I bought this speaker with the expectation of a house shaking sound system. This one speaker is pretty loud, but I'll admit I expected louder. It is good for a large living room house party. It'll be all you need. But if you have a much larger area, you will definitely need 2 or more of these speakers. The sound clarity is fantastic. It's just so clear and pure coming out of the speakers as if you had headphones on. It has Bluetooth connectivity so you can connect it to your tv if your tv has Bluetooth capabilities. Most smart TVs do. You can of course connect it to your phone as well. The wheels under it help you move it around. They're not the best, so I just lift and carry it. It's a bit heavy. I'm definitely keeping this speaker and will be using it at every party.

I own alot of sony items from tv to headphones to system to audio system to every speaker they drop and this XV800 is amazing for its size had alot fo bass very balanced amaing clarity and amazing sound quality sony been the best and i love the soundstage and the way they tune their speakers you cant go wrong with sony ever

Big, heavy sound. If you often find yourself tasked with bringing the sound to a gathering, this is likely your best answer that will blow away expectations. Sony’s XV800 delivers enormous sound without the need for wires. This device packs as much punch as it does weight. It delivers full, effortlessly room-filling sound, and comes with all the right connection and input options. However, it does come in a hefty package. Rolling wheels are included for easy transport if it proves too heavy to handle. Given its large size and weight (just over 40 pounds), some might find it a challenge to move around. There is no absolute need to run a dedicated application to operate this speaker. However, to fully leverage all the features offered, you need to download Sony’s Music Center and Fiestable applications. Music Center controls most of the basic functions and provides some options for lighting control, but it lacks a key feature: a static lighting option with color tuning. This application is also used for product registration and pairing. If you own multiple compatible speakers, you can set them up in a stereo configuration. Fiestable offers color tunable options for lighting, as well as accelerometer-compatible controls based on the settings you choose. With a flick of your phone, you can change the lighting, advance tracks, and more. The app also provides karaoke and voice controls. I wish these two apps were combined into one for convenience - the growing number of proprietary apps needed to run single electronics is becoming cumbersome. The biggest letdown with this unit is the optical input. I was greeted with a flashing “optical in” display when initially attempting to use it. After consulting a troubleshooting guide and the owners manual, I found that setting the TV's optical out mode to “PCM” is a prerequisite for this function to work. Without this, I was unable to get any sound and instead received random pops from the speaker. Additionally, the TV enhancement option was not as functional as I expected. I had to disable it to get sound resembling what it should have been, rather than a low rumble. Unfortunately, without the enhancement on, the sound output paled in comparison to what I experienced using a Bluetooth connection to play music. Given these complications, I recommend using this as a Bluetooth speaker or employing a direct audio cable through your TV. I tested this with a Sony Bravia KD-60X690E TV, so your experience may vary depending on your setup. In the right settings, this device is a beast. But in others, not so much. This speaker would be perfect poolside or next to the sprinklers on a hot day - it boasts great battery life (around 10 hours of heavy use on a full charge) and an IPX4 water resistance rating. The sound is fantastic at higher volumes, albeit a bit muffled at lower volumes. This is exactly what I'm looking for when outside and entertaining guests.

I love this speaker. It works amazing with an amazing battery life. It is well worth the price. It gets loud enough with great enough bass to shake the door of my room. I've never heard a Bluetooth speaker that is somewhat portable with so much bass. The customer support from Sony is amazing. The sound of this speaker carries great out on the sandbar on the river. In the 115-degree heat on sand and getting splashed with water this speaker delivers every time. No complaints with this speaker and would purchase again.

If you like a balanced sound this is your speaker this speaker is loud loud. The sounds sound crystal clear bass is just the right amount where it doesnt overpower the detail in music and if you dont think its loud enough connect it to a wall outlet it will Definitely get a bit more louder and bass more punchier the only reason why i give it 4 stars is because the wheels feel cheap and small so the bottom of the speaker is close to the ground so youll be getting scratches on the bottom part other then that its overall crystal clear, punchy base and balance sound can hear the detail in music for music with bass like rap/hiphop/edm etc might not like the bass lacking for this genre

My kids love this Beast of a Speaker. First of all my kids are in college and this speaker is exactly what I would’ve wanted in college. It’s LOUD but sounds good. It has a mic input for karaoke and if you want to play along with a guitar then it’s got an input for that too. Just Bluetooth connect to your phone and let the good times roll. Even has lights you can control from the Sony app. Has wheels so it’s easy to move. Also it’s wireless.

Bought it to play music when hosting get together a at my house. Does an amazing job and the battery will last forever. I definitely recommended. I’ve used it for a few house parties and it’s very loud with ease of use.

In love with the Speaker, its sound is super clean, charge life is amazing and usability is as easy as it gets. It has small wheels at the bottom that helps with mobility. Great for outdoor parties, wink wink for those 4th of July coming up.

this speaker is graet for taking out to the park or even in my buddies car,it works like a car system...super bassy has 5 tweeters for great clear sound...can also turn into a home subwoofer for movie watching with just a push of a button...would recomend it to anyone

I love this speaker. The sound and amount of bass from this thing is impressive. The wheels are really great for moving it from room to room. The lights are a little underwhelming in terms of brightness, but by no means a deal breaker. If you like loud music, the battery life is decent when the lights are on and the volume is high. Sony improved the clarity and detail of the sound compared to their older models. Being able to connect this to a TV is a surprisingly nice feature. I didn't think I'd ever use it, but I did. The one thing I wish Sony would perfect is the party connect feature. I own other Sony speakers with this capability but it sometimes goes out of sync when I connect multiple together. You cannot go wrong with this speaker. The great sound quality mixed with deep bass and decent battery life, it's a win for Sony.

This is the second Sony speaker I purchased. The first being the xp500. The xv800 is a much bigger and better sounding speaker in my opinion. Clarity is great and bass is good at lower volumes but losses bass as the volume is increased. It’s a much heavier speaker then the xp500 so will likely be for home use only where as the xp500 is much more travel friendly. Even that being said still a very good sounding speaker.

Great sound, decently portable. Bluetooth functions easily! Plenty of volume in a large space like a gymnasium. This system gets used for high school cheerleading practice.

Good sound quality, portability, weight/size ratio, the only thing, in my opinion is that including a remote control should be great, with lights control or when is connected to the TV. Other than that is awesome.

Bought this for a pontoon day out on the water. sound so far is clear and is loud in a outside setting. which im assuming it sounds great indoors. have yet to connect it to a tv. light show makes the speaker look great. wheels on the speaker is helps to move it, it is a bit heavy. I did have a few connection problems. had to disconnect and reconnect a few times

This thing bumps! It has wheels so it rolls around easily (an extendable handle would be a nice added touch). Loud, deep base, great sounding.

Great speaker and super loud. I guess the only issue would be that it weighs so much and the wheels aren’t really helpful lol. Besides that it’s An amazing speaker especially at the price I got it for.
