Customers are impressed with the XBR X850D Series 75" TV's picture quality, ease of use, and vibrant colors. Many appreciate the 4K resolution and find the upscaling capabilities to be excellent, resulting in a great viewing experience even with non-4K content. However, some users have noted issues with the remote control's responsiveness and contrast in dark scenes. While the design is generally praised, a few customers mentioned the TV's weight as a potential drawback.

When shopping for a new 75-inch since on Thanksgiving day after dinner My12 year old 55 Hitachi plasma's HDMI's all went out. Contemplated fixing it cuz I loved it's picture but at the end of the day this TV smokes it. Glad went with the new purchase. And this TV is only two and a half inches wider on each side than my 55 was. Seems like prices really jump when you go from 65 to 75 but I really had to have a 75. In the 75 inch category this is the best bang-for-the-buck hands down after doing quite a bit of homework. Picture quality is awesome! 4K content is unreal. I walked in the store thinking Samsung but after really reviewing everything and talking quite a bit to a few of the guys at Best Buy that seem to really know their stuff this was the TV to go with without breaking the bank. We found it a little more than a month now and so far are very happy with this product.

Ok first off hats off to Best Buy for great customer service. I purchased this big tv in late April 2016. I replaced a 65" Samsung 4K which had a great picture but seemed small. Well let me tell you if you don't think 10" makes a difference your wrong. This is a big tv with one of the best pictures I've viewed. I can honestly tell you the picture you look at in the store is the picture you get when its hooked up at home. I have Direct TV and with the up scaling and some 4K content available it is quite a picture. I have not noticed any motion drag during any fast motion such as football or nascar, it is a great viewing experience. A week after I purchased the tv the price dropped 200.00, then the next week the price dropped another 300.00 Best Buy honored there price match and I'm a very happy customer. If your looking for a 75" tv this is a great one.

Great TV! Compared this model with comparable Samsung 75" TV and price. Sony was more recent release, with newer/better features, for same price. (And the Sony demo was superior to the Samsung.) Striking colors and contrasts with Sony, and terrific blacks and whites. No Bleeding nor Gray Areas (was biggest concern). Wonderful upscaling to 4K/UHD with incredible details, especially with close-ups. Easy to use remote. Just fabulous.

The reason I bought this TV was it's size and price point. This TV is far from perfect if you have a real discerning eye. There is a decent amount light bleed from the edges and different angles give different results. I streamed a google play movie and it's ratio had black bars on top and bottom of content. These showed up dark grey with minimal light bleed. I am coming form a plasma TV, which I'm finding had some of the best displays out, even compared to today's LED & OLED's. The overall picture quality using directv is good, not amazing! Streamed 4K content is pretty amazing! Stock sound is decent, Android TV is good, many settings to tweak overall experience. Standard picture setting still need to be adjusting to avoid sports motion blur. When I look at the size of this TV and the cost I paid, I'm pretty happy. The next step up was like $2000 more. Which is why I stuck with this TV. Best buy was great to deal with!

It's big,it's beautiful,it's a Sony.I had last years model in a 55" and due to health am home much more now so I wanted a bigger TV in my H/T and this was as big as i could fit/afford and i couldn't be happier it is an incredible TV for sure.
It took a bit to get used to a TV this big but it is just so awesome, even better 3 days afyer i bought it it went on sale online for $300 cheaper so BB price matched and i upgraded the 2 year ext warranty to a 5 year and still got money back-SWEET
The only thing is having to go online to get the optimal settings for this-why wouldn't it come already set for the best?? That is my only issue at all with this behemoth-this TV will take 2 people to set up and put in place also

I don't use the TV portion of this Sony so I don't know much about the off air quality.
I use it only as a display and get TV from a AT&T tuner (TV box) I think that the picture is super and 4K makes even a DVD look super, Blu-Ray's look even better then before.
Sony has seem to always deliver a high quality picture, it does have multiple HDMI inputs but I use only HDMI 1. All my switching is done at an AV Amp and I don't use the speakers in the TV.
Sony offered a year end price that was to good to pass up, it is worth it.
Sports and fast moving movies may show motion blur but it could be from the broadcast also.
All in ALL it's wonderful and we love the size and picture.

