you can set up groups. I set up 3 different groups. One for multiroom wireless with the 2 speakers and my soundbar (music only). Another for multiroom wireless with just the two SRSZR5 speakers. Then in order to have the speakers play together in bluetooth mode you must pair them in stereo mode which is another wacky set up as the instructions are not very clear on how to continue setting up with your phone after pairing the speakers together.
If you are a google music person it is fairly easy to cast from your phone in bluetooth mode once you figure out how. You have to set up from the Song Pal app then also set up in google play music. If you try to connect by bluetooth without using the app you will just give yourself major headaches. If you want your sound to also go through your soundbar when using bluetooth you have to go in to the soundbar settings and set the sound bar to recieve, not transmit the bluetooth signal...that is unless you have a smart TV and are broadcasting directly from the TV then the setup must be transmit.
THEN, if you want to use another app, say Apple Music, you have to pair your phone to the speaker that you initially set up the stereo bluetooth on. This is the only way to play music apps other than what is compatible with Google Play Music.
I suppose if you are only interested in playing music through one speaker it would be less of a set up headache. Not sure how they would work if you have Google Home with google assistant - they are supposed to be compatible. My bottom line take is that since they do not work well as surround speakers (at least on my system)..which makes them only useful for music..it makes sense to look at the many less expensive speakers that will hook up much easier to your phone and play from all apps with out going back and forth in the SongPal app AND they will sound just as good.

These speakers pack a punch in both the sound and feature department. They sound great as solo speakers, in a pair or a Google cast group or as surround speakers paired with a Sony soundbar!
Well worth the $300 for them both it changed the way I consume media.

These speakers are good. The cost is high even with matching with Amazon. I do not like that you cannot raise the volume of the speakers without raising the volume of the sound bar. It was hard to find speaker stands as the screw is on the top. I had to adapt ones I purchased. Would I purchase again? Yes, especially since I had rewards from other purchases.

These speakers are high quality, easy to install, and have 3D robust sound!!! I'm watching a movie and I sometimes think there's noise coming from outside of my house such as a dog bark, or sirens, but it's the surround sound from the movie! Also note these speakers do provide true surround sound when watching a movie, not stereo unless you are simply playing music. What's really nice is that these speakers get the job done without the use of running wires across the room, or in the attic. Awesome speakers for gaming too!!

Great Speaker for Background Sound

The speaker sounds phenomenal for the price. Balanced base, not too muddled mids, and not tinny highs. The only downside I have found was that the bass fades as the speaker gets louder. If you plan on using this speaker for around the house background audio (its intended use), then this is the speaker for you!

I LOVE these speakers!
I was in the market for a smaller set of speakers to use in my office. I also own a Sony soundbar that these will work with (as surround speakers), so I thought they would be a good investment that would have a dual purpose.
I'm extremely pleased with these speakers for their size. Great sound and functionality for the cost. I would highly recommend these if you are looking for something with a small footprint, but offers great sound!

I got these on sale for 99 a piece (WINNING). I connected a pair of of these to my HTNT5 soundbar and they sound AMAZING. Watched Justice League and I thought I was in the movie. The sound was so crisp and clean and the bass just enough. I also used one speaker on the patio via blue-tooth from my cell phone beautiful sound. I highly recommend these speakers a pair or even a single speaker. I suggest you get the pair, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
