the size is amazing and I love how thin it is. Also has a very sturdy stand. Colors are great . Whites are really white but the blacks are a little too dark

Purchased this television for my basement and added a surround sound system to this television. Sony has outdone their picture quality and the colors are crisp and clean right out of the box. Really love the thin size of this television and installed on my wall. The size works great for anyone sitting in the basement can see the picture.

The Good: When you are viewing the TV looking straight at it or within +/- 15 degrees the image is AMAZING! The upscan on DVD's, old TV shows, and anything low res is awesome. The Apps are plentiful and easily accessed. The Bad: When you view the TV from angles greater than 15 degrees, the picture really looses contrast and appears flat. The greater the angle, the more washed out it is. Bottom line, if you're sitting in front of the TV you won't be disappointed. But if you have a 16' viewing room like me, you better hope you don't get the seats off to the side. I'd still recommend this TV for all the other reasons and maybe if I had a bigger room, I'd give it 5 stars...

What a beautiful TV picture! And, 4K makes it even better for the 75 inch size. Love the smart apps too and the ease of working the remote. I think Sony is one of the best products you can buy and my new TV is a good example. One thing I would like to have more instructions on is the voice command feature. Haven't been able to use it very effectively. But, I plan to go on line to see if there is a tutorial and hopefully that will help. I don't think you can go wrong with this TV, except for the price. I'm sure the price will go down, but I couldn't wait.

Bought this TV to replace my 73" Mitsubishi, and this is amazing! Bright colors, low glare, loud speakers, a tad heavy, but overall excellent.

I narrowed my purchase between Samsung and Sony. The deciding factor was availabity. I am very pleased with the Sony. Easy setup, great picture. I married the tv with a Sonos sound system for a satisfying movie experience. Although 4K content is limited, the upscaling of 1080p makes the purchase even more worthwhile.

This TV is amazing! The quality is unbelievable and the view is just spectacular. Couldn't have purchased a better TV for a decent price!

I was originally shopping for a 65 inch tv, then I was considering a 70 inch, but there weren't many choices in the store. Then I saw the Sony 75 inch XBR 8500D. Great picture, features, and size for our finished basement.

I was surprised to get a Sony 75" at this price point. The android TV makes it great if you pair it with google chromecast supported apps. It also has a very usable and smooth interface as compared to other products I've used like the Panasonic and LG smart TVs. I don't know enough about HDR to give a perspective on this, and from what I have heard, this TV under performs in the category. I have tested some videos in 4K on streaming services, and it seems obvious that the video is up converted as it seems a bit grainy. This is likely due to the service and not the TV. The 4k seems a bit overrated. Most video, even action seems smooth and authentic, and the new processors perform well for most any event (sports, action movies, dark films, etc..). Ultimately, the feature, size, price, quality and usability have made this a great purchase for me. Audio and video have performed well enough for my use (TV streaming, and Blue Ray movies). I do use an external audio system as for a TV of this quality, seems appropriate.

My wife was a hard sell on the size of this TV but is now a believer in this being an excellent purchase for our media room. We now spend more time upstairs watching this 75" screen than we do in the den with the 46" screen. Great colors and sharpness of image

I have never been disappointed with Sony and this was no exception. This 75" was an upgrade from the 65". This beast is huge! The picture is crystal clear and the colors are perfect with no tweaking. I set it up myself with no problems. The 4K picture is beyond belief. My last TV was also 4K but I couldn't view 4K because the internet was too slow to stream and there was no other content. Now with 50Mbps internet and DirecTV's content I have enough 4K content to keep me busy. It really delivers!!!!!!

Definitely would recommend this unit. Beautiful picture, vibrant colors, and does a great job upscaling my cable signal!

I did a ton of research on 70"+ tvs before purchasing this one. We have had a 55" box tv for 15 years so I felt justified in splurging. This Sony met everything on my list and more. The picture quality is amazing. It is loaded with all kinds of apps and so easy to navigate. The only thing I had read online was it has a poor back light so dark scenes are not as clear as some of the other tvs. I haven't noticed it to be an issue. My husband is over the moon with this.

The Sony XBR75X850D is an excellent UHDTV. The picture is clear and bright, no noticeable bright or dark spots, and the colors are vivid. I had the Best Buy Geek Squad set it up to avoid any installation damage (which I believe is why some people have given bad reviews - take these big TVs out of the box the wrong way and you can cause damage leading to uneven brightness or dead lines - let an expert handle these expensive items!) The Geek Squad did an excellent job and I strongly recommend them. I had them do the full install: They installed my tilting wall mount (purchased separately), run the cables through the wall (an additional cost that I felt justified), mounted the TV and connected it to the internet and to my AV receiver and Bluray player. When they left, my video room was completely set up and ready for movie night! The Geek Squad service seems expensive, but unless you or your helper (it takes AT LEAST 2 people to handle these large TVs) have up to date AV experience, I wouldn't advise you to try iy yourself. I've had the set for just over a month and I am extremely pleased.

Love the TV I was considering the next size down but went with the 75 very happy with that decision. if you can afford it go bigger we love the picture color is fantastic easy to set up. if you do have any problems Best buy is more than happy to help sales person at the St Peter's store named Chuck is very knowledgeable he works the TV area. Hope this helps in your decision also went with the extend warranty witch I feel was very good for the price.

I have always had great luck with Sony products. Stopped by Best Buy looking for an iPad cable and my wife came across this TV on sale. Its kind of hard to say no to a new TV when your spouse is the one pushing the idea. So far we could not be happier, the picture is great and I couldn't beat the price. The only thing that we are not too crazy about is the Sony remote - it is very confusing to use. We just decided tp stick with the cable remote.

Overall we like the tv for the size and picture quality, especially after tinkering with the picture settings. The downsides have been 1. We keep getting a pop-up saying the Google services have stopped. 2. We don't have a Google play store app for us to download more apps, like HBO Go for example, which it shows as an app on the tv already but says 'not available' when we try to log in. 3. The remote isn't very user friendly, the buttons don't light up and are hard to get the feel of. Overall though we are happy with the tv for the price.

I generally do a ton of research and by research I mean I go to 3-4 Best Buy's and ask numerous different associates their opinions and then get even more confused but not so much on this one. I have been a Samsung guy for years but everyone said if you're willing to go this big this particular tv is the best bang for your buck. I had a calibrated last week and am extremely happy with the picture quality and the TV overall very easy to set up and use.

Incredible picture. Excellent product. The TV is 75 pounds heavy so make sure you get MORE THAN a strong enough wall mount. Decide whether or not to get a swiveling wall mount or a stationary one. My TV is so big it's almost unwieldy when I tilt or swivel it. My wall mount unit holds up to 150 pounds.

We have been looking to buy a large flat screen television for several years now. We kept going back to Best Buy because we buy all of our electronic needs there. The young man that helped us was so much help and made it easy to understand. The set up crew were absolutely the best. They made sure we knew every thing about the television before they left. So far, we are not disappointed. It has a beautiful picture and is easy to manage.
