Did not want to see this show when it came out. I thought it was going to be a bit dull. I caught the 3rd episode, and oh my god... I couldn't wait to see the next one. Had to go back and watch the other two to catch up. Spartacus is amazing. Andy Whitfield (R.I.P.) has such fierce. Manu, Viva, Katrina, Lucy and the rest of the actors including Andy are beautiful, and have so much fight in them. It's worth the watch. My boyfriend even got into it and he's a wicked skeptic. Awesome story, the blood and guts were great to see and the acting couldn't be better. Best series EVER!

If you want an entertaining show with some historical accuracy this is the show for you! Educated lines, great plot, Blood, guts, and glory. The action sequences are greatly done and some in the style of Frank Miller (Comic book freeze frame). Great costumes! And I love the insults. The downside (and not a big one) is there is a lot of nudity. Then again...those were the days. Beautiful women for the men and gorgeous men for the women...(hunk alert). NOT FOR THE KIDS!!!

One of Starz first hit series that is more than just television for mature audiences . The creators have taken special effects to an amazing level, but the story keeps you coming back for more. And if it is the former that peeks your interest, you certainly won't be disappointed! The packaging on this series is really cool and I would suggest buying each individual season over the complete series option. Quality is superb!

I caught a few episodes on the the History or SciFi channel of the 3rd season and got hooked. I picked up the 1st and 4th seaon on sale and just started watching the 1st season. Good story lines, good acting, there is some mature language, and the effects have a striking "300" feel to them. Overall I would certainly recommend the series and will go back for seasons 2 and 3.

This show has a stylized, graphic novel-inspired design similar to the movie "300". Fans of "300" will love this too. It gives an uncompromising, hard-edged look at the world of ancient Roman gladiators, without any worry about political correctness or modern sensibilities. Gladiator also is filled with action and compelling characters and is very entertaining.

This by far a great show!! I've seen may shows come and go, but this one is in my top 3. Yes 3 all time favorite shows. The acting is amazing, the writing is awesome, well directed. Keep in mind it is graphic not only in it's fight sequences, but love scenes as well. Not a show for kids. But totally worth having in your movie/tv collection.

I bought the first season of Spartacus after seeing only one episode on the Starz website and I don't regret it. Not only is the story surprisingly captivating but the action scenes and the acting from the main cast is really good as well. I can say without a doubt that I will be buying the other seasons of this awesome show.

This is the Blu-ray version of the complete first season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand containing 13 episodes with over 11 hours of play time. After watching all episodes, you can move on to other seasons of this series which include Gods of the Arena (prequel), Vengeance (season 2) and War of the Damned (season3).

An absolutely amazing show that has something for everyone. Violence, excellent story, profanity, and more! Probably one of the best shows that Starz has ever made. Lucy Lawless is flawless along with a star-studded cast of amazing actors. Definitely something you'll watch again and again.

Done in a similar style as the movie 300, this is a great tv series from starz. If you can get past the comic/graphic novel aspect in the beginning and follow the story, it is well worth it, and starts to get more realistic (less comic bookish) after a while. Well worth watching!

This is a ground breaking show. It had awesome acting to go along with action. the pacing of the show was great as well. Andy Whitfield did a spectacular job in the title role. You also get a great feel for the brutality of life during the age of the Roman empire.

This entire series never was what I thought it would be and I liked that. Each episode stepped up and delivered a very enjoyable experience. I had expected this to be heavy on action, but it excelled at plot and character development.

The first season of Spartacus is by far the best. Great action, story and of course the very talented Andy Whitfield and Lucy Lawless. The later seasons never matched up, mostly because of the very unfortunate passing of Andy.

Really enjoyed the first season!!! Due to the untimely death of the main character (actor), he was replaced for season two with a much inferior actor that just kind of lost it's momentum for me. So sad to hear that he passed.

I love historically based movies. This one tops my list as one of the best movies/series I have ever seen. It kept you riveted to the seat to see what happened next eventhough most of us know how this story ended.

This season was amazing! The only season with the main actor who played Spartacus. He passed away from cancer(I believe) after the first season and was then replaced. RIP You were the best Spartacus!!

The 1st season to tell the tale of Spartacus. Done in an artful way, the series pulls you in and you only want more. Mixing action and drama with a little added flair sexy makes this series amazing.

Lots of nudity and violence, but that was prevelent in Ancient Rome. So this shows not for everyone. More of a Historical fiction loosly based on the life of Sparticus. Action is similar to the Movie 300.

After Black Friday special price. If you don't like bloody action or T and A don't watch. plenty of extras. cinematography and the pit are 2 to watch I haven't watched the other 3 seasons but I will.

This show is awesome I cant stop watching it over and over again this is for adult only
