I purchased this phone online from Best Buy a week ago as an open box-excellent product. It arrived in 4 days and exactly as described with everything included in original box. I am very pleased so far with it- it's fast has very good battery life good camera and much easier to use one handed than my Moto g5 plus which still works excellent just cracked top half of screen. I'm using it on Verizon and it works fine! I did have one problem at first-I could send texts but not receive them. I had to turn off HD voice and then back on after 10 minutes and it's worked fine since. That only worked after I had the my verizon app updated on the Sony and toggled HD voice on that it wouldn't work going through my tablet. I highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a smaller smartphone.

So tired if the ridiculous prices if these "flagship" phones. This Sony has everything you need, great speed, lots of storage, solid camera and less then half the price of these other phones. the screen is good and it's UNLOCKED so no stupid contracts or carrier bloatware. LOVE IT!!

I had hoped to find a smaller phone with fast performance, and this is exactly that. Miss the days of using your phone with one hand? Buy the XZ2 Compact. Screen quality is great, it's super quick switching between apps, and has an above average camera. Highly recommended.

Nice phone that works well. Good size (not too big and not too small). Camera works great. Good battery life. Does not have a headphone jack, but box comes with headphones and an adapter. Uses USB Type-C charger.

This is one of the last few compact phones you can get that's relatively up-to-date in terms of processor, camera, memory/storage, etc. It definitely looks and feels sleek. The UI takes some time to get used to if you're moving from another Android phone. Unfortunately, Sony did not create the necessary firmware/software to enable the usb-c port to output to HDMI via an adapter. It also lacks an option to use wifi calling . An otherwise solid phone, however.

Replaced my Z5 Compact with this phone when the camera died on the Z5. This phone is slightly taller and a bit thicker than the Z5, but is still a very good phone in a usable form factor. Given the current trends for larger phones, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to find a successor in this size range, so hoping this one lasts. Sony has a good, clean software load with minimal bloat, and the phone has been updated regularly. The camera is good, but not quite to the Pixel 3 level. The screen size increase is nice, as is having the fingerprint reader enabled.

This is a great phone for those of us who don't want one that approaches the size of a home-entertainment center. The picture and hand-held audio qualities are high, and the battery life long. Plus it is of a size that fits nicely in dress-wear clothing (no cargo pants required just to pocket the thing). The hands-free speaker does sound a bit tinny, which is a negative, but I am otherwise satisfied in all every capacity.

If you're looking for a high end Android phone that's not huge, this is it. Even though it's a 5" phone it's only marginally longer than my 4.6" Moto E4. It fits very well in a shirt pocket even with the Ringke case. Good battery life. Buy it while you can, Sony may not be making small phones for long and it's the only good option in a 5" or less Android phone in my opinion.

I really like this phone. Fast, latest tech, sharp camera, great battery life and comfortably small. I can go two days between charges, if needed! I really wanted a wider screen, rather than a tall (2:1) screen, but this the best I could find for a up-to-date Android phone. If you get one, you can adjust the text size as needed for the screen size and your vision.

After being with Samsung throughout the decline of the S series I decided to switch it up. So far the only con is that wifi calling doesn't work with AT&T. The size is perfect, fingerprint reader works great after getting used to the new location, battery will last almost two days with moderate use. Sony has won a loyal Samsung owner.

I bought the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact on sale for $399. The other phone I was considering was the iPhone 8, but those were another $200 or so at the time I made this purchase. I have been using this phone for three weeks now. My only complaint is I had to install a third-party app to get voicemail! Without the app, I get a notification the moment a message is left, but nothing later when I open the phone app and click the voicemail icon. It shows no voicemail, but I can call *86 and listen to a new message! Other than that, there's been a bit of a learning curve, but the phone itself is great. Photos/videos are especially good (for a phone), even in lower light settings.

So this is a powerful little phone. I typically hold off on purchasing a phone for a little until I'm sure of the stability of the hardware and software. Firstly I love the size, I can't stand huge phones that require 2 hands to use. It fits neatly in my pocket and in my hand. The fingerprint reader works really well and more handy than I thought it was going to be. The phone is super quick, the screen looks great. Pictures are nice and so is video. I like that it has a waterproof and dust proof capability. I took it into the sea and I didn't have a problem. It connects to all my bluetooth devices so far without a problem. Honestly for the price I don't know why people bother with other manufacturers.

Just a perfect handheld size. Plus The camera is great (the 3D fave scanner is fun but takes some time to scan), and the battery life is a day plus (my other phone never made it this far in the day). Unlike apple, Sony gives you everything in the box - headphones, quick charge 3.0 charger, usb c cable, and usb c to headphone jack adaptor. Yes, the phone is fat, but you can’t tell when holding it because the curves just make it easy to hold. It also got Android Pie the day I booted it. Sony’s home launcher is just enough on top of android to make it a favorite. I paid for the full Nova launcher previously but don’t feel the need to use it , at least for now.

The overall functionality of the phone is pretty good, the battery life is pretty impressive. The device can handle multiple applications and run them smoothly. I am happy with the size of the equipment that can fit right in my pocket easily.

I was originally going to go with the xz1 compact. I liked the old Sony styling, but I'm glad I went with the xz2 compact. The phone is extremely comfortable to hold. It's extremely fast. And I get a little bit more screen real estate compared to the xz1. Not to mention they bumped up the internal storage to 64 gb. Battery life is great, I get 2 days comfortably and sometimes even 3 days. I'm marking off a point because sometimes the phone lags up a bit when taking a picture/viewing it, and rotating the phone to landscape mode. Other than that, its an excellent phone.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 compact is one of the best android phones I have ever had. It truly is an amazing camera, phone and device in general. Also, the compact size is a refreshing change to the tiresome phablets!

I am very happy with my phone. I do not want a movie screen in my pocket. I do a lot of mountain bike riding and a smaller phone is easier to carry. All the apps I want work well there is no lag and the screen is decent. Phone calls are clear, the camera works well and the images are crisp. I can use my favorite web browsers and they are very responsive. Social media sites are served well too. It isn't phased by the damp or dusty conditions at my work, outside in the rain or near a workbench.

When this launched, it had flagship specs in a very tiny package. A great phone with near stock android. You can uninstall most of the Sony packaged applications and tie it to your playstation account. Sony has been very good with the android updates and this phone is great for people who want something small and powerful. I have small hands so it is very welcoming. There were only few times i wished it had a larger screen (such as watching youtube), but the quality was still there.

I've used many phones through the years. I've grown very accustomed to large screens, large form factors, and mainstream phones. This phone blew me away and reminded me how nice it is to use my phone with 1 hand. The display is OK, the camera is OK, and the software is so so. However, the overall package you receive with this phone overshadows the above opportunities. The battery life is surprisingly good. I'm getting about 5 hours of heavy use screen on time (YouTube use, facebook, gaming and etc). I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a solid 1 handed use phone... Actually I would recommend to anyone in the market for a new phone in general.
