Posted .Hi Nome, we're glad you like the sound quality of our product. We're sorry to hear that you had returned your SONY unit. The volume may be low when you use certain headphones. In this case, switch the output setting to High Gain.
Also, the AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) function reduces the risk of damage to ears from loud volumes. Using AVLS limits the maximum volume. Please check this link for more details:

Run away from Sony as fast as you can
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has been making crappy products for almost 60 years. This is no exception. Most of my Sony products either break way too soon, have terrible user interface and all are backed by the worst customer service. Been trying to get help with this unit for days and have been hung up on multiple times while on hold. Nobody seems to know anything.
