Taking this out of the box, it feels good in my hand. Even though the back seems to be made of plastic, it doesn't feel that way. It feels like it has a non slip resistant coating on it, definitely feels to have some thickness and weight to it, but not too much. The bezels are slightly bigger than I would want since the smaller the bezel the better these days, but that's all personal preferences. The fingerprint scanner is in the perfect spot to me. Setting up the phone was easy and snappy with help from the Snapdragon 845. Playing games or scrolling thru multiple apps I experienced zero lag and everything is instantaneous. It can handle basically anything you throw at it. The camera on this device takes gorgeous photos and high quality videos, including a super slow mo option even though it's slightly gimmicky with like a 2 second clip. It's still pretty fun to play around with. There is also a 3D software that allows you to take a 360 degree picture of things, when used correctly it is a really cool app. The screen boasts a Full HD resolution. It looks very good and there's a ton of options to edit and change the screen to your viewing choices. The only downside is the size, and if you're buying this phone you already likely played around with it already and know how big the screen is. This phone offers alot of customization and doesn't leave you stranded into one single theme or one look for the life of the phone. Bloatware is relatively small compared to some other phones I've had so not an issue for me. I like this little phone. I like the size and I like that it's thick. It's different. In a world full of thin bezel-less phones this is a different phone that packs a powerful punch. Will it catch on? I don't know. I guess time will tell. I would invite you to head to Best Buy and put hands on it and judge for yourself.

Would not sync to my headphones, would not recommend

This phone has some nice features. It's easy to setup and the apps open fairly quickly, but I think the best feature of this phone is the camera. The pictures are very clear and crisp. The phone's buttons turn in to camera buttons when you turn the phone sideways so focusing and taking pictures is very easy. Trying to protect this phone is not so easy. I still have not been able to find a case that fits it.

I bought the phone because of more camera style, but moreso as compact phone. Great use and great setup. I didnt put my SIM card into the phone and just wanted to see what all the SONY / GOOGLE marketing gimmicks were loaded. Easy to find and disable. Once I added SIM card it connected quickly / reliably to Tmobile carrier. Also I dont use many apps on a phone. This phone lasts for days.

I really enjoyed the size of the screen, the feel of the phone, and the performance. It saddened me when I had to return it because it didn't support VoLTE or VoWiFi on T-Mobile. Remote play on the PS4 worked well, the speakers sounded good, and it just felt great. I would still have the phone if it would have supported T-Mobile 100%

Just got this thing yesterday,and after using a giant samsung note 8, it seems really weird to have such a "small" phone now..I remember when 5 inches was a big phone! Very nice screen, very nice sound, missing a few key features on Tmobile; no wifi calling, and wont wirelessly charge using my samsung wireless charger, which is a surprise.Weak cellular signal, compared to my note, but, so far, no dropped calls, so we will see. All in all, a nice change from a giant phone!!

Keeping this basic as possible, but overall button layout is great, responsiveness and charging is really quick. Sleek and comfortable size for anyone with small hands like mine. Camera I think could be improved a little bit more, not as sharp as other motorola phones in my opinion but no big deal, HDR didnt do much for video and 4K video didnt seem to allow for great focusing, seemed to disable the touch focus. Included earbuds and usb-c to aux adapter is a plus! The only splinter in my foot about this was using Verizon service, everything worked except receiving texts, you could send but not receive. Tried multiple troubleshoots, resets, forums, nothing worked. Thats the only reason I dock a star, if it worked %110, 5/5 no hesitation.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 compact is one of the best phone anyone can get. Build quality is outstanding, Software is great, no slowdowns or lagging at all. Battery life is more than what I expected, running the latest Android 9.0 update already. Looking forward to the sequel. Keep it up Sony.

Finally an Android phone that fits in my pocket! Amazing camera, wonderful processor. Also nice to see Sony have a functioning fingerprint sensor in the US market. Well done Sony!

I bought XZ2 compact at bestbuy store at 9/30/2018. I found that phone was DEAD at 10/19/2018. I never drop and damage it. Only used it on 19 days. It was terrible because return or exchange policy is within 14 days. The worst thing is Sony's customer service. They never gave me any information about the update of the service and gave the wrong information. When I checked the delivery, it was delivered two weeks ago. They did not send it to the repair part, but I informed me that there was battery issue on my phone. I did several times chatting with customer service but they don’t know, only and always said that “We will update you ASAP.” That’s it. They never contacted me. If someone wants to buy a Sony product, they will need to know that Sony phone may suddenly dead, and that their service is really terrible.

No sooner got the phone out of the box and tried the sound and the bottom speaker crackles. Appears this is a big issue with some of the Xperia Compact models. No fixes from Sony outside of exchanging. Such a pain since the store doesn't stock them I'll have to order it again to exchange.
