I wanted to see this when it was at the movie theaters. Due to my schedule I had no free time to check it out. I found the BluRay at Best Buy and man this film is off the hook in more ways than one! It was shot in my hometown Oakland so I automatically took interest. This movie is the craziest thing I've seen since Get Out 2 years ago. They say that slavery would be back in effect in 1995 but it never went out of existence. Just in different forms. In this film you see how people are used and manipulated for someone else's gain. Just like in the movie Get Out, a lot of stereotypes about black people and black men in particular were confronted. It was good to see Bay Area native Danny Glover in the flick as well as Mistah FAB making his cameo appearance. Shout out to Boots Riley from The Coup for making this film happen no doubt!!!

    One of 2018's overlooked films.

Sorry To Bother You is an experience. What starts out as simple satire of a young African American using a "white voice" to talk to people with his job as a telemarketer turns into a bizarre journey that focuses on a dystopian society that deals with capitalism. I saw this movie in theaters, and was laughing throughout. Not only is this movie hilarious, but it's thought provoking. In my opinion, Sorry To Bother You was one of 2018's overlooked movies. If you like surreal, dark comedies, check this movie out.

    Not Sorry

It is probably best to go into a viewing of Sorry to Bother You without knowing much about the plot beyond the basics. Doing otherwise would ruin some delightfully weird twists and turns. In short, a telemarketer climbs the latter with a hilarious voice and discovers things are not what they seem.

Anarchic, outrageous, funny and frighteningly relevant- This films examines the extremes of society in terms of racism, culture appropriation and hyper-consumerism through the surreal tale of a telemarketer trying to make it big. Not for everyone but I’d still recommend at least seeing it once.

    Satire with bite

Boots Riley’s directorial debut is a scathingly funny look at the world of telemarketing, race relations, labor disputes and corporate office politics (among many other things). The vibe is at times somewhat loose and free-associative, which may not make for tight plotting but allows for some inventive visual gags and flights of fancy to complement the film’s satirical approach. See it!

    An unusual comedy

Lakeith Stanfield takes the lead in this dystopian comedy, in which he must play by the rules of a crooked, corporate ladder. It is an awkward social commentary for what could become a disatrous future!

At face value, this movie is hilarious and ridiculous. However, if you set the comedy aside, it has so many social messages that make the viewer think. Definitely worth a watch (or two)...

If you're looking for a movie that will make you think this is it. It's not something that you probably will watch over and over but it's definitely a conversation starter.

Love it - it's possibly the best film of 2018 and the most unique from the last 10 years at least. It's incredibly smart and funny, but also socially aware and offers a very relevant message. Can't recommend this more!

This is a very different and original story and movie. Dramatic with a flair for horror but really fun comedy and big-time parody. Not easy to find but good ol; Best Buy came through again...

I heard online this was a really good movie but had no idea what to expect. While completely bonkers I thought it was great entertainment. Going into this movie blind is probably the best way to see it.

I sat down for this movie expecting a light satire on code-switching and wound up with an epic darkly comic treatise on race, class, economics, politics, and the media. Highly recommended.