Great TV. I did a lot of research for many many months on various TVs from LG, Samsung, and Vizio. I won't up buying this Sony 75 inch 4K HDR TV and could not be happier. Once I got all of the adjustments and place the screen is absolutely astonishing and everyone who comes over to my house can't believe how nice the screen and how brilliant the colors are . I would encourage anyone buying a 4K TV to spend the extra money and get the high dynamic range feature especially on the Sony TV because it is immaculate. I am enjoying the picture so much I have an even begin to use the browsing features on this TV but I will soon . I would recommend this TV to everyone.

So, I'll start with the product. The tv is everything I hoped it would have been. The picture is good quality and color is great. However, what really impressed me was Best Buy hassle free service. I had this TV delivered due to its size, and somewhere between shipping/transportation and me setting it up, the screen was cracked internally. I called expecting it to be like pulling teeth. BestBuy offered to pick up the busted one and bring me a new one, no questions asked. Because of that is why I am writing this review, and I will from here on out make big electronic purchases through them. Shopping on the internet to save $100 just isn't worth it to me.

To start off, 4k TV's are all over the spectrum, HDR is a mixed bag and depending on whether you purchased an edge lit set, full array with local dimming or went large and bought an OLED, each will have different levels of quality. The XBR 75 850D is an edge lit model, so don't go home angry or deciding that you're going to exchange the panel two or three times until you find "perfect" uniformity, NOT going to happen, accept that it is a limitation of the technology and that they will ALL exhibit a certain amount of "flash lighting" around the edges. Second, HDR on this model is not the best, I would say its somewhere in the middle of the pack, this particular screen does not get bright enough to give that aggressive punch that is needed for solid dynamic range. Third, this is an android TV, so the OS does present with the usual minor bugs that you encounter when fiddling around on a day to day, nothing major and nothing that can't be solved with a restart or an uninstallation of an app's latest update. All of that being said, I love this TV! When I'm watching 4k content its great, even 1080p looks phenomenal and the upscaler does a good job. The remote has a voice search option that works quite nicely, google chromecast users will find that this model has that built-in and it automatically detected my bose soundbar and defaulted to external speakers allowing me to use the sony controller for raising or lowering volume. As long as you are aware of its shortcomings, its a great price to performance ratio when comparing to the far more expensive models out there. If you can swing the extra $1,500 to $2,000 for an OLED or a full array model, by all means go for it, for the rest of us on a budget, this is perfect.

Was able to get a killer deal on this TV vs. a Samsung. With Sony being a high quality TV I had no hesitation in purchasing it. I knew that the TV would deliver what I expected and it's done that. We've had it for a about 6 weeks now and I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase. Speakers are nice and produce decent sound if you didn't have a speaker setup. Speaker quality wasn't a concern for me though since I have external speaker system I'm using. It's super clean looking and sleek. Currently we have it on a TV stand but plan on mounting it on the wall which will make things even cleaner looking. Really happy with this TV.

We replaced Samsung smart TV 46 inch with this Sony 65 inch TV. The difference was huge in terms of display clarity, color richness. The proof was visible through 4k Videos available on youtube. Little extra cost for comparable TVs from other Brands is worth it.

I had looked at several different TVs, and virtually every one had enhanced colors, with the exception of the Sony line. This particular model had truer colors compared to most of the other TV lines, and the colors were close to the XBR75X940D- without the additional $1,200+ price tag. We haven't viewed anything other than a YouTube video in 4K, but the picture was exceptional! It was almost as if you could step into the picture!!.The only negative as far as the TV is concerned is that the remote is a little tricky to use, but it doesn't take long to adjust to it. I highly recommend this TV!!

We had a 55 inch HDTV that was probably 7 years old. It wasn't a smart tv. This is such an improvement from that tv. It was definitely worth it. We don't have cable so having easy access to Netflix, Amazon, etc is nice. The picture quality is nice and the selection of android apps is great.
The only issues we have had are: (1) when watching a dark scene, the tv cannot seem to make up its mind about the lighting. It brightens and dims sporadically. I thought maybe it was just the movie we were watching at first but it has done it on multiple shows. (2) when we have used certain apps the remote has stopped working when we switch back to tv mode. We have had to reset the tv on numerous occasions to restore function.
