Classic studio ghibli. Recommended for studio ghibli fans.

This version is great! I'm glad that a better translation exists. Never got a chance to see this one, but once I heard there waa a better translation, I went for it!

This film has a unique, appealing art style. The story is just okay but the presentation makes up for it. Would recommend for any family movie night with kids.

It's a classic movie. My two daughters fell in love with Chihiro and her story. It is empowering coming of age story. Buy this movie to inspire your children.

This movie was a lot of fun to watch! There was a lot of symbolism if you wanted to dig deep into it, yet it was exciting to just sit back & enjoy the fantasy.

I cannot recommend this movie enough. It is well made, the visuals are stunning, and it makes you think which is something more movies should do.

An awesome movie for adults, middle school kids and up. It actually incorporates interesting concepts on what happens when we forget about nature.

So, apparently Best Buy allows you to only review a product once, as opposed to once per time you have purchased this product. This means you will only read this review a small fraction of the amount of times you really ought to. Spirit Away makes a great introduction to japanese animation, "anime", and quality writing. Aside from the numerous copies I have had to purchase because of ex-girlfriends, roommates, seminar attendees, and raffle winners taking my copies, I have also used copies of this DVD as collateral in poker games (twice). While it may seem strange and extravagant to purchase the same movie so many times without, you know, making a personal backup copy or something, the trouble is that you never *expect* that there will come a time when something happens to your copy of this movie. It either stays in the DVD player, or in the stack of DVDs you keep accessible at all times in case you need something that is endearing, family friendly, thought provoking, and universally acclaimed. At this point, I just consider purchasing copies of this movie part of my yearly utilities bill, and hope that my next IRS auditor will have seen the movie themselves so that this story will make sense to them.

What can be said? Its Ghibli. some of the most beautiful art an animation in film and a touching story. Miyazaki at his finest.

Miyazaki's best film. And it won the Oscar for best animated feature that year. Definitely a must for any fan of animated films!

All of the characters in this story make it such a great movie. This is one of those movies that I can watch again and again.

Originally watched it many years on a scratched up DVD. The jump to blu-ray makes the film shine and makes it worth the rewatch!

This is a great movie. I love the how Shihiro grows and helps her family and friends. It is a visual stunning master piece.

One of my favorite movies!! Definitely a must see! It’s a little creepy but a great overall story and great animation

This movie must be experienced by everyone at least once in their life. Its not just a kids movie, its a movie for all ages. Its like the Japanese version of The Little Mermaid and The Lion King. Not plot wise, because they are completely different. More along the lines that they are timeless and can be enjoyed by anyone. I first saw spirited away 12 years ago when it was on Cartoon Network. It used to air every year at some point and I would watch it. Eventually I got the DVD...and then the imported Blu Ray only for them to announce america was getting it 2 weeks later....which I also got. The story follows a little girl who is kind of spoiled and naive. She and her parents are moving and accidentally get stuck in the spirit world. She loses her parents and must rescue them. She meets new friends and old friends, she works jobs, goes through danger, and her character undergoes tremendous growth. Its a joy to see. The colors are bright and vivid, its great eye candy. Hayao Miyazaki has a phone with gods number on it. Studio Ghibil movies are very touching. Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and The Wind Rises are other works by him and the studio. Also Grave of the Fireflies not by Miyazaki, but from Studio Ghibil it will make you cry as it shows the lives of orphans by war. Great studio and great movies.

I was told by friends about this and I was not disappointed! I won't spoil anything but I definitely recommend it!
