Never seen this film until recently and it is a must watch!

This is definitely a must see movie. One of my favorites.

Hayao Miyazaki has been called the Japanese Walt Disney, but that's not a fitting comparison. Miyazaki's films have more depth and maturity than the typical Disney fare, but still are family friendly. "Spirited Away" is a story about a young girl whose parents are bewitched and turned into pigs. She enters an alternate world and has to work in a surreal bathhouse that caters to spirits and mythical beings in hopes of finding a way to lift the curse on her family and return to the real world. Like many of Miyazaki's films, "Spirited Away" is a coming of age story in which our hero is forced to grow up and take on some responsibility. Also, she learns that things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes, good people do bad things. And, sometimes, bad people aren't that bad after all. This is such a beautiful movie. It might be the best thing Miyazaki has ever done ... and that's saying a lot.

I've been watching anime since the mid 90s and this is in my top 5 all time favorites! Spirited Away tells a engrossing, original story in a way that's totally unique. If you have smaller children, be warned that some of the characters may be considered scary. Your mileage may vary from kid to kid. I upgraded my DVD copy to Blu-Ray for the better picture and sound quality and have seen no issues.

I have been a have been a huge fan of Studio Ghibli since the first time I discovered their animated movies. This happens to be the first of many that started my love for this genre. I enjoy reading the subtitles while listening to the English translations. The most important part about the art is that it goes beyond the simplicity of its character design. When you watch this movie, look past the characters and embrace the scenery that was created by the artists. The depth of colors that go into making a scene is amazing. I always enjoy the stars they get to do the voice-overs.

One of the best Hiyao Miyazaki movies ever produced. It's easy to see why Spirited Away is the second-highest-grossing anime film of all time worldwide. Not only is the animation beautiful to watch, but the story is wonderful and will make you want to watch it again and again. This movie contains many references to Japanese culture for the shinnichi, yet it never makes it hard for those unfamiliar with Japan to enjoy or understand what's happening in the story. If you love this movie do yourself a favor and do a little research on this story and if you simply like it, the research will make you love it. This award winning film is definitly worth watching and absolutely worth buying.
