I was prompted to pick this up after seeing it on the Big Screen at one of those "Fathom Events" screenings. It was surprisingly good and I think it still holds up into our modern and cynical culture. It was also on sale and includes the digital copy, which I am finding more valuable lately for ease of access. Recommended A+

This edition of South Pacific is exhilarating, with full high definition demonstrating the brilliant color pallet of the director. The bonus features also explain the production of the film in great detail and shows the cultural impact that the musical had on the nation during an era of struggling civil rights.

South Pacific holds a very special place in my heart. This collection is a must have for anyone who likes the movie and music of South Pacific.

This is a great classic musical! Now on blu-ray makes it even more valuable AND enjoyable to watch. A must have for every movie collection.

My only minor complaint is that the DVD movie will NOT play on my DVD recorder for some unknown reason. Otherwise AAA.

Comes with Blu-ray and DVD, including an extended 'road version' I had never seen before - the coloring on that version was a little annoying because it had not been restored like the theatrical version. This is probably the fourth version of South Pacific I have bought, but by far the best.

A Rodgers & Hammerstein classic that I have grown old, soon to be 60, watching over and over. I love everything about it but there is one personal standout reason. Mitzi Gaynor Definitely recommended for family and friends.

My father served in the she pacific theater during WW2 and I am I saw the original movie on the big screen. I have wanted to see it again for some time. This was an opportunity to get it on DVD. I have watched it several times and enjoy it every time.

I already owned an old standard DVD copy of South Pacific which was good with no obvious faults. However the new Blu Ray DVD is better, mostly with a deeper more vibrant color. I think that the images are somewhat more crisp also although that is not as obvious. Overall it is worth having and it is the copy I will use henceforth.

This is another wonderful roadshow release. This one nearly got away with key elements deteriorating. A great restoration of an important piece of work. If you have a decent home theatre, I hope you will consider getting this for your collection

What does South Pacific and South Park (the movie) have in common? Musical of course. You thought I was joking. But don't make mistake. You may like one and not the other. Seriously not much in common. South Pacific is a classic and a very entertaining musical. Highly recommended.

I have always loved this film for its vibrant visuals and mystical charm, but this BluRay set with its special features is a treasure. It teaches you so much about the history of the broadway play and how it was brought to the big screen.
