Excellent in most respects. Frustrating problems with Bluetooth. On the plus side - great build quality and speed. I returned mine after the Bluetooth drove me crazy for a few days. Got a one plus 6 and realized too late I walked away from the best sound quality I have ever heard in a phone (if you can get it to play through your headphones). Lastly, 4g of memory is an insult in 2018. My $200 Moto had that much.

The phone is much faster than my old phone, good battery life. Really like the small size compared to what else is currently available.

Finally I found an android phone that isn't a mini tablet and can be used on Verizon or at&t. The Google pixel 2 was the only other option I could find but it looks so dated. The Sony is fast small has a great screen good camera, except where lighting isn't ideal. Negatives are the button locating are odd which takes getting use to and it's a little thick. Battery life is average.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact does work on Verizon Wireless. Enabling HD Voice is required to enable all phone features. I was able to link it to my Sony cameras with Android software without much problem. Great size, which is a little larger than the older Xperia compact products. I now have an Xperia 1, but ponder switching back and forth between the two often. Great phone.

We bought this Compact version of the Xperia XZ2 for our daughter's smaller hand. It has resulted in no drops (yet). Camera makes noticeably higher quality pictures than her previous budget phone. The only downside so far is the placement of the fingerprint sensor puts it near the center-back, reducing the pop-socket's effectiveness.

Good all around phone, lots of features at half the cost of the flagship phones. only drawback is because it's compact, the battery isn't as strong as my husband's (he had the big version). I run allot of apps, so unfortunately this was a deal breaker for me. I did return and get the Google pixel 3 instead.

I'm very happy with this Sony phone. The size is perfect for me because it fits inside all my handbags. The display is brilliant and the phone is quick to respond when I touch the screen or push a button. I'll get much use out of the SD card I installed. Great job, Sony! Also, it's nice to get rid of the Huawei Nexus 6P, since I couldn't stop wondering if Huawei and the Chinese government were monitoring me!

Needed an upgrade to my Samsung S4 Mini to handle increased performance requirements for various apps, but didn't want to give up the small size and still stay with android. Sony's Xperia XZ2 Compact was the perfect replacement. Crazy power yet small enough for one handed operation and pocketable. My first unlocked phone purchase, and BestBuy helped get everything up and running with Verizon. One month and no regrets.

I don't like table size cell phones so was looking for a compact or mini size and settled on the XPERIA XZ2 Compact. There is a learning curve coming from my Samsung S4 Mini, but I am getting there. If it didn't cost so much, it would have got 5 stars.

I received this phone for an honest review at no cost, and while I'm mostly impressed, I'm also a bit disappointed with some features. Best features: Really nice camera Video, super slow-mo 4k HDR recording Useful Physical Camera Buttons 64gb included and Expandable memory 3D software included Not great: Plastic backplate Adapter needed for headphone jack Some bloatware What Phone comes with: USB C charging cable with plug USB-C to Headphone jack adapter Sony Headphones (earbuds) Different Sized earbuds Hardware: Snapdragon 845 4 GB RAM 64 GB ROM IP65/68 NFC Fingerprint reader on backside Stereo Speakers 2870 mAh battery So I am impressed because this is a small phone (compared to today's standards) but it's designed that way and it's very snappy. The phone is what I would call a "sleeper." In my opinion, it's not a great looking phone, but the hardware/software makes it a powerful phone. What I like about the camera is that you have a camera button on the side that allows you to push it halfway to focus, and then fully to snap the photo. During camera mode, the volume buttons serve as zoom and that comes in handy, especially if you're used to zooming in and out with the pinch feature. The quality of the camera is really high, 19mp rear and 5mp front. The colors are very natural looking and more lifelike than most phones I've had. It has tons of customizable features and a 960FPS super slow mo camera. One nice feature is predictive shots where the camera automatically snaps several photos based on optimum features on screen and then you can choose the best one. That way you let the camera do the work for you. There is a 4k HDR recording feature but I don't have a 4k TV, so I wasn't able to appreciate that high of quality. The included headphones are attachable via the USB-C to headphone jack adapter (included). The earbuds are interchangeable to fit your size, and there are different sizes included. The battery is strong and lasted me a couple days with medium use. The stereo speakers sound good, and exceeded my expectations for such a small phone. The phone is good to hold and easy to grip compared to many current glass phones. The fingerprint reader is on the backside and was very responsive when using it to unlock the phone. The phone comes with some 3D software that allows you to take 360 degree images of faces or things. It works nicely but I don't see myself using it for normal everyday purposes other than entertainment as you need space around the object and it takes about 3-5 minutes to take a 360 degree image. The included software does allow you to share these images through different means or use them as avatars, among other things. It also has some software for augmented reality where you can have certain things show up on your screen where your camera is looking. For example, I had a little dinosaur running around on my couch and it was mildly entertaining. You can play some games with it too. The phone has some weight to it, but it is sturdy. Overall, for a compact phone I think this phone is probably the best out there. It's also a sleeper so it doesn't "look" expensive, but the included hardware/firmware definitely don't disappoint. If you're in the market for a smaller phone, I definitely recommend this one. Just know what you're getting into.

I love Sony high-end compact phones. It is hard to find small Android phones with top-end specs and I expected this one to be great like the prior Xperia Compact phones I've purchased. However, my phone had a defective speaker out of the box. The sound was muffled and distorted as though the speaker was blown. I made the mistake of going through Sony customer service for a warranty claim instead of returning to Best Buy, and I've been in customer service purgatory since then. I don't have a phone now (returned to Sony for repair) , don't know when I'll get it back, and am out $750 (phone + shipping costs- Sony actually sent me a label to pay for shipping the day after they sent me shipping instructions where NO mention of a pre-paid label was made and other directions where provided.) Example of how things have been going with Sony customer service- they told me because I didn't use their prepaid shipping label ( the one that wasn't sent with or referenced in the shipping instructions), my phone may end up in "quarantine" for an indeterminate amount of time. I bought a defective phone and now don't know when I'll see it again. This has been a terrible experience and I would strongly recommend steering clear of Sony. If you do go for it, use Best Buy for warranty work!

I had to return. Not because it is a bad phone. Mine had problems from day one with the newest version on android which came on the phone. This is a problem that may well have been solved by Sony or an update. I have used there phones and none were a regrettable experience. Great camera. Plus Best Buy is very reasonable about returns. However I would recommend this phone if purchased at Best Buy only. I believe in unlocked phones.

Fast phone, good screen, mostly stock Android, good sound. My only complaint is that I wish they made the noncompact version work on Verizon, I would have liked the bigger screen.
